Aria’s POV.

Stepping out of the bathroom with steam still coming out from my skin, and just a towel wrapped around my body, I saw two omega's arranging what wasn't scattered in my room.

It had been days now since I woke up here, and even though the room was unfamiliar and the people even more so, I was starting to get used to the feel of it all.

Too used to it, if you asked me.

“You guys should leave,” I told them, and I made my way to the floor length mirror in my room.

The omega's exchanged glances.

“There's nothing to do in here. Unless you guys are here to spy on me,” I gave them a pointed look.

Even though they both looked innocent and genuinely confused at my accusations, I still wouldn't put it past them to be spies.

I haven't met everyone in the Pack but given what happened with Keira, I'm sure as hell that she has enemies-how many, was what I didn't know…yet. And until I figure my way around here I wouldn't just trust anyone blindly.

The both nodded in unison, and in no time slipped out, the door closing behind them softly.

It was as soon as they were gone that I released a breath I didn't realize I was holding. But I guess that was due to the fact of what I planned to do next.

I looked at my reflection.. Keira's, and even though the body was her's, the thoughts behind her eyes were mine. And they were very dark.

I had to prove myself to Zie. I didn’t want to. I didn’t want to think about it. But every minute that passed without action was another minute Lyra stayed locked away, silent, fading. Lyra was more important than all the alphas in the world to me.

I couldn’t lose her.

I wrapped the towel tighter around my chest and walked over to the small cabinet beside the bed. I pulled open the drawer, half expecting to find nothing but of all things, there was a pen and a leather bound notebook inside.

I took both out and sat at the edge of the bed. My fingers trembled a little as I opened the cover. The first page was blank.

I swallowed.

“How to get away with murder…” I wrote, referring to killing Jaxon.

Dear goddess. What the hell was I doing?

My hand hovered over the page as I penned things down.

Poison. Stabbing. Arranged murder. Push down the stairs.

Gosh! This was pathetic! Pushing down the stairs? Jeez Aria! You've lost your touch.

You used to be smart but now you're as dumb as a potato. How in the world would pushing someone, not just anyone an Alpha down the stories going to kill him. For fucks sake!

I tore out the page I wrote on, crumpled it in my hands and threw it into the thrash can.

Good thing I still had a good aim.

But what has my life turned into? Is this the price for having a second chance at life? Plotting to kill a man who hadn't even hurt me?

I shuddered at the thought.

“This isn’t me.” I muttered. “This is insane.”

I exhaled sharply.

But it was me now. Because if I didn’t do this, if I failed, Zie would kill Lyra. Or worse.

I closed my eyes and reached out through the mindlink, hoping against hope.

“Lyra?” I called gently. “Please, say something.”

But I got no response, like she wasn't even there. But I knew she was, no matter how faint the connection was I could still feel a piece of her.

“Lyra, I need you.” I whispered, pressing a hand to my chest. “I’m scared, and I don’t know what I’m doing. I need you here.”

Still nothing.

I let out a deep breath and sat back.

“Fine.” I muttered. “Zie?”

“I don’t like being summoned,” Zie growled through the mindlink.

“Well, too bad.” I snapped. “If you want me to kill your mate, then you better be answering when I call.”

She scoffed.

“You sound bold for someone who’s failing so badly.”

“I’m trying here.” I hissed. “You think this is easy? I'm writing murder plans on notebook paper like a psychopath and I don't even know where the hell I’m going to get poison!”

“Then ask Evelyn to help you with it.”

“Who the hell is Evelyn? How do you expect me to know these people?”

Zie didn’t respond right away. Then she said, like she was rolling her eyes at me.

“Evelyn is Keira’s personal omega, and Keira trusts her with her life,” she said. “We both do.”

“Qas she one of the omega's I told to leave?”

“Those airheads? Hell no,” she scoffed. “The one with cut big brown eyes, and copper-brown skin.”

“Oh,” I muttered, as I realized who she was talking about. “But how do I ask her to help? It's not like I can just ask her to get me poison. That's not something you drop into a casual conversation.”

“Figure it out. That’s what your clever little brain is for, and she was willing to do anything for Keira, so you have an advantage.”

I nodded, thinking it over. I had only read about women like this in books, and now, I was becoming part of them.

“Why are you always so angry?” I asked suddenly.

There was silence after that. Guess she wasn’t interested.

I stood, still holding the notebook, and walked over to the window. My towel had loosened, but I didn’t care. I just needed air.

Suddenly, the door flew open, and my heart nearly jumped out of my chest.

“What the hell?!” I snapped, clutching the towel tighter around my chest, as my eyes landed on Jaxon who was standing by the door, his expression stoic.

“What do you want?”

His eyes narrowed, and he walked into the room, closing the door gently behind him.

“You,” he muttered.

