Chapter Forty Five - A Different Past

“What the hell…again?!” Lucy murmured in annoyance as she found herself once more in the dreamlike state that allowed her to watch events that had happened in her past, that she had been entirely unaware of.

It was a strange feeling, being an ethereal bystander as the people who had betrayed her so deeply went about their business in front of her.

She slid down the wall onto the ground next to Maia, as Maia yawned loudly and scratched behind her ears.

“I’ve had the pleasure of seeing this one multiple times when our link was severed,” Maia said in a bored tone, “Do you want me to tell you what happens?”

Lucy wrinkled her nose as she thought about it and shook her head.
