TALL FINE SAVIOUR

Scarlett felt several eyes on her as she curled herself into one of the seats in the bar. She ignored their dirty looks and continued to gulp down her drink.

The night was cold and sad. Like her heart. Her throat burned at each gulp but her soul craved for more and her hands continued to pour. She was done crying. Now she was going to drink until her brains would blackout.

“Look at her drinking herself to stupor.” She heard one of the girls in a table of three say.

“Poor thing. I think I feel a little pity for her.”

“Pfffftttt! I feel no pity for wretched bitches that don't know their place!” The first girl spat.

“How dare she think she can get to be with the Alpha's son? A worthless Omega’s daughter marries the Alpha's son? Isn't that laughable?” The third girl cackled.

“Fool. How she didn't know she was only being used. Noah is really smart. Worthless girls like her deserve endings like this one.”

The other two laughed.

“So, who is Noah's new bitch? Heard he is planning to marry her after dumping the slum bitch…”

Scarlett chuckled wryly. She was seated right next to them. They spoke in their highest voices and didn't care if she heard their hurtful words. No, actually they said them so she could hear.

Her phone started to ring. She checked the caller and shut it off with a hiss.

The place she had made reservations.

Why did they keep on calling her? She had sent them a text already. She was single and had no damn boyfriend anymore.

Hot tears streamed down her face.

She chuckled and downed another glass of her drink.

“Miss? Are you okay? You should go home.” The bar woman came and gathered the empty bottles.

“No no… get me another bottle. I have only just begun,” Scarlett slurred and giggled.

“But first, I must go to the bathroom. Ma'am, where is the restroom please…”

The bar woman shook her head pitifully and pointed towards the restroom.

Scarlett heard a gasp and tilted her head to her right.

A girl was making out with her boyfriend. Jealousy stirred inside of her.

It could have been her and Noah but there she was drunk in both her own tears and some throat burning alcohol.

Her heart crushed. The more she watched them, the more her heart ached.

With the urge to use the rest totally gone, she stood up, swaying a bit before she started out of the bar. There was no way she could stop the tears flowing down. She didn't have to feel that way. He was never her mate to begin with. But she couldn't help herself.

She had loved him more than half of her entire life. More than she had ever loved anyone.

Scarlett paused at the gate of Harrow club. Something painful tugged at her chest. Another slip of tears. She forced back the mucus trying to drip.

It was only children of the prominent men of the Pack that frequented Harrow club. People of lower class were lifted onto the shoulders of the hefty club guards and flung out.

She stopped and  despite herself, she scoffed. That night she was going to step into Harrow club no matter what.

This club where Noah had frequented without her. She had only been here a few times when Noah managed to smuggle her in. But once she was in, she regretted it. They felt dirty being in the same club with the daughter of an Omega with a low position.

But Noah fought for her. He spoke on her behalf. Only that Scarlett got tired of having Noah defend her all the time and stopped sneaking in.

Was it where Noah had met Rose?

She gave her head a little shake. She wasn't there to brood about Noah. She had come to have fun. On her own as a freshly single lady. Then she began to saunter forward.

“Who are you?” One of the two hefty guards mounted at the gate queried with unfriendly eyes.

“Me? I am…” a wobble and a chuckle. “It's alright, I'm fine. I'm not drunk yet. I just…had a few bottles back there,” her words slurred.

The guard’s features hardened. He regarded Scarlett briefly with unfriendly eyes and finally signalled to the other one to take her away.

As if Scarlett heard him, she drew back.

“Don't come near me. I am not leaving here. I am here to dance and drink and make merry in the almighty Harrow club!”

“Get her out of this place!” the first guard barked.

The other one came and grabbed Scarlett…

“Put the lady down.” A voice ordered behind them.

The guards stopped. Scarlett looked to see who dared speak for her. A broad shouldered man with a strikingly handsome face walked up to them. Scarlett tried to think if she knew him.

“And who are you…” the head guard questioned, glaring at the tall man.

“I said put her down this instant,” the tall man repeated. His voice was commanding and prominent.

The guards scanned him wondering who dared order them. Suddenly, they fell on their knees.

“Shhhhhhh!” the tall man stopped them before they could make another sound.

Scarlett frowned in confusion. Even Noah as the son of the Alpha was never bowed to in that manner. The guard quickly unhandled her.

She fumed and kicked his behind albeit weakly. She stood and pointed at the first guard. “How dare you! You unhand me just because he asked? You fear him but you don't fear me. Obnoxious men!” She staggered, turned and her eyes rested on the tall man. For a moment she starred, lashes fluttering. Chiselled jawline and piercing intense blue eyes stared at her.

Quickly realising herself, she chirped and tried to step backwards but stumbled instead and missed her balance. Tall man was swift and quick to grab her, stopping her from falling.

Scarlett’s heart skipped a beat. For a split moment she found herself lost in the blue eyes that stared warmly down at her.

She hastily pulled away, managing to steady her stance.

The tall man proceeded into the club.

“Are you coming in or do you want the guards bothering you?” He stopped to ask.

Scarlett regarded him. His voice was authoritative and his blue eyes primal.

Her gaze swung down his body. He wasn't just tall but muscularly built and well defined. He exuded a powerful aura and strength. Mane dark tousled hair graced his head and he had this wild look that made Scarlet’s inside tingle in a strange way.

Who was he?

“Yes… of course.” She followed him, cutting the guards an eye.

“Why did you save me from the guards? Do you want to sleep with me?”

He halted abruptly.  Scarlett nearly bumped into him.

Then he slowly turned around to face her. For a moment he scrutinised her.

Scarlett shifted on one foot. The good and bad of being tipsy. Speaking without thinking. She bit her lip. Could he already tell her boyfriend just broke up with her? Could he already tell she was the daughter of the Omega of the Pack, the weakest and lowest rank of the Pack… No, she couldn't let him see any of that.

She glanced up and he was still staring at her. She swallowed now uncomfortable with his stare.

“Well, I am grateful you helped me out there but I could have handled it. My guard had just gone to pick something from my car. Anyway, thanks for your help. I will get inside there and have some fun and spend some cash too because I got a lot of it…my father said I could spend as much money as I wanted…”

She rambled on. When she saw that nothing she said moved him, she stopped. Maybe she was being too obvious?

He rocked on his feet. His arms folded across his chest as he observed her.

“You have probably been to this club a few times in your life and that is because you were likely smuggled in. You have no friends and you are here alone, obviously. By any chance…did your boyfriend break up with you today or something?”

“Stop…who are you? Who are you?”

Scarlett’s eyes bulged and all the hairs on her body stood. Who the heck was this man?

He stepped closer to her. She stumbled back but maintained her glare at him. He leaned closer,  tilting slightly towards her ears and whispered.

“You are very beautiful and even if your boyfriend really did break up with you today, you please my eyes. Whatcha say? Let's have some fun. Drinks on me.”