Jaxon’s POVI couldn't believe what I was seeing.Aside the fact that Keira was confidently screaming the wrong lyrics of a song, and was horrendously off key alongside Isabella, she was free–like she didn’t have a single care in the world.I'd never seen her like this. Never imagined she could be like this.Around me, she was always so careful. So controlled. And whose fault was that?Mine.I looked over at Alex, who was standing beside me, arms crossed, barely suppressing what looked like the biggest grin I'd ever seen on his face. The bastard was enjoying this.“You couldn't have mentioned this earlier?" I growled low enough that only he could hear.Alex had the audacity to shrug. "Slipped my mind, Alpha. You know how it is—initiation traditions and all that.""Bullshit."He'd waited until tonight specifically. Until Keira was already here, already drinking, already letting her guard down for probably the first time since I'd known her.The initiation party was a tradition I'd st

  • The Luna Who Came Back Wrong   Chapter 33

Aria’s POV While Dianne and I were lost in the moment, a time I greatly enjoyed, Troy sent a message through an omega telling me he’d be coming to pick me up in an hour.I asked Dianne to tag along, but she declined. Her reasons being that she wanted to be in the right frame of mind for her trip tomorrow. So I offered to stay behind with her instead, the idea of leaving her alone with her thoughts at a time like this wasn’t thrilling. But Dianne wouldn’t hear any of it, insisting that I went. According to her I was finally living, and not shrinking myself to keep a false narrative and rotting away. Her words stung, even though they were meant for the actual Keira, but I felt it too, because back at Moon Claw, I never lived–I was too engrossed with being the perfect Luna, so I spend my times burying my heads in books on everything that talked about being a good leader. It paid off as the Pack progressed but at the end of the day it still wasn’t enough, not for Curtis, and not for the

Aria’s POVOf all the things she could ask me to do to prove myself, she wants me to shift?I should be relieved at her request, because she’s literally giving me an easy way out. But I’m not. Not when Dianne was looking at me like shifting was going to expose some deep dark secret she and Keira shared. And I’m sure this has to do with the soul sisters stuff she was talking about between Zie, and Sia whom I suspect to be Dianne’s wolf.I tried reaching out to Zie again, but nothing,Same. Damn. Wall.I accepted my fate, and was about to tell Dianne the truth, when Zie suddenly showed up.“Aria,” she called out in what sounded like relief, but I was angry. So angry that if I could, I’d shut her off for good! “Have you had your fill of this shit show?” I asked bitterly.“I’ll answer that later,” she responded dismissively, and never in my entire life have I felt such a great urge to smack someone hard across the face. What does she mean by she’ll answer that later? Is all this a joke

Aria’s POV“Dianne?” I called out quietly, as I noticed a tear streak on her face. She’s been crying. “Are you alright?”Dianne didn’t answer my question immediately, as her gaze went straight to Isabella who was standing beside me.“Hi Dianne,” Isabella said, but Dianne ignored her, turning her attention back to me.I could tell something was going on between them both.“Keira, we need to talk,” Dianne said, her eyes holding a thousand emotions.“Sure,” I said, and Dianne stepped aside so I could enter.I moved past her, but the moment Isabella tried to follow, Dianne blocked her part.“Alone,” Dianne said firmly, leaving no room for arguments.Another confirmation that they aren’t fans of each other.“Oh…of course,” Isabella said lightly, then looked at me. “If you need me, you know where to find me.”Once Isabella’s receding footsteps could no longer be heard, Dianne shut the door. She pressed her forehead against the door for a second as though bracing herself.“Dianne?” I walked

Aria’s POVIsabella. What was she doing here in the middle of the night?Does she also live in the Pack house?I thought it was only the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma’s that stayed here. She isn’t a Beta, nor a Gamma, so, why is she here?I made my way over to where she was, completely lost in thoughts, tapping her feet on the floor impatiently.“Isabella?” I called out.She froze. Like a deer caught in headlight, the moment she saw me.“Keira!” She exclaimed, with wide eyes. “What are you doing here?”“I should be asking you that?” I threw the question at her.She chuckled, but I didn’t miss as her eyes darted around, as if expecting someone.“I couldn’t sleep,” she explained. “Came down for a glass of water.”“You sleep fully clothed?” I asked, narrowing my eyes slightly.I gave her a once over. She was fully dressed–jeans, sweater, and boots.“I also went for a walk,” She added, and I just nodded, not believing a word she said. Isabella bid me goodnight, and climbed up the stairs, and th

  • The Luna Who Came Back Wrong   29

Aria‘s POVThe sound of angry voices was the first thing I heard when my eyes snapped open. I tried making sense of what's happening–who’s voices were those, and what was happening. And that was when I noticed my hands were tied behind my back, and I was on my knees.I looked around me, and all I could see were silhouettes of people surrounding me.I squinted my eyes in confusion, trying to make out the faces of everyone around me, who seemed both familiar and distant at the same time.Slowly, like a badly filmed movie, their faces became clearer, at the same time as the words they were chanting became much more clear.“Kill her!”“Kill the traitor!”“Burn her at the stakes!”The more the words echoed, the more the fog of confusion covering my mind cleared up.Their words and everything became painfully familiar–I was right back at the same night I was killed.“Keira Longhart,” a familiar voice called out coldly.Keira? Did they just call me Keira?I whipped my head in the direction o
