Chapter Sixty - Nine

Reunited:

As soon as the door shut behind Douglas, Jace’s whole mood changed. Nora felt it in an instant. The fearless, strong warrior that he was melted away and she felt all his fear and anxiety. Jace wrapped his arms around her and buried his face into her shoulder. His body shook lightly, his breathing got caught in his throat. Nora was confused for a second. She squeezed him back and then pulled away slowly.

“Jace?” Nora whispered.

“Damn it Nora.’ Jace whispered, holding her tightly, afraid to let her go.

“Are you ok? Is the baby ok? “ Jace asked, pulling back looking at her, his eyes searching hers as if looking for some sign.

“We are fine.” Nora smiled big, touching his face and her fingers traced his chiseled jawline.

“ You need to stop saving everyone. I was so afraid I was going to lose you. Are you sure you and the baby are ok?” Jace said as if he had been holding it together the whole time until they were alone.
