The Lycan Descendants

Asena's Pov

I kept running as fast as my legs could carry me far deep into the woods away from the prying eyes of instinctive yet dreaded werewolves.

With the way I was running and the thorns that pierced my legs while I sprinted, I wished I could as well run away from all my problems but that was impossible.

I thought of shifting to my wolf form but I couldn't…no scratch that, I was woofless and that earned me curses and insults from fellow pack members who were supposed to be my backbone.

My name is Asena Draco and this is my miserable life.

Since I turned 18 and didn't wolf out yet, all I hoped for that would end all the suffering was meeting my mate.

But that also seemed like a futile effort because it seemed like a dream that would never turn to reality forever.

Everyone despised me and you might be guessing while I was frantically running far into the woods.

I just needed my solitude where I would stay and cry my eyes out, that's what I always did whenever I felt the pain was too overwhelming for me.

Most times I wondered why the moon goddess allowed me to even be birthed, I should have died in the womb. My parents were not close by and around to comfort me and help me pass this moment, they were dead!!

They died in a fire outbreak at home but the part that confused me more was the fact that no one could explain how the fire broke out. Their bodies weren't found, not even bones and that led me to question why.

I'm sure of the fact that they didn't die in the fire even though I was a kid back then and had just returned from holiday to hear the eerie news.

I have never been so certain in life but I knew that something else happened while I was away that everyone had decided to hide away from me.

I was so certain because in the night that they were presumed death, I had a dire nightmare were someone tried to take a throne from them.

But why would they want to hide my parents death from me? If anyone should know about that, it should be me!

And I've sworn with my life that if I find out that something else happened to my parents or someone killed them, I would repay whoever it is ten fold because my parents were my only backbone.

"What are you doing here, pauper?." I heard a lady's voice resound behind me and it jerked me out of my thoughts.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know y'all were here." I said as my eyes scanned the lake.

Some of the classy ladies of our pack were having a bath at the lake and enjoying the moment of their life.

Gosh, I thought I would be able to have some moment of silence.

When I'm running away from people, I always stumble on people and the worst part is that it's always the worst people.

These girls were one of the ladies that made life unbearable for me in this dreaded pack that I belonged to.

"Of course you didn't know or do people without brains know anything?." The girl scoffed, immersing her flawless body into the cool water.

I just decided that a silent treatment would be better before they all pounced on me and made me feast for throwing blows.

I quietly turned and made to walk out of their presence when one of them that was at the River bank pulled me by my hair backwards making me shrill out in pain.

"Ouch!." I cried out and held her hands because of the pain that her pull was inflicting on me.

"Wow, wow, wow. The wolfless and worthless being now has the effrontery to lay her filthy hands on me." She screeched and before I could open my mouth to protest, my cheek sting.

Gosh, she had sent a dazzling and blinding slap across my chin and her nails had surely dug into my skin. Now that is surely going to leave a mark imprinted on my face .

"I'm sorry but I wasn't meaning to lay my hands on you, it was a total mistake." I pleaded because I knew that the giggles I was receiving from them all sent me an eerie message.

I was half dead today if they started with me.. then I noticed that the face of the one I identified to be their leader was scrunched up.

"Most of the time, I wonder why the moon goddess decided to give such a pretty face to an animal not worthy of beauty?." She hissed and I felt a little proud.

They were jealous of my beauty, a face they had tried so much to disfigure.

"Aren't we all animals?." I mumbled slowly to myself but the girl who was holding my hair heard it.

"Oh wow, she's saying we're all animals. She's insulting us." She yelled and like a bolt of Lightning, they sank my face into the waters and I wrestled to catch my breath but they wouldn't give in.

They buried my face in the waters and thank goodness I was able to get enough air in my lungs ...... I was kind of prepared for this. If not, by now I would have been giving up the ghost.

"Let her be, she's not worth our time." Their leader ordered and just like puppets that they were, they let go of me.

"Did they just stop an assault on me? Wow, that's new." I thought and grimaced.

Anyways I'm grateful that they left me.. I coughed as my eyes had turned red.

Just then I noticed that they were all trying to be composed and were gushing over something but what was it?

I followed their line of sight and it landed on a breathtakingly handsome young man.

God, only his looks made my legs go weak.

"You know who he is?." One of the ladies asked and the one that was their leader nodded as a sweet smile crossed her lips.

"He's the Alpha of NightClaw Pack, I've heard quite a couple of things about him. I didn't know he was this handsome." She said and bit her lips salaciously.

She was already tripping? Really!! Is that how fast it is?

I thought that at least the man was supposed to walk up to her and then talk to her or something but they all were already gushing and drolling over this unknown man...

He should be an important man to be walking with the Alpha. Gosh, am I having memory loss? I just heard that he's the Alpha of NightClaw pack.

Okay, that's it! I should stop acting like an idiot, is this what others do? I need to start acting ladylike.

But the minute I raised my head up and we locked eyes, something fluttered inside of me...

It was a very foreign feeling and I had to blink and look away immediately..

But then he began walking towards us, my eyes were bent but I knew he was approaching somehow!! Don't ask me how!

When he got to the brink of the lake, he gazed at me and ordered for me to get out of the lake.

Murmurings filled the air but the slow and low words he said deafened me.

"Fuck!! You're my mate!!." He breathed and time stopped.

What?." I asked and raised my head to peer at him.

It's a lie right!!! There's no way I'm the mate of this handsome and breathtakingly gorgeous man who was also an Alpha!
