Katherine pov

“Oh no,” I gasped.

The name Casto brought shivers down my spine immediately.

If Talia’s mom finds out about me and spills it to Casto’s wife, everything I’ve tried to protect will crumble. Casto, my nemesis, will have ammunition to destroy me. I can’t afford that. Talia says she’ll beg her dad, but can I really trust that? The stakes are too high. I need to find a way to prevent this revelation, or my carefully constructed world will unravel before my eyes.

“Don’t worry, I’ll tell dad not to spill anything to her. We all know she is a blabber mouth. Dad will listen to me,” Talia shrugged.

“You believe he won’t tell her?”

“I mean there has to be a good reason for you to do this and we’re faithful to you and your family. So yes, dad will listen to me. If he doesn’t, I have this potion I took from the shelf down the hallway. It makes you forget what happened a few hours ago.”
