Alexander didn’t know where to begin, or how to explain to Symphony why he did what he did. Part of him knew that no matter what he said she may leave again and never come back. He knew that she deserved to know the truth no matter what her reaction would be. He couldn’t stand the thought of her leaving again but he had to do right by her, he owed her that much at least.“Are you just going to sit there and stare at me or are you actually going to tell me everything” Symphony said sounding annoyed “If you are just going to stare, I will leave.”That brought Alexander back from his thoughts.“I don’t even know where to begin” Alexander said, “I guess I will start at the beginning and try to explain the best that I can.”Symphony looked at him with cold eyes. She was fighting the anger that was starting to well up inside of her. She knew she should give him a chance to explain himself.“I needed the power to protect myself and my reign. My father’s wife was not my mother and she de
Symphony sat in silence for a few moments. Taking in everything that Alexander had told her. She didn’t know how to respond to him. She looked at Gavin and the look in his eyes told her that he knew everything before she over heard them in Alexanders office. She was hurt that he didn’t say anything at all to her. Granted he was just there to protect her but still he could have told her.As she stood up and headed toward the door Alexander acted like he wanted to stop her. She had remembered his words though that if she wanted to leave she could and he wouldn’t stand in her way. She saw in Alexanders eyes that he didn’t want her to go. She just shrugged her shoulders and continued out the door. Before she walked out she turned.“Is it ok if I go make some coffee, you guys both look like you could use some, you look like crap.”Alexander almost burst out laughing at her words, Gavin cracked a smile. She headed toward the kitchen when she heard footsteps behind her, they didn’t sound
When Symphony came to, she heard voices coming from some where in the distance. She heard what sounded like two voices, she thought one sounded familiar, but she couldn’t be sure, they seemed to be arguing about something, but even with her wolf hearing she couldn’t make out what they were saying. She unfortunately couldn’t make out where she was either, she only knew that it was dark, damp, and cold. She waited until her eyes adjusted to the dark surroundings to see if she could make out anything that may be familiar to her.She sat up slowly as her head was still spinning. She tried to reach Starlett but wasn’t able to, whatever was in the shot they gave her must have blocked Starlett.“So much for being a powerful wolf” Symphony thought to herself “If one shot is enough to take Starlett down what good am I.”She looked around again and noticed that she was in what looked like a cell of some sort. There were no windows or normal doors, just a long row of bars and a gate that held
~Fast forward 10 months~Alexander was starting to lose his patience. It had been ten long months since Symphony had disappeared. Damion told him that the spell that was cloaking her scent should have worn off by now but they were still not able to locate her. Whoever had her must have their own cloaks in place and having someone very powerful on their side that placed it. Damion’s friend wasn’t even able to locate her. Alexander had been driving himself crazy trying to find her. He had guards scouring every inch of the kingdom and they all came back with nothing. No scents, no leftover camp site, nothing. He knew they didn’t just vanish off the face of the earth they had to be somewhere but the big question was where. Damion tried calling in all the favors that he had with everyone and even he was coming up empty. Either no one knew anything or they knew something and we’re to scared to say anything. Damion felt worse with each call he made. He had become very fond of the girl a
It had been about a week since Alexander received Symphony’s message and he had not heard anything since. The frustration was growing between Damion, Gavin and himself. He wanted to find her more than anything else at this point. He was tired of the dead ends that they were coming upon. He wasn’t sure how much more she could take of whatever it was she was being put through. He knew she was strong but even she had her breaking point. They had gotten a few hits on possible locations that she was being held at but they ended up being duds. Alexander even let Dax out for hours on end thinking he might be able to find something that the others had missed. Dax was getting angrier at every false hope that he had come across. Dax was ready to tear apart the entire kingdom if it meant an easier time finding Symphony.Later that evening, they were all sitting in Alexander’s office when Alexander’s phone started ringing. When he answered it there was silence on the other end, he was abo
After a day of the guards searching the areas that had popped up they found one that looked promising. They called Alexander, Gavin, and Damion with the news. The men met the guards at the location and looked around. Alexander and Damion almost instantly smelled Symphony’s power here, it was very faint, but it was there. The men looked at each other with small smiles, they finally found her. They needed a plan as they couldn’t just waltz in like they owned the place; Symphony could get killed that way. Alexander told Damion to call his witch friend and have them cloaked so they wouldn’t be scented. Next, he had Gavin round up a handful of guards and look for any alternative exits that they needed to be aware of and if there were any have guards stationed near them, he didn’t want anyone escaping. After everything was prepared Alexander shifted into Dax, it was time for him to have his fun, he had been waiting for this a long time. The only request that Alexander had was that Fi
As the days went on Symphony showed improvement, it was still slow, but she was getting better day by day. She had finally been allowed to get up and move and wasn’t confined to her bed anymore so that was a big plus for her. Alexander barely left her side except at night when he tried to get information out of Fiona, who still wasn’t talking. Damion tried to find out what he could using his network of informants but was finding out much on his end either. He had gone home once Symphony was on the mend and promised to keep his ears open for any new information that came his way. Alexander owed him a great deal for helping like he had, and Damion told him that in time all debts would be paid.Gavin had taken shifts with Alexander on keeping an eye over Symphony and guarding Fiona. He was rather impressed at Fiona unwillingness to talk after the torture that Alexander had put her through. If it had been anyone else, they would have broken down and spilled everything by now.Symphony
The day of Symphony’s birthday drew closer, and it was a bittersweet feeling for her. She wished she was able to have her friends at her party, but she knew that wouldn’t be happening. Worst of all she missed her best friend, Fiona, granted she was tormented and put through hell by her just a short time ago, but she was still Symphony’s best friend for 11 years. She wondered if she could invite some of the people, she had met in Pawfoot. She would have to ask. She did miss the hotel owner whom she had helped for room and food. It was hard to believe that that was almost a year ago. Alexander had all but given up on getting any information out of Fiona, he had been doing his worst on her for almost a month and still she wouldn’t break, he even let Dax come out and try to get her to talk. He wondered if maybe she really did have nothing to tell him, he had his doubts on that though considering the only thing that she was adamant about was the fact that she thought the kingdom shou
