LOGINThe Lycan Enforcer ~
~ANNABETH'S POV~ As the SUV door shut, a cool mountain wind whipped around the clearing, sending a fresh wave of shivers up my arms. It was so much more colder here than in the valley of Red moon park, the air felt thinner, sharper, smelling of fresh pine and something ancient. The Enforcer stood beside me for a long moment, simply allowing me to take notice of his territory. I looked up at him, and he smirked down at me. Even though I wasn't short, he made me feel small. I was lanky and taller than most human girls, but Lycans were a different breed even fiercer than normal werewolves. They looked denser, broader, scarier and were monsters wrapped in expensive suits. He walked forward toward the front doors of his mansion. I stayed back, my feet frozen to the ground, watching the way he moved with a grace that felt predatory. He turned back, casting a sharp, warning look over his shoulder. I didn't wait longer for a verbal command, I stumbled towards him, my heart beating fast. A man opened the door for us, bowing his head and We walked in slowly. The Enforcer took a quick scan of his home, making eye contact with the men stationed inside. Only when he seemed satisfied that everything was in order did his shoulders finally drop an inch. He took off his suit jacket and tossed it onto a nearby grey couch, a move so casual it felt like a trap. He walked deeper into the living area, grabbing arms with two other men who sat at a large glass table in the center of the room. They laughed, their voices booming off the high ceilings, looking happy for the first time since I’d met them. I stood by the side, my fingers twisting in the fabric of my dress, not knowing what to do with myself. I was a human in a house of powerful Lycans, there was no protocol for someone like me. "Annabeth," He called, extending his hand to me. I skitterd forward, flattening my dress as I stood next to him with my head down. He smiled down at me and ran a hand over my head, not a blow, but a stroke. It was almost affectionate, and that terrified me more than his anger. "This is the human girl. Annabeth... as they called her," he introduced me. The men, two of them looked me up and down. Their gazes were heavy and clinical, like they were measuring me for a coffin. "She looks like she’s going to blow away with the wind, Kael," one of the men said, his voice booming. He grabbed his stomach in amusement when I staggered backward from the sheer volume of his voice. "Now, now, Chad. Be nice to my girl," The Enforcer warned. He placed a warm hand in the small of my back, the heat of it seeping through my clothes like a brand. 'My girl', The words felt like a collar around my neck. Something my parents were afraid for me. "She won't last a day with you," the other teased. They thought they were being light hearted, probably trying to break the tension, but to me, it felt like they were discussing how long it would take for a glass vase to shatter. Tears formed in the corners of my eyes. I willed them to stay put, but one hot drop escaped. Chad seemed to notice my face and his laughter died instantly. He looked down pitifully. The room went quiet, the silence suddenly heavy. The Enforcer's hands moved to my arms, wanting to turn me toward him, but I struggled, keeping my gaze locked on the perfectly amber floor. "Hey, little one," he said, his voice dropping into a softer register. My lips wavered. He sighed, his hand returning to my back as he started leading me toward a set of floating wooden staircase. I looked back as I took the first step, begging someone, anyone to save me, but the wolves downstairs just looked away. When we reached the top of the stairs, we went down a long hallway and turned right. He opened a set of glass doors covered with privacy frost. The room was dark, save for a far wall made entirely of glass that allowed the pale moonlight to spill across the floor. A massive bed sat in the center, white and covered in grey pillows. The Enforcer stood near the door, watching me. I turned to him, my head bowed. "Annabeth," he said lightly, stepping forward. I took a sharp step back, hitting the edge of the bed. He stopped for a second before stalking toward me again. "Why are you afraid of me?" I looked at him, my fear morphing into a sharp, spark of anger. "You tore me away from my family!" I spat. "Those people weren't your family. Your parents were killed," he countered. "They were the second closest thing I had! Some of them cared for me." "I will care for you from now on, little one," he said, his voice softening as he placed a hand on my shoulder. I jerked my shoulder back, but his grip remained firm. "I don't want you to care for me in that way," I growled, trying to free myself from his hold. "In what way?" He asked, his eyes searching mine. "You bring me up to your bedroom within minutes of being in your house!" I gestured wildly at the bed. "I know how this ends!" "I wanted privacy," he explained, his voice calm. "You seemed intimidated by my friends. I thought you’d feel safer up here." "Safer?" I chuckled nastily. "You said you wondered how long it would take to make me scream!" I wailed, the panic finally boiling over. He shook his head, his fingers moving to untuck his shirt. "Annabeth," he whispered. "Don't say my name!" "I wanted your Alpha to think I was going to kill you," he said, sitting on the edge of the bed to undo the buttons around his wrists. "You... you aren't?" "No, Annabeth." "Then why say all those things? Why be so cruel to me?" "Because," he said, standing up and rolling his sleeves to his elbows, his eyes glowing with a faint blueish silver light. "If the world around us knew I had just found my mate, they would use you against me. They would hurt you just to see me fall. I couldn't allow that." The word hit me like a physical blow. Did he just say.... Mate? ~~~ANNABETH'S POVI spawned back, distancing myself from him, but regretted it instantly. He was stark naked. And worst of all, his manhood was rock solid.“Why are you doing this?” I snapped at him.Lucien stopped.“Because it gets to you,” he said. “And you look at me now. Also, didn’t I tell you? I wanted to see how strong that bond of yours with my brother really is.” “You’re not going to succeed in whatever it is you’re planning.” “Won’t I?” He tilted his head. “Kael won’t come back anytime soon. The king won’t let him. The council wants him to marry the princess and wants to see you gone. He’s just discarding you softly. I’m the only one here. The only one that can protect you.” He was wrong. Kael will come back. He won’t leave me here alone for long. “Why don’t you just give in... Let me make you feel good. Let me rock your little pitiful human world. I bet you’ll enjoy me more than my bore of a brother.” He taunted, lurking closer to me as I stepped further back.“Please...
