Darson didn't let me leave his side as we got to Blueridge. The place wasn't even amongst the locals. It was far away, at the edge of the pack's territory.

"Stay behind me," Darson said as he focused on the wolf standing at the door, his back to us. He was facing the distance.

Just as we got closer to him, he turned back, and before he could do anything, Darson stabbed him in the neck. He slumped to the floor, blood oozing down the side of his neck.

I nodded as he turned to look at me. The other guys had gone behind the house. "Have you mind-linked him yet?" I asked, feeling restless. He had asked me not to do anything. All I wanted was for him to update me on what was going on. We needed to know where he was so that we could go right there and get him.

"He's been locked in a dark room for days, and he doesn't know exactly which place. But I think it should be around here."

I looked around the deserted area. The building in front of us was the only one around this place, althou

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   Valency

SorenIt's been three days, and I have been able to leave my room. The only thing I have been able to do so far was to take a bath with the help of crutches. I hated this. I wanted to be out there, finding who was behind all this. To make them pay the best I knew how. There hasn't been any news on Jarvis. He wasn't at Blueridge. He must have taken off, knowing that we might go back there to look for him. He had to disappear. He better be gone for good. Everyone related to him would have to pay if I ever come across them.I was at the table eating the breakfast that Lena had brought for me when the door to my room opened without a knock, and Darson walked inside. A solemn expression was on his face. The expression he had been carrying for days.It was basically the same expression everyone in the pack was carrying around."Still no news on him, right?" He must be getting tired of my questions. However, I couldn't just keep quiet even after they told me there was no news."No news on As

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   They killed her

SorenThere was an ache around both of my wrists, my back, and even around my neck.I couldn't sit up properly. My eyes peered open, and I looked down at my right hand when I felt a sharp pain at the back of my hand. An IV drip was connected to my hand. My eyes moved up to the white liquid in the bag dripping through the narrow white tube and into my body.My eyes left the bag and slowly took in my surroundings. I saw the table and the couch, which told me that I was in my room.Astrid wasn't here. Nobody was here. Where had they gone? What happened to me? I tried to remember my last activities. It only ended when Astrid and I had gone to Sigma. She had gone to the car to look for the stone. She couldn't find it. She had immediately notified me, and when I turned around, someone was behind her. They were dressed in a black overall with black masks on their faces. My free hand grabbed the edge of the bed as I tried to see if I could stand up. I had to lay back down when the hurt in my

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   Mickey

Astrid"Mickey!" I cried as I watched her disappear down into the forest. "Why would you do that? She was just a horse."I turned, tears in my eyes, but they were already gone. This was Soren's horse, and he loved her very much. They killed her. They just had to kill. For what reason? Didn't they understand what I said? I wasn't there when all of this started. They should have come before now to claim what was rightfully theirs and not come now when I didn't know anything about what was going on.I stood there. The rain had started to drip and then it came down heavily. I didn't know what to do. I slumped down to the muddy floor and sat with my legs stretched out. What was I supposed to do now?'Mickey is gone,' I had to mind-link Willa. I didn't know who else to call except her. I had no idea if Darson was already back from the search. Willa was the only one left to call.'What happened? Where are you?' a scared mind-link came through almost immediately."I went to Emberelaw pack. I

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   The conversation

Astrid. It was obvious that the dead couldn't talk, nor could they hear us. This wasn't where I was supposed to lay my worries, but then, I had no choice but to do this. After getting a review of the pack's activities, I decided to leave. Darson and the others should have some information back.I didn't know what I would do if they came back with nothing. I needed to find him.He had to be somewhere. Someone must have taken him. If I didn't get any answers, then Valency would have some answers to give me, especially about how she knew about Jarvis coming to my room and that Soren was taken. She had been gone for the longest time and decided to show up just now with accusing fingers.Mickey and I rode in the darkness. I wasn't my usual self. I didn't use the shortcut through Facklor.I rode slowly, leaving my mind to wander with different thoughts—different places I could search for Soren. But nothing came to mind. Darson had gone to the Raven pack and then Dark Circus, but there was n

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   Letting the sobs out

AstridI was still trying to digest what had just come out of her mouth when I felt eyes on me, a questioning gaze penetrating into my body as if trying to find the answers to what she was saying."Don't just sit there and pretend like you don't know what's going on. You clearly planned all this."She stared at me with dark intensity, as if she actually meant what she was saying."What nonsense are you talking about?" I had to stand up and face her square on.What nonsense was she talking about? What was she playing at?Was she doing all this to get back at me after she claimed I came to the pack and took Soren? She had been on this crusade for the longest time, and I was pretty sure that was exactly what she was doing."This is a delicate moment, and you just go around using people like that, Valency. That could bring some serious problems. You know that wouldn't be funny like it is now."Darson said, probably seeing through what the girl was trying to do. He sounded uninterested.Ho
