Chapter Forty Three - Xander

Raina looked tired and stressed out so I sent her back to bed. I didn’t get the chance to ask her how she was feeling but the dark circles under her eyes told me enough. I’m sure with last night’s alcohol and now the vision, she was tired and overwhelmed.

I wished I could take away her worries but I knew I didn’t need to. Raina was chosen for a reason and if anyone could handle it, it would be her.

I knew no matter what I did, I’d never be able to go back to sleep. All tiredness disappeared from my body the moment I saw Raina’s terrified look on the other side of my bedroom door. She looked like she’d seen a ghost and I was more than ready to tear apart the world to find out what had her so worried.

After Raina left my office, I called Alpha Marcus. Despite it being four in the morning, he answered on the second ring.

“Harvest Moon pack, Alpha Marcus speaking.”

“Good morning Alpha Marcus, this is Alpha Xander calling.”
