Prologue

Emily’s wrists ached as the rope cut into them. They were probably bleeding now, even though she had been trying not to struggle too much.. just to avoid that very thing. But when you were tied and trussed up the way she was, not struggling was a difficult task.

She was sore everywhere, and freezing. The cold winter night air cut straight through to her bones. The pillar she was tied to stood at one end of a round dirt lot where they had training. But this was no exercise… this was punishment.

She supposed she deserved it.. at least to some extent. She did do what she had been accused of. She had killed someone. And who had tied her here on this wooden scratchy post… to be mocked and made a spectacle of? None other than her husband, Nicklaus.

Emily looked around at the faces that had come to watch her punishment. The most frightened faces of them all were those of her two children, Luca and Olivia. At only seven and four, respectively, she had begged Nick to take the children away, and not let them watch this. But Nick being the alpha wolf that he was, had refused.

For her punishment, however unjustifiable it was, she was to receive thirty lashes. Thirty lashes for killing someone… and that had been, in her eyes, very justified.

Susan was her husbands sister, her sister in law, family. But she herself had committed the ultimate sin.

Chapter 1

Emily.

They had put her in the dungeon. As werewolves, this was a common occurrence in their world, however, for a Luna like Emily, it was not. She sat there on the cold hard floor, thinking about everything and wondering what would happen next.

She was sore and cold. Her body was fighting to recover and heal itself. Emily thought about what had brought her to this point.

Susan had been married to a man named Caron, who was the Alpha of another pack. They had a son named Andrew, he was close in age to her son, and the two of them were close. Recently, or the story that Nick had been told, Susan discovered her husband was having an affair, and she and her son were made to leave the pack. That’s why she had come here.

However, Emily was very suspicious about this. She knew that Susan had been unfaithful in the past, and wondered if it perhaps was her who had the affair and not Caron. Emily had found out years ago that Susan was secretly seeing another man, and had promised she wouldn’t say anything. It had been the night before Susan and Caron’s wedding when Emily walked in on them. However she told Susan she would keep her secret if the man left the pack, which he did. He ended up getting killed though, and because of this.. Susan hated Emily.

That had been ten long years ago. And now.. now she was here.. stuck in this cell. There was to be a trial, people would come from far and wide to watch it. A Luna on trial for murder, well that would be a sight to see.

But Emily didn’t care. She would do it again if given half the chance, and she would tell everyone that. They would all know what kind of person Susan really was when she got finished.

Emily stretched out her legs, the pain subsiding a little. As a werewolf, she healed faster than the normal person.. however… the cells inside the dungeon were made with limestone. And limestone was a mineral that blocked the werewolves healing ability… which was exactly why the dungeon was built with it.

Still, Emily was very young. Werewolves married younger than most humans, also they didn’t age in the same manner as they did. Instead of aging every year, it took werewolves around twice that long. So they only really aged every two years. She had been 17 when she and Nick tied the knot. In human years she would’ve been 27 however because they aged so slowly as a wolf she was barely 21 years old.

So her young age plus the fact that she was a Luna which added to her strength and abilities, she should be healing at a great speed. Still, she had endured hours and hours being tied to that pole, and the lashes on her back had cut deep into her skin.

Lashing a person for their sins seemed barbaric to her. She had long hated the ritual. But werewolf culture called for it, and changing the laws that had been in effect for centuries was not an easy task. The stipulation that the pack’s beta was the executioner of said lashes was another outdated occurrence in her opinion. However, she thought Felix was probably happy he finally got to inflict harm on her.

  • The Luna’s Choice    Chapter 171

Epilogue Emily The last few months had been the happiest in her life. She was overcome each and every day with the amount of peace and love she felt all around her. The pack had taken to her immediately. Everyone had each others backs here… everyone looked out for one another. There was no backstabbing and no secret plans of takeovers. She wasn’t worried constantly about someone trying to kill her. And .. best of all .. she had Lo. She had him all the time. Gone were the days of him having to leave. No more waiting weeks or months or years to see him. He was always there. She was settling into her Luna duties easily. She had done them for so long there wasn’t much to learn. The only difference was the Crow pack was massive in size compared to Nick’s pack. It was even bigger than her home pack so there was a lot of work to be done. But she didn’t mind it. Emily looked down at her arm.. the small crow tattoo looking back at her. She had gotten it right after the wedding. She sti

