Georgina Sinclair's POV:

I check the time again.

An hour has passed.

Then two.

Then nearly three.

Each time the door opens and the tiny bell above it chimes, I lift my eyes. And each time, it's someone else. There was an elderly couple, a trio of businessmen, a woman in a yellow dress who laughs too loudly.

But never Ryan.

Never the person I've been waiting for tonight.

The wine in my glass has long turned warm. I've only had one and Clara had already refilled it twice. She always have a hopeful smile on her face that she tries to mask with professionalism. She's tactful. But I know pity when I see it.

Eventually, she comes again. Her steps are quiet, tentative. She folds her hands politely in front of her as she stops beside my table.

"Luna Georgina..." she begins gently." Would you like to order now? I'm sure Alpha Ryan is just... held up. Sometimes work just doesn't let go. Even the most important person in this city can experience it."

I look up at her. I can feel the corner of m

  • The Luna's Redemption   Relying

Georgina Sinclair's POV:I don't say anything right away. I just stare at the documents resting on his lap then up at him. His face looks so calm and unbothered. Like organizing my freedom was no more than ticking off a to-do list.No one has ever done this for me before. Not like this. Not with quiet intention and no strings attached. My chest tightens again.Marius notices my expression. Of course he does. His amused eyes twinkle and his lips moves into a smirk."Be careful." he teased. "Are you getting emotional?"I blink. "What?"He leans closer to me. My stomach flutters each time he drops his voice into that low and amused rumble."I would gladly accept a kiss as a down payment if you are that moved."I let out a soft laugh. I am half flustered and half grateful for how he is attempting to relieve the tension."A kiss?"He tilts his head in mock-considering. "Well if that's too much, I also accept hugs. Or intense eye contact for ten uninterrupted seconds. I'm flexible."I lau

  • The Luna's Redemption   A Quiet Action

Georgina Sinclair's POV:I stand up and adjusts my coat. My heart feels a little heavier yet somehow lighter after the conversation. "Thank you for everything." I told Old Keith softly. He gives me a kind smiles that will always reminds me of a father who knew too much but said just enough. "No need for thanks, my dear. Just promise me one thing. Keep walking forward. You should only look back to remind yourself of your progress."I give him a quiet nod and blinking away the tears forming in my eyes. "I'll call Ver now."He raise a hand as I turn to leave. "Georgina."I look back."Do your plans now while the pack is in the middle of confusion." he said in an almost casual voice. "That way, you can leave with less resistance."I blink my eyes in surprise."That's not how a council member should talk." I said with a tired smile and teasing him despite the ache in my chest.Old Keith chuckles. "Maybe not. But I am not just a council member." he calmly said. "But I am an old man who

  • The Luna's Redemption   Trust and Sincerity

Georgina Sinclair's POV:The air smells faintly of rosemary and firewood when I step into the small and secluded restaurant that I mentioned to Ver earlier. It's quiet and there's no crowd during this hour. There is also a fireplace on the far side of the room and creating a warm light over everything. It's the kind of place chosen for privacy and relaxation.I spot Ver immediately. She is sitting across from Old Keith who looks exactly the same as I remember him."Luna Georgina." Ver greeted while standing up with a soft smile. "Hello, Ver." I greeted back with a smile.Old Keith does not stand up, but he nods when I approach him."I am happy to see you again, child." he said in a deep voice."I feel the same, Old Keith." I sincerely said before bowing my head in respect. Then Ver glances between us. "I will give you two some space." she said before walking towards the exit. "Call me after."I watch Ver for a moment before I sit down across from Old Keith who looks at me with a qui

  • The Luna's Redemption   Hearty Breakfast

Georgina Sinclair's POV:As promised, I am now eating my late breakfast with Marius. I am sitting at the same spot Lydia led me to yesterday. But only this time, Marius is sitting directly across from me. There is a faint warmth in the space between us. It is more than just the sunlight and more than the fresh coffee steaming in the porcelain cups.Eating with Marius feels oddly normal and I like it. The table is full of food like soft rolls, butter, honey, fruit and some kind of savory stew that Lydia called a hearty soup. There's also crispy bacon and slices of cheese arranged with lazy care.Marius is eating his food quietly. His manners are neat and simple. He occasionally looks at me to make sure I am eating. Whenever I reach for something, he gently pushes it closer. I pretend not to notice every time he does.We exchange small talk about books, weather and funny remarks from Lydia about how my chapter binge last night might have caused a spiritual disturbance in the study. I la

  • The Luna's Redemption   Goodnight Kiss

Georgina Sinclair's POV:All of the light in my room comes from my screen. My fingers are moving quickly on the keyboard on the screen as I type the words in my mind. I am currently reviewing the final document of the day before sending it to my business partner via email. It feels surreal but it's slso strangely peaceful.I'm in my own world. The words are pouring from some place deep inside me when I hear it.A knock. There is someone knocking on the door before the creak of the door slowly opens. I don't even glance up at first. I am assuming it's Lydia. Maybe she is here to remind me to sleep or stretch or eat something that is not toast. But then the smell hits me. It's a familiar scent from an Alpha mixing with chocolate and sugar in it. I blink and finally lift my head. It's Marius. And he is holding a mug. The steam from it is curling above into a swirl. For a moment, I just stare at him because... This is definitely unexpected.Marius enters as if it is not surprising that he

  • The Luna's Redemption   Motherly Advice

Marius Peddleton's POV:It was already well midnight when I finally stepped out of my office. My neck feels stiff and my patience is running low. Harry had hovered over me like a damn hawk the entire day and practically chaining me to the desk until I signed at least half of the documents cluttering it.By the time I made it back to the estate, my body is already longing for a long shower and sleep. But there is a part of me that is more concerned about someone else. I do not think anyone will be awake. But Lydia is still awake. She is sitting by the fireplace and holding a thick bundle of cloth in her lap and a needle between her fingers. She had a lamp beside her and her glasses were positioned low on her nose. She looked up as I walked inside the estate. The corners of her mouth lifting. "There you are, Alpha Marius."I gave her a tired smile. "You're still up?" "I could say the same to you." she said with a pointed look before tying off a thread and setting her work down. "Did
