Georgina Sinclair's POV:

Alpha Marius has been persistent.

It's been two days since the first message and I should have stop replying him by now. That would have been the smart and safest thing to do. But instead, I keep replying to him.

Sometimes my replies are short. Sometimes it's sharp or with just enough sarcasm to bait him. But only those who are aware of his influence on others can afford his responses which are always so simple. Even worse, I find myself waiting for his next message more and more as it drags on.

Most of our conversations are tense. It's half business and half banter. His questions about the Silver Project are strategic and precise. And yet it somehow always loops the conversation back into something that hovers at the edge of personal. He is playing a dangerous game with me.

And the fact that I am playing it back bothers me.

    Georgina Sinclair's POV:Soon, we finally reach his office. I step inside first and do a quick scan of the room and mostly just grateful for the physical barrier between us and the rest of the population who just witnessed that elevator disaster. Alpha Marius follows after me and still draped in that stupidly casual blanket like he's some Roman emperor on vacation."Make yourself comfortable." he said while he walked towards a cabinet on the other side of the room. Alpha Marius leaves me for a moment to go to his private room. Seeing this, I let out a sigh before sitting on a chair and burying my face in my hands. Soon, the panel slides open again and Alpha Marius shows up. He is now fully dressed this time in a dark blue button-up and slacks that are somehow both tailored and smug. My eyes lift just long enough to confirm the shirt is buttoned all the way up."Finally." I muttered while letting my shoulders drop.     Georgina Sinclair's POV:In the end, I gave in and rode Alpha Marius' back. And when we get to the edge of the woods, I am clinging to Marius' thick fur and mentally making a list of all the deities I am going to yell at later for putting me in this position.Because riding on the back of a massive Alpha wolf was not on my vision board.When he finally slows down, I can feel his body moving under me. His muscles are flexing and his fur are rising with a short gust of breath.     Georgina Sinclair's POV:I look around when we finally leaves the hut. The ground is now soft and soggy. I hug myself when the chilling air passes by. It's still early and there is no cars or distant engines on the road. Alpha Marius is standing beside me with his blanket-turned-cloak over his broad shoulders like some ancient warrior prince. I try not to think about how good he looks even when the world is rainy and miserable. Then he leads me back to his parked SUV.We walk toward it together but I can already feel a deep pit forming in my gut. Marius opens the door, gets in and turns the key.The engine sputters for a second. And then... Nothing. He tries to start the engine again. The cool air is still lingering in the hut despite the sunlight peeking in. But I feel oddly lighter although I can't quite explain why.I glance at Alpha Marius again.He just finished wiping his face using a damp towel. And he is still half naked. Soon, I find myself staring at the side of his collarbone once more that I have to shake my head to get my eyes to stop."Are you going to be half-naked all day?" I asked.Alpha Marius looks at me over his shoulder with a grin that is far too smug for someone who just woke up next to a pile of ashes and damp logs."If you can miraculously produce a shirt for me out of thin air, I swear in my honor that I will wear it and never remove it again." he said while stretching his arms above his head.     Georgina Sinclair's POV:The sunlight coming from the window wakes me up. My lashes flutter open slowly and I feel reluctant to leave my good sleep behind. The gentle brightness of morning is entering in from the hut's narrow window and it is landing directly on my face and it is forcing me to finally wake up. So the storm has finally passed. There is the faint chirping of birds outside the hut. But above all, the thunder has stopped. Seeing this, I try to remove the blankets from my shoulders.'Wait a minute. Blankets?' I blink my eyes again until my mind becomes clearer now. There is a familiar weight over me. I recall this thick fur lining was placed next to Alpha Marius last night.I look around and sees Alpha Marius is sitting on the wooden floor beside the fireplace. His head is leaning back on the stone wall and still fast asleep. And he is still very much half-naked.My eyes widened at the sight. His chest steadily rises and falls.
