**Raina's POV** I chuckled as Rowan placed a blindfold over my eyes, tying the cloth at the back of my head. "No peeking," he murmured, and I chuckled again. "I won't peek if you tell me what this is about," I replied, my heart pounding in excitement. He came to me while I was resting and told me he had a surprise for me. But I didn't expect him to cover my eyes. Now I was wondering what kind of surprise he had... "It won't be a surprise if I tell you, will it?" Rowan whispered in my ear, his hot breath fanning my skin. I trembled at the sensation that coursed through me, my core knotting with indescribable need. "Oh, please tell me, my love. The suspense is killing me," I said, stomping my feet playfully. "Just give me a few minutes, and you will see the surprise," Rowan murmured. He grabbed my hand and led me somewhere. Soon, I heard a car door opening before Rowan scooped me up into his arms. A gasp escaped my lips, and my heart pounded, but I soon relaxed, knowin
**Raina's POV** "Mom wants us to go to the mansion?" I asked Rowan as he put on his shirt. "Yes... she said she wants to talk to us," he replied, glancing at me. I arched an eyebrow. "At eight pm? Can't it wait till tomorrow?" I was exhausted. I still couldn't recover quickly like normal werewolves, so since I had an intense day at the academy, I wanted to sleep earlier. "She said it's urgent," Rowan said, throwing me a pair of blue jeans and a grey tee. "It didn't sound like it could wait. And you might like what she will tell us." "Do you know something?" I asked suspiciously. He seemed to be in on whatever is going on. 'Mom, what do you want to say? Can't it wait till tomorrow? I wanna sleep.' I reached her through the mindlink, but I got no response. She was blocking me off! I released a sigh before getting to my feet. I took off my silk pajamas and wore the clothes Rowan threw at me. A pout crossed my lips. I was ready to cuddle and sleep in Rowan's arms.
**Rita's POV** "Have a good day, Miss Anderson," one of the warriors at the border said after he cleared my pass to leave the Crescent Moon Pack. As their Luna’s mother, they respected me and welcomed me wholeheartedly, even though they knew I was from the Nightshade Pack. I was glad to know my daughter was the Luna of such a nice pack with nice people. They would always have her back. As her mother, all I prayed for was that her life would be smooth and filled with happiness from now on. And that's why I was making this trip. Michael had been staying in the human town for weeks. He had declined Raina’s offer to live in the Crescent Moon Pack, and I knew he did it for me. But I wouldn't be selfish and deprive Raina of the opportunity to bond with both her parents. We had lost so much time; there was no need for us to lose any more. I secretly asked Rowan for the address of his apartment, and he gave me one of his cars to drive. Luckily, I had gotten my license a few weeks ba
**Flynn’s POV** I was once someone who was good at comforting pack members after they lost their mates. Be strong. Your mate would want you to move on and be happy. Healing takes time, but with time, it will get easier. I'm here for you in case you need a friend. I was so full of myself. What made me think I could comfort those people? What made me think anything I said could take away the pain of losing one's mate? One's soul. It was only when it happened to me that I realised all those words of comfort don't mean shit. In fact, they just add salt to the wound. They serve as a reminder that you lost your one true love... that the other half of your soul was gone forever, and you would never be whole again. I clenched my jaw, the lump in my throat still big and painful to swallow. Jade... Her death kept replaying in my mind over and over for weeks. I can never forget the pain I felt when I lost her. I felt so useless. She saved me. Fuck! Fucking fuck!
**Rowan's POV** After spending weeks rebuilding the pack, things were starting to go back to normal. Not everything though... My best friend and brother, Flynn, had left the pack. He had joined the Nightshade Pack as my baby brother's Beta... and his mate, Jade, was taken away from him. This will always linger in my mind. She died so brutally with their pup in her womb. What I saw in Flynn’s eyes that day was terrifying. The man I once knew was gone. Broken. I looked into his eyes and knew he would never be the same again. Even though not everything had gone back to normal, the pack was rebuilt, and everyone had gone back to their usual lives. It had been weeks of sorrow, but having Raina by my side gave me the strength I needed to go on. When I felt like I couldn't lead my people... when I felt like a failure, she held my hand and became my strength, reminding me of the Alpha I am. She was such a wonderful woman, and tonight I wanted to adore this woman. I wanted to show he
**Raina's POV** I chuckled as Rowan carried me into the elevator, my arms wrapped around his neck. "Be honest, you had planned this already, right? It wasn't a spur-of-the-moment thing," I remarked, looking up at him. My man was so handsome. He was more handsome when he pretended like he just decided that we would spontaneously sleep outside the pack. On our way from the restaurant, he suddenly changed direction and drove to a hotel, saying he suddenly felt like not sleeping at home tonight. Rowan smirked, looking at me. He wasn't denying it. "I thought having a mini honeymoon wouldn't hurt. We didn't do much after our mating ceremony," he murmured. "I'm going to have you for dessert until you scream my name." I felt my core clench repeatedly with indescribable need. I bit my lower lip, giving him a sultry gaze. "I look forward to it." A low growl escaped his lips, and the moment the elevator reached our floor, Rowan hurried out of it, heading to our room.
**Raina’s POV**Night had fallen, and we shifted back into our human form. “Are we going back now?” I asked. “Not yet,” Rowan said, holding my hand. “I want you to see something.” I arched an eyebrow, wondering what he wanted to show me. “Come here,” he said, snaking his arms around my waist and
**Rowan’s POV**The moment I saw Raina’s wolf, I was in awe. This was the first time I saw a silver wolf. They used to be a lot in the past, but they became extinct after a while, and the werewolf world hasn't seen a silver wolf in almost four hundred years. Or maybe they were just good at hiding
**Rowan’s POV**People often thought I was a heartless monster who loved going to war and killing innocent people. The truth was, I hated war with a passion. The aftermath was always unpleasant. Whether you win or lose, there are always casualties– people lose their lives, others lose their limbs
**Raina’s POV**The next day didn’t start with drama like the other day. Brooke was nowhere to be seen, and breakfast was very pleasant. Rowan was busy with pack duties, so I spent the day with Jade. She took me around the pack, all while asking me questions about myself. It felt good to finally h
