NARRATIVE POV

The pain was crippling. Oliver bent over, bracing himself with his palms pressed onto his trembling knees.

A pack member's bond to the pack had just snapped, and Ranked members would always feel the departure worse than any other pack member, but an Alpha feels the tear in their heart.

Especially when it was someone closer to them, and Oliver knew immediately that it was Frankie.

The intensity of the pain told him that she didn’t simply disband from the pack; he felt her life snap. She died.

Ryner rushed into the office, not bothering to knock. His eyes were puffy and red, his hair was a mess, and his face was flushed and tear-stained. He felt his sister die through the family bond and needed to get Oliver to search for her. Although the pain coursing through him told him that she was dead, he needed to find her. He refused to believe that his sister was gone.

They may have been distant with each other over the years, but he still cared for Frankie deeply, much deeper tha

EPILOGUE (4 years) CONT’D Brea and Oliver spent half the year travelling outside the pack. They would always visit packs and educate those who sought knowledge. Brea thought about how well Jess had absorbed everything she learned, and she had most recently started a class for basic herbal healing practices for the average wolf—using her knowledge and understanding of herbology to teach those how to heal themselves if ever injured and alone in the woods. Which plants are safe to eat? Identify the poisonous plants and those which can cure mild ailments. The course was becoming wildly popular and more frequently demanded by smaller packs with fewer pack healers readily available. Slowly, Oliver and Brea were bridging the gap in their misunderstanding of the wolfen and magick realm. They hope that by the time their three-year-old twin daughters, Helena and Natalie, are of age, there won’t be a stigma or divide, and hybrid witches will be more welcomed and accepted into packs or as membe

EPILOGUE (4 years) “Logan,” Frankie called out from the bottom of the stairs. “Tanny?” Frankie shook her head with a soft smile while she waited for her two favourite slowpokes to finish getting ready so that they could head out. Today, Frankie, Tristan and their three-year-old son, Logan, were heading out for their annual trip to the Cherry Ridge pack to visit their family. Ryner and Courtney, with their two-year-old daughter, Lily, were already waiting outside with the two cars. Typically, they fly every year, but both Ryner and Tristan got it in their heads that a road trip with two toddlers would be a great idea. Frankie rubbed her slightly rounded belly and huffed. "Hopefully, you're more sensible than your silly father and your equally silly big brother." Just then, both of the doors upstairs opened, and two equally whiny males walked out. Logan, who had been dressed at one point, was now half undressed, holding a single sock, while Tristan held her spare phone charger in c

HENRIETTA (HILARY) POV “You're talking about what? Dark Sister or perhaps the Goddess? Please, they have yet to find me, and even if they did. They can’t enter. This house is protected against them. I’m not the idiot you claim me to be, but you are. Now get out!” “Very well. I brought you something. Let's call it a housewarming gift.” Tia turns, and I watch Miles hand my sister a small stone figure. I squint suspiciously. “What is it?” “A vendor we passed on our travels across the country for this book tour said it was for home blessings. We were bringing it back to the pack, but let's call this our parting gift instead. This will be the last time we see one another.” “Good. Now take my leftovers,” I point to Miles with a sneer. “And get out.” “Goodbye, Hilary. May you get what it is you truly deserve.” With that, both Tia and Miles left. I slammed the door aggressively behind them and turned back to the stone figure. It was solid stone; the figure was a cloaked female with hor

HENRIETTA (HILARY) POV I sat relaxed on the sofa. I was casually flicking through the stations, looking for a reality TV show to watch to fill the time. I was currently hiding within one of the most isolated properties in the country that I knew my father owned. Few knew all the things my father had his hands on, but I did. I watched everything, noted all the details, and took careful note of committing the locations and safehouses listed under aliases to memory. Michael and I used a few in the beginning before the Royals tracked them down, but it seemed as if the search for me was over. It’s been nearly a year, and no one has found me. I have successfully diverted Dark Sister and the Goddess, not once but twice. It was almost embarrassing how easily they could be avoided. So much for all-knowing. I chuckled at the thought of how hopeless they seemed to be at their roles and settled on Love Island UK. Hopelessly shallow people looking for lust and celebrity-ism under the pretens

DARK SISTER POV With every resurrection I perform, the victim rises and, almost always, finds love in the end, while I return to my thoughts. It is easy to be depressed when all you have is darkness to cuddle at night. Selene sighs and moves forward. I don’t bother to look at her; my focus is on the sleeping trio. They looked calm and unaware, but even lying down with their eyes shut, they watched. All my wolves watched when visitors arrived. Friend or food, that was all they knew. And I only had one visitor to never feast on, and that was my sister. My only source of grounding. “Ester, I know you feel unloved, undesired and lonely, and that isn’t right. Your station matters too much for the creators to ignore your singular desire. So, I have an offering for you.” Curious, but I remain unmoved. As Keepers, we thrived on making offers and deals; it was how we battered, as it was the only true currency in our reality. She continues to move closer to me. “You should know, you have cau

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 157

DARK SISTER POV I knew I shouldn’t be festering on it. I knew I needed to let it go and stop wallowing, but how can I? When my sisters and I died, we died together. Selene and I were cut down that day side by side, while our elder sister, the strong and brave warrior spirit of us all, rushed out ahead in an attempt to fight off the pillagers of our small village. The ninth century was harsh, and most would never understand that, even though they strove for more rights every day, when my sisters and I were alive, our only right was to breathe, but even then, it was with purpose. We worked on the farm for our parents, took care of the house, and prepared for a marriage arranged by our father. When the pillagers rode into our village, we did not stand a chance. We weren’t soldiers of war; we were labourers. I watched my sister being brutalized, and my very last thought was to avenge her. She was always the strongest, but her cries still fuel me in my role, even today. When we ascend
