Astrid.

I pushed the door further and took a few steps inside. I had arranged things inside this room and never touched anything while I was here. But this didn't look like the room I had kept in that neat order. The bed was scattered. The blue floral bedspread that was on the bed had been taken off, leaving just a piece of a white sheet on the bed with a hideous brown stain on it. Not only that, but the bed was filled with rat droppings.

Even the gold couch that was in this room was gone. I quickly made my way to the closet. I let out a gasp at the empty closet. This couldn't be. What happened? What did they do?

Jarvis let someone get in here even after he knew how protective I was of this place for my mother.

Of course, he couldn’t have been careless. He let her do whatever she wanted, and he didn't bother about it because none of it was his.

After I brought him and his parents here, I even made him the Alpha of my pack, and he couldn't protect what was mine.

I didn't waste any time

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   She knows what's going on

AstridWe had no idea how we were going to do this, but we decided to go anyway. Just Soren and I. If the dream was a vision, then we had to give it a try. If this was going to stop everything, then we had to risk it.We researched if there was another route to reach Sigma without necessarily passing through Raven Pack. We found a route that was farther than if we had passed through Raven Pack. We didn't want to raise any alarms, because passing through it would mean we had to ask for directions. We drove for almost five hours before stopping at the end of a muddy road. The road didn't go any further from there. The area around us was covered in a thick green forest."There should definitely be a road somewhere around here," Soren said as he looked around. The road didn't look like people visited this area.It was quiet and lonely, and the chirping of birds could be heard far off."Yes, there should be." And if there wasn't, then we were going to find a way. We couldn't leave this pla

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   Sigma Land

AstridHe promised to come for me after he managed to run away before Varun and the others could make their way to my quarters.I couldn't hold him down. I wished I had. If I had, we wouldn't be worried about someone invading the pack ever again because he would have been dead by now, and I would have helped make that happen. On the other hand, the Frostborn haven't stopped with the fires. It has been rampant on the East Side, far away from where they were located. This came weeks after the burning down of the pack. We were literally confused and didn't know what to do. No one in Veridian could come up with a possible solution to solve it, not even the great tellers. The stone itself hasn't been of any help either. I haven't been able to talk to it. It was such that I was beginning to wonder if the information Soren had brought to me was the right one.But I knew he couldn't lie to me. The fault could be on the tellers' end. She must have said the wrong thing. Like, since when did a s

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   The ambush

AstridWhat were we supposed to handle right now? The Frost Born, Eridecse, or Jarvis, who had suddenly escaped. I had asked the guards to check on him the day some buildings in the pack were burned, and he was there in his cell. But just yesterday, they told me that he had escaped. How he was able to escape with that many guards at the door was beyond me. At this point, I could certainly tell that something was going on. Someone inside this pack was helping them escape, and it wouldn't take me long to find them. When I do, they will regret betraying me in this manner.Even the army we had sent outside couldn't get a hold of him. I should have let Soren get rid of them the moment he wanted to. I shouldn't have stopped him. No one knew where they were or what they were planning to do. They could be plotting something bad or probably forming an alliance."Are you sure you want to come with us?" one of the men standing outside with me asked. I glanced up at him, and he stepped out of my

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   The Strike

Astrid The frosts born were the first creatures to have lived in viridian in 18 BC. However, their reign wasn’t the best. At that time, they were called the dark rogues; their ruling wasn’t the best as their king treated his subjects badly. Even some of the packs members treated fought amongst themselves. He never allowed anyone who was not part of Veridian to get into the land. The story was that, he slept with the women in his pack. When he was tired of them, he would kill them and get rid of your head. The skin on your skull would be taken off; he would then use their skull as his drinking cup. It was quite scary story indeed. I almost didn’t continue the story to the end because it sounded similar to that of my father. He was a chronic cheat. The only difference between him and the dark rogue was that, he didn’t kill and drink from his victims’ skull. Their king was the worse person to ever rule. It was such that other nations had to intervene. Nothing much was written about th

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   The Harvest

Astrid. What exactly was going on? I had been mad at Soren for leaving to see the fortune teller without letting me know, but every thought of that had evaporated from my mind when he told me what he encountered: the Frostborn and what they had told him.I had seen them firsthand, and one couldn't take them to be the type of creatures to talk.Everything was quite confusing at this point. They wanted us to let go, to stop attacking them. They just wanted what belonged to them—the land. We couldn't just sit back and do nothing. Something needed to be done, and it had to be done quickly. He told me about the stone. It didn't have to leave the pack. After Eridesce had escaped, I had checked the stone, and it was where I had kept it.I didn't bother about the other things he had told me about the stone. I was more concerned about the Frostborn.I think it was high time I found out about these Frostborn, their history, and what they were all about. We had talked about it, and he had said h