ANNABETH’S POVThe lair didn't feel safe to me.Atleast not with him in it. It's been two days. That’s how long it had been since i last saw Kael. Two days of waiting for him. Longing for him.And Lucien hasn't been making it easy for me.He showed up yesterday at breakfast without a shirt on. Showcasing his solid bare chest without a care in the world.I was sitting at the table, picking at Mrs. Halloway’s stew even though my stomach was still tied in knots. Chad was close by, somewhere. And Riven was sharpening his sword. Walking in every five minutes to check on me.Then the panel door scraped open. It was Lucien. Bare chest with wet hair like he’d just come from the underground spring in the lair. Black trousers dangerously low on his hips. He didn’t look cold at all. He looked like he knew exactly what he was doing with that stupid smirk he always wore on his face.“Morning, little mate,” he said. “I told you not to call me that.” My spoon clattered against the bowl. I was an
KAEL’S POVThe great hall of Rorik's throne room smelled like cold stone, old blood, and petty politics. I stood at the base of the marble steps, twelve of my best men behind me. Not as an army but a statement to them all. I came here to talk, not to burn the place down. Yet. My suit was black and my tie neatly put in place. I had my Enforcer crest positioned clearly at the right side of my chest. I wasn’t here just as a shifter, I was here as the Enforcer. To talk reason with them. I was here as the man who amended half their laws. The doors opened wide for me and my men and we walked in gracefully.King Rorik sat on the Throne, that crown heavy on his head, but his eyes even heavier. At his right, Princess Armea was seated, arms crossed, gown still the same gold from yesterday. At his left, Prince Dain with that arrogant look on his face, who was already gripping the armrest like he wanted to stand. Below them, the Council members were also seated. Seven elders. Three of them
KAEL’S POV“What is that human girl really to you? And don’t you dare lie to me again.” I looked her straight in the eye. My mind already made up.I was done lying. Done hiding the fact that I was happy.I stepped closer to her. One step. Two steps. Close enough that her guards shifted in panic. Close enough that Armea had to tilt her chin up to hold my gaze. My choice was already made. “She’s my mate,” I said. My voice low and flat.Armea blinked. Twice. Like she hadn’t expected me to say that out loud. Then she laughed. Soft at first. Then louder. Delighted and horrified all at once. “Your mate?” She pressed a gloved hand to her chest, snickering. “Kael. My love. She’s human. Humans don’t have mates. They're just toys for us. Toys. And even if it were true, it wouldn't be possible. You're a Lycan. Your kind doesn't get destined mates. You choose whom you want to mate with.”“You don't know anything about my kind.” I said. My Lycan was right under my skin now. “She was given to
KAEL'S POVI took her in my arms and kissed her deeply, like I had been holding my breath all day. Her hands came up to my chest, not to push me away but exploring. The kiss turned hungry fast. Too fast. “Kael…” she breathed against my mouth when I finally broke away so she could get some air. Her lips were pink, swollen. My thumb brushed her jaw. “I want you.” I whispered to her.My hand tightened at her waist. She didn’t pull back. Instead she reached up and cupped my face. Her palms were warm and Soft. The exact opposite of the cold of mine. Goddess, she had no idea what she did to me. How much she affected me.I kissed her again. Slower this time and Deeper. I walked her backward until her knees hit the bed. She sat, pulling me down with her. My weight settled over her, careful even when my control was fraying. Her fingers slipped under my shirt, nails dragging lightly over my bare chest. I hissed. Her touch was so sensual. Every inch of her felt like fire on my skin.“Kael, w
KAEL'S POV Once I was properly dressed in my formal suit, ready to attend today's appointment. I stepped in front of the mirror to adjust my tie.I met Annabeth's eyes, looking intently at me. "Where are you off to? Don't you ever get a day off from your duties?" She asked. "Forgive me for always being absent, love. If it were up to me, I'd rather much spend the entire minute of everyday here with you." I said to her. "Right." She said shyly. Looking away from me. "So what case are you going to solve today?" She asked. I contemplated telling her the truth. I didn't know how she'd react if I told her I was meeting with her old Alpha."I'm meeting with Alpha Dorian Of Red Moon Pack." I say, unsure if I made the right decision telling her.Her head snapped up to look at me."Alpha Dorian? You mean like my Alpha?"She asked me."He is not your alpha, Annabeth. You only lived under him as a child. And you're human. Humans aren't compelled to have alphas." I say to her."This is about

The Lycan Enforcer ~ANNABETH'S POV~"I can't be your mate. You're lying," I said, my voice cracking. I stumbled back toward the door, my mind racing. It can't be. I can't be. I will never accept it."Annabeth, I know this is confusing for you. But let's not talk about it now you're still tensed. C
~THE LYCAN ENFORCER ~Annabeth's POV~The world went silent. A high pitched ringing filled my ears, a siren of pure panic. I felt the blood drain from my face as I grabbed onto Tommy’s arm, my nails drawing blood through his shirt."Kael," Dorian reasoned, though his voice lacked any real fight. "Y
The Lycan Enforcer~~Annabeth’s POV~The air around me felt heavy, charged with a static electricity that made the fine hairs on my arms stand up.