  • The Luna’s Choice    Chapter 170

Wedding continued Emily Emily could not stop the waterworks that were happening. Tears streaming down her face as she sobbed at the letter. She sat it down beside her and patted it gently while she tried to calm herself enough to look at the dress. When she pulled it from the box, she immediately began sobbing again. She had never seen anything so beautiful in her life. The dress itself was the lightest pinky-tan color on the bottom. It was sleeveless and the top was fitted and covered with white lace and flowers. The bottom was flowy and had several layers to it. The train was long and white and was also covered with flowers and lace. It was literally enchanting. And absolutely perfect. So she had her dress and decorations and food.. now she needed some bridesmaids. ~~~~~~~~~~When the day finally arrived Emily was a bundle of nerves. As a special gift to her and Lo, her dad had gotten ordained and was going to marry them. When he walked into the room where she was getting

  • The Luna’s Choice    Chapter 169

THE WEDDING EmilyFor the past couple of weeks, she had been working nonstop planning everything. She wasn’t the type of girl who had to have all the bells and whistles and sparkles, however, she did want everything to be perfect for her wedding. When she had married Nick, she had let Susan and Sophia make most of the decisions. And none of it had been what she would have chosen to do… so this time, she got to do it right. She knew they’d need a large area with tons of seating. People from all around would be coming. Several different packs from near and far would attend. People from her home pack of course, even people from Nick’s pack would come. Lorenzo’s pack would’ve filled an entire valley alone. So the first thing she did was find the perfect spot … and surprisingly.. or not.. it ended up being right outside her new cabin. There was a huge open space on one side of it. The other three sides were blocked off by a mountain, a lake, and a forest.. but the front of her house

  • The Luna’s Choice    Chapter 168

Emily Nothing had ever felt as good as this. She didn’t care that sticks and grass were poking into her back. She stared up through the trees to the stars in the sky.. or maybe that was just her vision because she was losing herself. Lo continued his onslaught with his tongue. He licked and sucked and kissed.. he added a finger, then another. She couldn’t be still. It was too much .. it felt too good. She squirmed and whimpered and cried out. “That’s it baby…” he said. Then he went back in… attacking her with his mouth. He slowed down then. Torturing her. But goddess it was good. He lazily flicked at her with his tongue.. every so slowly … growling and causing vibrations as she climbed higher and higher. “Loooo…” she breathed out. “Mmmmmm” he hummed into her. Her body began to shake as she kept going higher and higher. He picked up his speed.. he added another finger. His other hand held her open as he kept going faster and faster and faster…. She went over the edge. She

  • The Luna’s Choice    Chapter 167

Emily Emily couldn’t wait to see Lorenzo. Being away from him for two weeks was killing her. Of course she had enjoyed her time at home. She loved seeing her dad and Brian and Maeve and June. She had gotten to snuggle little Charlie … and it was as if Charlotte was there with her. She wished they could all live in the same pack together. Her and Lo, their children… her brothers and dad and Maeve and now the baby. And Juniper of course. If she could just have them all with her every day.. it would be a little piece of heaven here on earth. She got to tell Andrew that he was officially adopted. They both hugged each other and cried. He asked her if that meant he could call her mom now .. and she smiled so big her cheeks had hurt. “Yes Andrew. You absolutely can call me mom.” It had been a beautiful reunion with all her children. But now she was headed back to Lo’s pack.. which would soon be her own. Alan and Collins were returning as well in a couple of days. Alan stayed a lit

  • The Luna’s Choice    Chapter 166

Lorenzo Emily had been gone back to her pack for only a couple of days, and already he was losing it being away from her. The hole she left behind was sucking the life out of him. He was moody and felt sick.. and bit the head off anyone who looked at him sideways. She would be returning soon… with the kids. He just had to hold off a little longer. He knew she needed this time with her dad and June and the rest of her family. Alan had gone too and taken Collins. Lo still couldn’t get over how that had all worked out but he was glad. Alan was the best fit for Collins. He knew they’d make each other happy, and he was happy for them both. Alan was one of his best friends and had the biggest heart, just like his sister. He was more like a brother to Lo.. him and Brian. Although Emily never got anywhere near the sister category. But they’d grown up together. The truth was Alan and Collins were a perfect fit. They bounced off each other in the best ways. Alan would bring Collins out o
