Chapter 63

The air around me shifted and I blinked my eyes open to see where I was. Relief and horror battled for dominance within me.

I had apparated into the middle of the central hall, in the midst of at least a hundred lycans.

The noisy hall fell silent as every gaze reverted to where I stood. There was a momentary stretch of silence, then all eyes went feral and weapons were drawn. I panicked when the lycans started to shift into their beasts. Shooting up my hands in surrender, I yelled over the whole hall, "Listen! Your king is in danger. Your king," I repeated slowly. "Is in danger."

A murmur rose up in the room. Around the wide and luxurious space, warriors and omegas looked on at me with a mixture of anger and distrust. Someone shouted, "What have you done with our king?!" The murmurs increased.

Fury suddenly bubbled in my chest. "Quiet!" My voice cut through the hall, rendering it silent.

I marched over to stand on a high surface, making sure everyone saw me. "The vampires have a plan
