The cursor hovered over the top of my screen. I held my breath before clicking the refresh icon. It rolled a few times, only to give the same automatic response.

I pinched the bridge of my nose, letting my head lean against the chair.

A low exhale escaped my lips.

Zilla strode into my room, her flip-flops making noisy slaps against the floor. She was muttering with a mouthful of mouthwash.

“C'mon, Raya. Get some rest.”

I angled my face in her direction, seeing her in twos.

Zilla returned

ROGERThe paperworks in the office had significantly increased over the past few months with a few of our partners noting the difference in slide and presentation ever since my home coming ceremony all thanks to Naraya.A knock came on my office door. I looked up from the desk. Rhea.“You've been silent all morning,” she said, the sound of her heel clicking against the tiles. “Should I make tea for you?”I shook my head. Then, “just tell me the report on the current market value of VoxTin.”She stretched out her table to her face, then clicked a few times. “VoxTin have moved to 9th to 8th place in global Pack appeal since the last two days.”I pressed two fingers at the side of my head, rubbing. “Gather the team players and border members set a meeting. We need to figure out how to climb higher before the week runs out.”My phone chimed cut through my words. My love: {Honey don't forget, Brontë arrives at 6 pm tonight.} I sighed, slapping the phone down.“Anything the problem sir?”“

SILAS“Ouwww,” she tapped her feet against the floor tiles. “I can't wait to tell Lisa about everything.” The red in the colour dress and a lose mouth, mouthered as she looked like she had been handed a candy.“If I where you… I'd watch my mouth. You can't go about throwing slander against the Luna of our Pack. It's clearly you are drunk or hit your head against the train on your way here.” I muttered, all freigning confidence.“Oh, I almost forgot she's the Luna now.” She said, then angled her body towards me. “And did you just insult me by insulting I was drunk?”She crossed her arms. “Well then lets tell this to Melissa and the Alpha King and see what he thinks about it shall we?”“Besides I even doubt if the twins are—” I pressed my hand flat against her lips before the words could leave her mouth. She bite my hand, and sent a kick to my groins.“Argh,” I yelled, letting her go.I felt a surge of rage rise in my blood popping in my veins. I yanked her onto my shoulders, ignoring

  • The Luna He Never Deserved   CHAPTER 72: Bare It, Roger

ROGERThe mansion was filled with more quiet when I returned. Silas had his leg laced over eachother in my sitting room.I dropped my car key on the entry way console table and neared him.“Where's Melissa?”“Upstairs.”“And the kids?”“Fast asleep.”A hissed slurred off my lips and I leaned into the couch beside him.“This is bad Alpha. Really bad. Melissa is really upset. You should talk to her.”I turned my head to meet his face. “You think I don't know?” I whispered then leaned in closer. “What's this I'm hearing about Naraya? I never asked for her to be evicted.”A scowl claimed Silas' rogued expression. “Who's getting evicted?”“Naraya did,” I whispered again, urging him with a gesture of my hand to do the same.“What?” His brows deepened. “Find out more about this and report to me tomorrow.” I muttered, tapping my hand on the chair. Zilla warned me about me. Oh gosh I should have listened to her. Zilla's such a life saver.Zilla this. Zilla that. There was no denying that sh

NARAYA The street lights flickered. My arms wrapped around me as I strode down the road, watching his car disappear into the night. I pulled out my phone from my jean pocket. {Hey dear. I'm done, please pick me up.} My thumb hoovered over the send Icon.I lowered sigh brushed off my lips. I resolved to shut my screen and just cover a few distances myself. The cold bite into my skin but I couldn't feel it. All I felt was Roger's last words ringing and barking in my ears.“‘Remember, your friends might be the ones you should weary off.’” His words resounded in my head again.I don't keep friends. He knows that.A cracked laugh broke out of my lips. How funny of him to want to turn the tables around on people I actually love. What would Zilla possibly gain from hurting me?“Don't let him get to your head.” Ava muttered within me.My voice lowered, “I won't.” I felt the way she'd restrained herself all through evening. From seating with our mate's wife and then he himself in the car,

Katherine’s POVI had rehearsed how to tell him about my pregnancy a thousand times in one day.In the mirror and even in my dreams. I had imagined he would smile after hearing it or he would maybe scoop me up in his arms and finally profess his love for me.But I finally realized I needed to wake up from my hallucinations, so this morning, I didn’t practice or smile or even try to imagine his response.I just carried the file that he badly wanted in my hand and walked toward his roomI was going to inform him about this pregnancy after giving him the file, even though excitement in me had already burned out. All that was left was ash and a trembling kind of hope. A hope that he would accept my child, even if not me. I went to his door and knocked twice but there was no answer.I waited, before knocking again but no response.Maybe he wasn’t inside. He never spent much time in his room during the day unless he was working from there and if he wasn’t working, then I knew where he woul

KATEFLASHBACK Four Years ago I skimmed through the last page of the proposal, my fingers brushing the edges of the document as I reached for a sticky note. This campaign needed to be extremely perfect, clean and persuasive enough to keep Rafael’s company on top of the minds of every pack alpha on the council. That was what he wanted and he demanded of me.My pen hovered over the notepad, ideas forming in quick waves, when my phone rang beside the keyboard.“Hello?” I answered quickly, pushing the files aside.“Mrs. Katherine,” came the familiar voice of Dr. Keiran, the pack’s medical officer. His tone was way too light to be routine. “Your results came in this morning.”My heart skipped. I had been feeling very weak and nauseous for the past few weeks and so I decided to go for a check up, hoping for a particular result.“And?” I asked, half-holding my breath. There was a pause from him.“You’re three weeks pregnant.”My eyes and mouth flew open.“What? Are you sure?”“You’re three

NARAYA“Tell me you are joking, Raya.” Zilla's eyes widened behind her glasses. I lowered my gaze, suddenly picking interest in tracing the lines in my palm.“I’m not.”“Geez, Raya, you are twenty-three, not eighteen. How could you let that happen?”Neither of us spoke for a moment as we let the mu

NARAYAMost wolves reluctantly settle for the option of a chosen mate only when they have completely exhausted all hopes of finding their fated mate after decades of waiting. NARAYA“Roger… where are you?” Melissa's voice drifted down the corridor. Her heels echoing closer. The aggressive heat in Roger's eyes melted into a cold panic. He dropped his hand from my shirt, stepping back just enough to break the intimate space between us.“Play along,” he whispered, his orbs

NARAYA“Daddy? Who is this woman?”A cold, unexplainable ache ripped through my chest as the little boy’s words echoed in my head for a few seconds. My Roger... Daddy?I stared at Roger, waiting for an explanation. A laugh. An indication that the pup was lying, joking, or even wrong. But his face w
