Five.

Blue

Jaxon insists on driving us. Though he wanted me up front with him. When I said no, Xander tells me that it’s fine to sit in the back with Bree. He may be the quieter twin, but he definitely seemed to care more.

Bree spends the whole time trembling. Her hands grasped with mine. Her green eyes wide. I try to give her a reassuring smile. The twins were not here for her. They were here for me.

As we arrive in the club, Vita is sitting on the door with the security guy. She gives me a tight smile while looking at the twins. As they start to walk away to their usual booth, she nods for me to go into the back room.

Bree had already disappeared to change and Vita led the way to the back room. As we walk past booth thirteen. Jaxon demands to know where I am going.

“Vita said she has some new uniforms for me.”

He looks to Vita, “You better not be up to something, wolf.”

“I have no intentions of doing anything stupid. I am just trying to keep my staff and business looking smart.” She holds my hand and tugs me towards the back room.

“Put this on.” She throws me a fresh white shirt and ties up her salt and pepper hair “They will question us otherwise.”

I quickly pull on the crisp white shirt as she asks me what I am going to do.

“I don’t know Vita. The proposal isn’t really a proposal, it’s a demand. I tried asking Antony for help, but he bailed. I think it’s too late. I don’t have a choice.”

“Your brother bailed?” She shakes her head at me in disgust as I sink into one of the leather chairs. She wasn’t exactly a fan of my brother as it was.

“What am I to do, Vita? The chances are, they will kill me. I don’t belong to a pack. It’s forbidden.”

She cups my face, “Look at me, Blue. I will see if I can pull some strings with my husband.”

“How is that going to help me now?” I whine

“You are forgetting who my husband is.”

I gasp, suddenly remembering who her husband was, “He’s the Alpha of Dark Crescent.” How had I forgotten? “Oh my gosh, do you think he will accept me?”

“I can only ask. But if the twins ask, tell them you are an omega of Dark Crescent. Blue, you are like a daughter to me. I can’t have them doing horrendous things to you. This way, you might have a chance, while I convince my husband to accept you."

I hugged her. I was so grateful for the chance. It might just buy me some time. Just enough to keep them from dragging me back to Black Moon.

She wipes the tears from my cheek. “Now go out there before they barge their way back here.”

As I head back out, the twins have their eyes on me. They didn't stop me after seeing I had changed from a black shirt into a white one.

They let me work in peace too. Hours pass by and they remain in the booth, now and again the dancers would try tempting them, but they would always wave them away. Other wolves would stay clear of them too.

As the end of my shift arrived, the twins were already waiting by the door. “Is your human friend joining us?” Xander asks curiously, looking around for Bree.

“No, she is making good money tonight so she wants to stay on.”

“How does she intend on getting home?” Jaxon watches Bree as she moves around the room

“Vita gives the girls who stay on a lift home.”

“You speak of this Vita often. Who is she?” Jaxon is desperate for answers as he looks around for my boss.

“She owns the club. She is also a Luna.”

“Is she now? I can’t say that I have heard of her. And why would an Alpha let his wife own a place like this?" His blue eyes flash around at the dancers.

Shit! Why the hell did I tell them that Vita was a Luna? “She likes it,” I mutter, turning my eyes away.

“Which pack would that be?” Xander enquires.

Shit, I couldn’t lie. “Dark Crescent.”

“You belong to Dark Crescent?” Jaxon has an eyebrow cocked at his brother

“Uh huh.” I really hoped that Vita could pull this off for me.

“Good to know.” Jaxon mutters to Xander with a smug smile.

They walk closely behind me as we head to the truck. They kept enough distance to make sure they weren’t touching me. But they were close enough to let other wolves and Lycans in the area know that I was theirs.

Again, I sit in the back of the truck. But this time, I sit in silence. I was alone with them. I had no idea what they were going to do or say. It wasn’t like I could refuse them if they really forced me.

Jaxon may have let me get away with sitting in the back seat this time. Though I was certain that things would be very different if I told them to go fuck themselves.

They don’t speak, they drive me all the way home in silence. Jaxon would cast glances at me in the rearview mirror. The car lights make the gold in his eyes sparkle. I wondered why his eyes had the gold flecks and Xander’s didn’t.

They follow me up the steps to the apartment, still in silence. I figure they were likely talking to each other through mindlink.

“You don’t really ask questions.” Jaxon comments as he takes off his suit jacket and makes himself comfortable on the sofa. I could now see that his chest and arms were almost completely covered in tattoos. The dark shapes and lines visible underneath his white shirt. The suit jacket had made him look more slender than he really was, hiding his bulging arm muscles.

“Oh I do.” But the questions I asked were mostly to myself.

Xander smirks at me.

“I meant, you don’t ask us questions. You haven’t asked when you will be coming with us. You haven’t asked what our intentions are. You haven’t asked if you will be allowed to see your family. You haven’t asked anything that I would have expected. You're not like the other women.

“There is no point in asking when you expect the worst.”

Xander holds back his laugh, his eyes dancing with amusement at my response.

“Do you really believe that we would hurt you?” Jaxon asks.

“Yes.” I watch as a flicker of annoyance crosses his face. “You are the twins from Black Moon. I know the stories.”

“I have no intentions of hurting you!” Jaxon mutters in his husky voice. "WE have no intention of hurting you."

“You are probably just saying that to try and make me feel calm.”

“Alpha’s don’t lie.”

“You are not yet an Alpha!”

“You have to admit brother, she is pretty clued up.” Xander shoots me a wink. If I wasn’t tired, I might have laughed. He was the one who had rooted through my things, but he seemed more amused by how I spoke back.

Jaxon rolls his eyes at his brother, unfastening the top two buttons of his shirt.

“I have a question.” I thought that maybe if I asked him something, he wouldn’t be as frustrated.

He leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees, waiting expectantly.

“Why do you wear suits if you might shift at any moment? It doesn’t exactly look comfortable.”

My question sends Xander into hysterics as Jaxon frowns at me.

“I have been telling him that for years.” Xanders sniggers.

Jaxon doesn’t answer me. Instead he just glares at me with those brilliant blue eyes. And once again, butterflies are swarming in my stomach. Would it feel like this everytime he looked at me?
