Calian POV

By the time I calmed Dessa down for her to sleep, morning was upon me and it was time to head to training.

She needed to remain strong for our son, he needed a strong mother…not a mother crying into my shoulder at night, only falling asleep due

to pure exhaustion.

It isn’t the first time this has happened, and it won’t be the last…unless Balgaire’s healer does their job. Dessa is asking for me to put my faith into this working, in our son surviving long enough to shift…but I’m sceptical.

Even if he survives to adolescence, the doctors stated he wouldn’t be able to shift.

Besides, it wouldn’t be the first time Balgaire has over exaggerated his abilities as an alpha, the skills of his pack.

I can already smell him, that faint scent of another alpha already in my office, the stench of him lingering outside the hallway.

Not only has he arrived, but he has also allowed himself in.
