Chapter 0005

As I stared at the wolves growling at me, I looked around to see if there were any other patrols coming after me as well. But there weren’t. It was just these two stopping me. So that meant that they hadn’t mind linked anyone to come and help them. I still had my hands up and I put my head down, showing them that I definitely wasn’t a threat.

“If you let me pass, you will never see me in this territory again.” I announced. And I knew that is what everyone in this pack wanted of me. Especially since my father was arrested.

They both looked at each other and then they looked at me and saw the bag on my back and they stopped growling and one of them even nodded at me. So he let me pass and after I got past them I started running and kept running until I got to the border.

I was scared to make this step. I had never been outside of the territory before, and it was a little terrifying. But I made the step and I was out of the territory.

I looked back one last time before I started running further away from the pack that I knew as my home. But it wasn’t really. I didn’t have a home. I hadn’t had a home for a long time.

When I got far enough away I decided to stop and I made sure that there was no one around and I stripped off my clothes and I put them in my bag and then I felt my bones snapping and rearranging as I was shifting into that unique wolf that I was telling you about.

When I finished shifting I stood up tall, the same height as an Alpha. Which is very not normal for an omega. And my fur was as white as snow. Just like my hair with the same piercing blue eyes.

I picked my bag up in my mouth and I started running through the woods because it was a lot faster and I was a lot faster than most wolves for some reason.

I knew that I would get to the human town sooner but I decided to pass that town and go to the next one. Just to get a little distance away from the pack that I ran away from.

When I did finally get to the town that I was wanting to stop at I shifted back and got dressed and I walked into the town.

When I shifted the bandages had ripped off my arms and I noticed that there were still very noticeable wounds there. I thought shifting would have helped them heal, but I guess I was wrong. The stitches were still there somehow though. So I stopped at a drug store and I got some bandages and tape to wrap them up.

After that I found a bathroom at the park and I wrapped up my arms again, but I still kept my jacket on and I found my way to the bus terminal.

When I got there I went up to the counter and asked for a one way ticket.

The woman looked at me suspiciously and then saw the edges of the bandages and I could tell that she knew I was a runaway. But she didn’t say anything. She gave me the ticket and I went to sit down and wait for the bus to arrive. I still had a little while before it would be ready to leave.

I could feel a lot of people looking at me because the sleeves of my jacket didn’t completely cover the bandages on my arms and I knew that’s what they were looking at. But I tried to ignore them.

No one at school knew that I had actually chosen to use my credits to leave school yet, but the commander at the army facility could see on his computer that I had enough credits, even without having the graduation ceremony. That was basically just a party for the people who graduated. I didn’t care about that.

But I was thinking about Leo. I knew that he would be looking for me by now. Under the radar, of course. Unless the Alpha put him in charge of finding me. He would have been happy to do that. But as soon as he finds out that he is hunting me in order to secure me for the Alpha then he will hate himself.

And then I couldn’t help but wonder about dad. What are they going to do about him? I know that Olivia won’t change her story. She’ll stick to it and claim that he assaulted her. I know that she’s the type of person to keep it going all the way. Even if he is sentenced to death. There’s no way she would speak up and say that she lied. That meant that she would have to tell Owen the truth, and I truly believe that he doesn’t know the truth. But that’s just me. For all I know, he could have been in on the whole thing.

After what he did to me, how the hell could I be giving him the benefit of the doubt. I have to assume that the guys that attacked me all know the truth.

As I was sitting there waiting for the bus I suddenly caught a whiff of a scent that was too damn familiar. It was the scent of my pack. I turned to look at the door and I saw two large men walk into the terminal.

I quickly ducked down and I snuck around the seats, with a lot of people looking at me really weird.

I managed to get to the other end of the terminal, but there were too many people here for them to catch my scent. I was thankful for that.

I saw them go up to the woman that I bought the ticket from and they showed her a photo. But she shook her head no and said that she hadn’t seen the girl.

They kept looking around and she saw me hiding around the corner and I smiled at her before I ducked into the women's bathroom. But I knew that wouldn’t even stop them. They’d still look for me there.

So I went to the very end stall where the window was and I climbed up on the toilet and I managed to pull myself up to the window, even though I knew that I wasn’t at full strength. But I sat on the windowsill and I turned around and jumped down to the ground, just as I heard the door open to the bathroom.

They were checking all the stalls while I was hiding outside and I could hear them inside the room.

“She was here. Very recently. But she’s not now.” One of them said.

“Where could she have gone?” The other one asked.

“5 buses have already left today. She could have been on any of them. Who the hell knows.” He says.

“What are we going to tell the Alpha? He wants this girl and he is determined that we don’t come back without her.” The second one said, sounding very concerned.

“I don’t know why he wants an omega so desperately. Especially after what her father has just done.” The first one said.

I snuck around to the front of the building and I saw that my bus was finally there so I showed the driver my ticket and he let me on straight away.

So I climbed on the bus and I managed to escape them, by seconds. I ducked down in my seat as I saw them come out of the building and leave the bus terminal.

I could finally breathe, but that’s when the pain in my arm kicked in. I didn’t feel it in the adrenaline. So I pulled my sleeve up and saw that my left arm was bleeding.

I grabbed another bandage out of my bag and I took the old one off and put the new one on without dripping any blood on the bus. I didn’t want to get kicked off when I was this close to escaping. And luckily, I didn’t. I was out of there. At least, I hoped I was.

When everyone had boarded the bus we left that town and started heading down the highway and I had finally relaxed in my seat when we stopped suddenly. All I could see around me were woods and I got a sinking feeling in my stomach.

The driver opened the door and a man walked onto the bus and I immediately recognised him.

He showed a badge to the driver, pretending to be the police looking for someone. My heart started beating as fast as possible and I tried to hide my face. But I knew that wasn’t going to work.
