Chapter Five: The Save

     I head for the front door. I take a deep breathe, calming my nerves. I open the door and head for the biggest wolf. He is a beautiful creature. He is taller than all the other wolves. His coat is black, so black that in the light it shines it shows hints of purple. I stop walking when the wolf turns and looks at me. I look into his bright eyes and find ease. He looks relieved before his eyes turn to pure hate. 

   I raise my eyebrow as he stalks my way, sniffing the air as he growls. It sends shivers down my spine, as I pick up on the scent he is fixed on. The Lilies and forest. David. Alpha stalks towards him and I step in front of him. Alpha sends a bone curdling growl escape his lips. "Alpha, a man took me and when I escaped, I was lost and disoriented. I stumbled across this place and hoped for rest. This man helped keep me safe when the others came looking. Surely you wouldn't harm the person who helped your soon to be Luna?"  He takes a few steps back and changes back into a man. 

    A tall handsome chiseled man appears before me. He is tall, muscular, has black hair, blue eyes, and is naked. Which doesn’t seem to bother him one bit. He walks closer to me and puts his hands on my shoulder. He stares deep into my eyes, almost as if trying to communicate with me, or trying to see if I'm lying. Seeing is how I based everything off truth with leaving out a few details, I have nothing to worry about. 

    "As alpha I have the right to tear apart anyone on my territory, or any human who that dares to take what is mine. I'll let this slide, only because we are to be mated tonight. Say your goodbyes, end your affair and meet me by the start of the woods." Alpha Looks behind me to David, "I will give you 12 hours to leave this territory and the surrounding territory. If I shall ever come across you, my Luna will not be able to protect you." David nods his head, "I will my pack my belongings and leave immediately." David starts to turn his back on the alpha and I can hear the low growl rumbling in his chest. "Have you no manners human? You never turn your back on an alpha wolf, without permission." David turns around with small grin on his face, as he crosses his arms over his chest, "You are not my alpha. I'm human, and you are stealing a human so you can mate her. I've done nothing wrong. Unless helping a lost and disoriented woman is wrong. I don't answer to you. If I want to head back inside my house then I have every right to do so, without anyone or anything approval." 

   Alpha looks from him to me, and that’s when I can hear alpha in my head. How is this happening? How is this possible? Focus Maggie.

   "If you care to save this human, you need to be honest with me. Who is this human to you? There is no way he would risk his life for someone of no value to himself." My eyebrows come together for a second, as his words hit me hard. He is right, if David didn't truly love me, he wouldn't be doing this. How did I let this get this out of control? I know I need to respond to the Alpha, but I have no idea on how to do what he just did. "You are doing it now. We are mind linked and I hear your thoughts. All you must do is focus on me and tell me what you want to say. It's that easy. This human, David as you call him has importance to you?" I nod my head up and down, and respond "yes, before I found you apparently, I had a life with this man. Please spare him. He has been searching for me and thought he was protecting me by taking me. I told him this morning that I'm due to be mated on the full moon to my alpha. He didn't argue, he asked if I was hungry and fed me. I was getting ready to leave when I felt your approach, and here we are." 

   "Do you love this human?", I hesitate before I respond "I don't know. I feel something for this human, but I'm not sure what it is. I'm thirsty, and I have a headache." Alpha looks back at David and turns me around facing him too. "I will give you pardon, this time. My Luna has taken a liking to you. You are free to stay under our protection, if you bring no harm. Understand that she is mine. You will never touch her again, for if you do I'll tear you apart slowly. Do you understand?"

     David looks between the two of us, before saying "thank you for the offer. If I stay am I allowed to continue on with my life. Come and go as usual?" Alpha lets a chuckle out, "yes you continue your life as usual, you are welcome to visit your "friend" but you are not part of the pack. Now you may say your goodbyes, we have a wedding to get to."

    I approach David and before I reach out to hug him, I hear Alpha in my mind again. "Don't touch him. YOU ARE MINE!" I turn to face him "I am yours. but you said to say our goodbyes. I say Goodbyes with a hug. Grant me this last contact please and I will never touch him again Alpha." A low growl escapes, "My Luna requests one last hug, keep your hands on her upper back. Any lower and I'll rip your hands off."

    We embrace for the last time. I can the love, worry, heartbreak in David's hug. He whispers in my ear "I will always love you. If you wish me to stay here I will. If you want me to leave and hide I will. Tell me what you want, and I'll do it. I squeeze him tighter and said "I want what is fair to you. I want you close, but I understand if you choose to leave. I need to you do what is best for you." We start to separate and he olds the tops of my arms and is starring into my eyes. "You are going to be an amazing Luna. I'll always be here for you. Come visit anytime."
