Alisa Han's POV:

I did not get much sleep after that day. My mind was racing with a lot of questions and I was hoping to get the answers.

But something in Ver's face yesterday kept echoing in my head. Whatever had happened, it wasn't that simple. And if it was serious enough for Harry to rush out of the hospital and make a call to Alpha Marius, then it had to be something more than Annie just being discharged.

By the time morning came, my hands were cold from worry.

Now, I sat in the car beside Ver. Alpha Marius was waiting in the office and Harry was taking us there. It was too quiet inside the car. Ver had her eyes glued to the window and Harry had not said a word since we had left the mansion. Her usual warmth was replaced by a hard and unreadable calm.
