The heavy iron doors of the Valehold Citadel's grand ballroom groaned under the weight of centuries of dark secrets. I didn’t have time to admire the architecture and the beautiful palace.

Two towering guards stepped into my path, their massive frames casting long shadows over the stone floor.

Their eyes flashed a deadly yellow as they caught my scent or rather, the fake, sweet scent of a minor pack diplomat’s daughter provided by my Moonveil potion.

Lyra The heavy iron doors of the Valehold Citadel's grand ballroom groaned under the weight of centuries of dark secrets. "Invitation," the larger guard barked, his voice vibrating in his chest. Instead of reaching for a slip of paper, I moved with speed. I lunged forward, sliding low beneath the first guard’s arm. My fingers clamped around the base of the silver dagger hidden in my gown. I didn't draw the blade…killing a royal guard in the doorway would ruin the entire night…But I drove the handle of my blade into his guts. He choked, air exploding from his lungs as he doubled over. The second guard lunged, his claws extending, but I was al

  • The Luna they rejected    Chapter Three: Shadows Of Revenge

The night air of the Bloodmoon Pack territory was thick with the scent of pine trees, roasted meat, and the sickeningly sweet fragrance of Jasmine’s favorite lilies. It was the night of the Solstice Gala. While Kade and his new Luna celebrated their stolen reign inside the brightly lit packhouse, I was in the dark woods, executing their downfall. "Move in," I whispered through my mindlink. On my command, three of my shadow wolves slipped past the western border guards. Over the last few weeks, we had been bleeding Kade’s pack dry, launching strikes against his borders, sabotaging his supply lines, and draining his resources from the dark. Tonight was the ultimate strike. While they drank wine, we were dismantling his security piece by piece. I moved through the underbrush, my new golden blonde hair braided tightly and my emerald-green eyes tracking every movement in the courtyard. Thanks to the Moonveil potion, I didn't look or smell like Lyra Black anymore. I was a str

  • The Luna they rejected    Chapter two: Rebirth In The Valley

Lyra The shadow that tore through the mist didn't just attack the rouges… it killed them. A monstrous, dark wolf, easily twice the size of Alpha Kade, slammed into the leader before I could even blink. The sickening crunch of a snapping spine echoed through the canyon. Blood sprayed across the damp moss splattering on my face. The remaining four rogues didn't wait to fight…they fled, scattering into the fog like cowards, their terrified whimpers fading into the distance. I gasped, a jagged piece of my own rib piercing my lung as the giant beast turned its glowing, amber eyes toward me. The pressure radiating from it was suffocating. ‘Alpha... King...’ Nyx whimpered in the deep recesses of my mind, her voice a fragile thread before she went entirely silent, slipping into a coma. The wolf didn't strike. Instead, it let out one last, earth-shaking growl, turned, and melted back into the shadows of Blackthorn Valley. I didn't have time to process the miracle. The world was spi

  • The Luna they rejected    Chapter one : The Fall Of Lyra Black

Lyra The air in my lungs tasted like copper and burning pine. ‘Run,’ Nyx roared in my mind, her voice was like a fractured, wild echo of the wolf she used to be. ‘They are coming. Run!’ I didn't need her to tell me. The barks of the Bloodmoon wolves tore through the midnight air, sharp enough to slice through the trees of the Northern Territories. Twigs whipped me across my face, cutting my cheeks, but I couldn't feel the pain. My bare feet slammed against rocks and damp moss of the forest floor, slippery with the blood I had spilled only an hour ago. My own hands were stained in it. The deep, damning red of my packmates. It had been the full moon. The night of my ascension. I was supposed to stand beside Alpha Kade Ashford as the proud Luna-in-waiting of the most powerful pack in Silvermist. Instead, something inside me had snapped. Nyx hadn’t just shifted…she had transformed to a terrifying beast. A volatile, monstrous transformation that blocked out my consciousness a

  • The Luna they rejected    Chapter Five: The King's Face

Lyra The morning light cut through the heavy velvet curtains, shattering the reckless haze of the night before. I bolted upright, my heart hammering against my ribs. The bed was cold and the stranger was gone. Before I could even process the empty room, a violent, agonizing shockwave exploded inside my skull. My vision blurred, and I fell back against the pillows, clutching my head as a voice tore through the deep, dusty corners of my mind. It was a voice I hadn't heard in three agonizing years. ‘Mate!’ Nyx roared. Her voice wasn't a fragile sound anymore. It was a fierce, desperate howl that vibrated through every single cell of my body. ‘He is our mate! Lyra, wake up! Mate!’ Panic, hot and sharp, flooded my chest. "Nyx?" I gasped out loud, my hands trembling. "No, no. That’s impossible. Kade rejected us. The bond was broken." ‘Not him!’ Nyx screamed, clawing at the magical cage inside my mind, suddenly filled with a terrifying, wild energy. ‘The man from last night! He is
