Astrid.

What exactly was going on? I had been mad at Soren for leaving to see the fortune teller without letting me know, but every thought of that had evaporated from my mind when he told me what he encountered: the Frostborn and what they had told him.

I had seen them firsthand, and one couldn't take them to be the type of creatures to talk.

Everything was quite confusing at this point. They wanted us to let go, to stop attacking them. They just wanted what belonged to them—the land. We couldn't just sit back and do nothing. Something needed to be done, and it had to be done quickly. He told me about the stone. It didn't have to leave the pack. After Eridesce had escaped, I had checked the stone, and it was where I had kept it.

I didn't bother about the other things he had told me about the stone. I was more concerned about the Frostborn.

I think it was high time I found out about these Frostborn, their history, and what they were all about.

We had talked about it, and he had said h

Astrid The frosts born were the first creatures to have lived in viridian in 18 BC. However, their reign wasn’t the best. At that time, they were called the dark rogues; their ruling wasn’t the best as their king treated his subjects badly. Even some of the packs members treated fought amongst themselves. He never allowed anyone who was not part of Veridian to get into the land. The story was that, he slept with the women in his pack. When he was tired of them, he would kill them and get rid of your head. The skin on your skull would be taken off; he would then use their skull as his drinking cup. It was quite scary story indeed. I almost didn’t continue the story to the end because it sounded similar to that of my father. He was a chronic cheat. The only difference between him and the dark rogue was that, he didn’t kill and drink from his victims’ skull. Their king was the worse person to ever rule. It was such that other nations had to intervene. Nothing much was written about th

Astrid.I pushed the door further and took a few steps inside. I had arranged things inside this room and never touched anything while I was here. But this didn't look like the room I had kept in that neat order. The bed was scattered. The blue floral bedspread that was on the bed had been taken off, leaving just a piece of a white sheet on the bed with a hideous brown stain on it. Not only that, but the bed was filled with rat droppings.Even the gold couch that was in this room was gone. I quickly made my way to the closet. I let out a gasp at the empty closet. This couldn't be. What happened? What did they do?Jarvis let someone get in here even after he knew how protective I was of this place for my mother.Of course, he couldn’t have been careless. He let her do whatever she wanted, and he didn't bother about it because none of it was his. After I brought him and his parents here, I even made him the Alpha of my pack, and he couldn't protect what was mine.I didn't waste any time

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   The Whispers

SorenThe metallic smell of blood filled the air around me. The smell of dead bodies and burning hair. I looked around but couldn't find a single soul due to the dark smoke that was thick in the air. They killed everyone. No one was left alive. My head was in shambles as I looked around, trying to set eyes on the only person I cared about since everyone else was long dead and the rest burned in a fire."Astrid!" I cried out, walking around in circles hoping to find her somewhere hiding from these creatures. The creatures that had come to destroy us and finally did. They took everything away from me."Astrid," I called again, walking towards an entrance in front of me that was covered with grass and little to no smoke in the area. Perhaps I could see something from there. My right hand was against my bleeding chest as I staggered towards it, hoping to see her alive or dead, although I dreaded the latter because I would die with her.I stopped at the entrance and glanced around. My hear

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   Escape

AstridI cringed every time Soren lifted the flogger up and lashed it down on Eridesce's backside. She had been screaming the entire time, but Soren didn't seem to care at all.I shouldn't be feeling this about her lying on that slab and getting flogged like a thief. She had watched them do the same thing to me. I shouldn't feel this way. However, I couldn't bring myself to watch it."Done for the day." Some kind of relief washed over me when those words left Soren's mouth. I didn't have to be the one to say them. Yeah, some guilt just left me."We can continue with her afterwards, if you so wish." He turned to me as he handed the flogger to the guard standing next to him."Yes. Maybe tomorrow." My eyes moved over to the slab where the guards were untying her from the ropes. Just as expected, she was weak and couldn't even stand on her own.Her body must be so warm inside. Just a taste of her own medicine. She thought she could get away with it, but she had something else coming her w

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   Delicious Snack

Astrid"He said he'd take you away from me." I looked at him in confusion, my hands holding his bruised knuckles. He said he'd take me away from him. Who was that, and why would they say that?"Who said that?" I demanded, knowing that I had no ties with anyone who would say such a thing, and the fact that he got into a fistfight with them meant that it was serious."Jarvis, of course. Who else would say that if not him?" I closed my eyes and tried to pretend that he didn't say that. Jarvis didn't say that. How dare he, when he was supposed to be low-key and not say anything that would lead to his quick demise?I brought his knuckles up to my lips and placed a kiss on them. Then I gave him an assured look."You don't have to worry about what he said. I guess he was just trying to get to you."I tiptoed and placed a kiss on his lips."I'm right here with you."He cocked his brow like he was having a hard time believing what I was saying."Don't go close to him, please. I don't want to l
