Weak form

Jade pov

"My office, now!" Father snapped, he had the deadliest glare and it made other people around cower in fear.

Brother and I sighed. It was obvious we didn't want to leave our mate but for some reason, our father chose to be pissed off at the fact that we actually found ourselves a mate.

He turned on his heels and stormed out with us reluctantly following behind.

Everyone began to murmur and mutter about the situation that was going on. It made me slightly angry that no one would mind their business and everyone just enjoyed poke nosing. I assumed it was because we were the royal family but it didn't mean we weren't people too.

The walk to his office it was quiet. I still wondered why he chose to have an office when other Alphas chose to have thrones and a throne room. My brother Jude saw it as reasonable though.

We were both next in line to the throne and either the kingdom was split in two or we both ruled together. We insisted on ruling together but my father believed that we would never agree on anything and it would bring chaos to the pack if we had any kind of disagreement while we ruled.

All of these didn't matter for the moment, all we could think about was our mate that laid unconscious in the mountains.

My wolf and I wondered how she ended up there and why. We were glad to have found her sooner, who knew what would've happened to her if we didn't.

I shivered at the thought of her being hurt more than she already was.

Shaking my thoughts off, I managed to listen to what my father kept ranting about when we got into his office.

"Whose mate is it again?" He questioned.

"Ours," brother and I chorused.

Father seemed frustrated about this news for some reason, he dug his hands into his head before pulling at it and groaning out to express himself.

"You think he arranged a wife for us or something?" Jude whispered to me and my eyes widened as I found it hard to contain my laughter.

That would've been very ridiculous and embarrassing for the alpha family. Arranging a wife without our consent would also be very ridiculous because we were grown enough to handle things ourselves.

"You really believe this is funny? Does this seem funny to you? Do you see me laughing or anything?!" Father yelled, banging his hands on the table.

"Don't tell me you actually did find a wife for us," I deadpanned and I saw my brother bite his lower lip to hold his laughter so as not to upset father further.

"I really wish I did right now!"

"Why are you so worked up about this? You wanted us to find a mate and now we actually have found her and you're not happy," Jude said, crossing his arms around his chest.

If father was not happy about her arrival, then that would bring up a lot of issues between all of us because we could not simply deny her.

"You two do not understand what is simply wrong here," he whispered, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Please explain to us because we actually do not understand anything going on here at all," I insisted.

He sighed out, staring at us in disbelief  and then staring up at the ceiling before looking back at us again.

"You're twins, mated to one person," father pointed out.

"So?" We questioned.

"It is an abomination to have to share one mate. It is even more of an abomination because you are twins and also the next leaders of the strongest pack in the land. Do you want to bring shame to our family's legacy ?!" Father whisper-shouted with wide eyes.

I wonder what mother had to say about this.

Turning my head to the side in curiosity, I began to reason with what he had just mentioned.

"Who themed it an abomination?" Jude asked, he was as confused as I was.

In history we have heard this happen before and no one seemed to have a problem with it. So why now?

"We are the Mighty Pack," once again, he snapped, mentioning our pack's name.

So? I wanted to ask.

"We have legacies and standards to keep and sharing a mate is crossing the line," he stated.

"Are you questioning what the moon goddess has given to us, are you saying the moon goddess doesn't know what she is doing anymore, are you saying that the moon goddess has made a mistake? It's the moon goddess!" I furiously suggested, already irritated at how he thought of us and our mate.

"We didn't choose for her to be mated to us or vice versa, the moon goddess did and she is the all knowing here, not us or any other werewolf," Jude added.

We really were beginning to agree on the same thing.

"Don't put words into my mouth and don't implicate me here. What will the pack say, what will other packs say?" Father looked like he was already losing the fight.

"They will have to live with it and if they are so against it, then they should try and speak. Brother and I will rip the throat of anyone who tries to separate us from our mate," I curtly replied.

"Anyone." Jude inputted sternly.

Dad had the biggest look of disbelief  but we all knew he had no choice. No one could really stand against us no matter how they believe they're right. Eventually, he sighed in defeat.

"Fine, I'm glad I will no longer be the one to carry this burden in a few weeks," he muttered, settling down on his seat and turning away from us.

"We are not planning to let this pack down father but we also need to have our mate with us and something tells me she will make a great Luna and leader." I tried to assure but he waved us off.

"Whatever. Just try and win this fight with your mother."

The thought of her also being displeased crossed my mind and I gulped in fear.

....

It's been several hours since we last heard from our mate. The doctors said she was stable and we had nothing to worry about. She suffered from dehydration and hunger but they had already given her nutritions to boost her system. Although it would take a few hours before she regained consciousness.

Without a proper announcement, the news of us being mated had spread round the entire pack and everyone was talking about it non stop.

Mother was not around, she had left for a pack meeting earlier today and would be back soon. I wouldn't be surprised if the news had gotten to other packs or rogues.

"How do you think mother would react to us having a mate," brother asked, as if he read my thoughts loud and clear.

"I'm not sure and honestly, I'm really concerned. Unlike father, we cannot simply win an argument against her,"I stuttered.

Father was the Alpha but his wife was Luna and our mother was a warrior that sent chills down everyone's spine.

"She probably would be like. Over my dead body will you two get mates with someone who might be a rogue!" Jude said, mimicking her voice and walking with his hands on his waist to gesticulate her body movements.

"James talk some sense into your sons!" I added and we both burst out into laughter.

The laughter lasted a few seconds but finally died down with a loud sigh.

We fell silent for a moment, enjoying the cool evening breeze in the garden on top of the greenhouse roof.

It was our getaway place.

Not everyone was willing to climb that high to look for us anyway.

“But that girl really is beautiful,” Jude murmured and I nodded in agreement.

“I bet her name is as beautiful as her face. And her eyes too,” he said cheerfully.

“I bet they are.”

We fall into a deafening silence once again but it is broken when someone barges in towards us.

“Guys!”

We abruptly turned to see Lily standing across us.

Only Lily was ever willing to join us at the top of a building. Only Lily.

“What? How many times have we told you-”

“Mum’s home!” She cut in and we both froze.

Lily, our little sister was just 12 but because she grew up amongst two troublesome guys in the family, she often acted like a guy herself, she was more troublesome that Jude and I thought.

Mother was home and the news managed to send us into a trance of fear.

“She’s down at the hospital. I think she heard,” Lily informed further.

Without hesitation, three of us rushed our way down from the building, racing ourselves to the hospital in hopes of stopping mother from seeing our mate in such a weak form.

“Mum!” Lily yelled.

We had gotten to the hospital in a matter of seconds and Lily was the first to set eyes on our mother.

My heart skipped several beats to see that mother was coming out of the room where our mate slept.

She stared at us nonchalantly, she didn’t say anything and just walked past us. The terror in our eyes could say it all.

“Follow me, both of you.” She demanded.
