When Alexander got the phone from Gavin, he was not happy. He knew that Symphony would be found out eventually, but he was not expecting the message that she had gotten. He had immediately cancelled the meetings that he had and rushed home. When he got there, he was met by Gavin and was handed the package that Symphony had received. The writing looked familiar to him, but he couldn't place it. No one was supposed to know Symphony even existed and thought that this was a mistake.
He had Gavin look into the security cameras to see if he could find anything while he put his best trackers on to see if they could pick up a sent from the package, unfortunately there was no luck on either front. He was getting angry and the Lycan side of him wanted blood. He knew after Symphony turned 16, she would be having her first shift at any time, and he wanted this person caught before then.
He headed up the stairs towards Symphony’s room and could hear her crying softly. He stopped at her door thinking about going in but his Lycan half, Dax, talked him out of it.
“She will be ok” Dax said. Alexander rolled his eyes at this. “If you push her to far you will have lost everything that you worked for”
Dax made a good point. Alexander had taken Symphony to use her power and rule the world. He had let himself get too involved with her and he started to care about her. He didn’t like the feelings he was having, and Dax knew that too. Lycans don’t get mates like the wolves do and very seldom do wolves mate with Lycans, but he would make her his whether she wanted him too not. Things were going good until now, he kept himself busy with work and running his kingdom and once she got old enough to really notice things, he stopped letting her come into his office while he worked, he kept his distance and only gotten involved when he needed to, but this felt different. Normally he would have let Gavin handle things like this on his own, but this hit him differently, he felt the need to protect Symphony with everything that he had, and he didn’t know why. Dax was even confused by Alexander’s actions because he had a plan and he was not one to detour from those plans, yet here he was caring that Symphony was being threatened.
When Symphony awoke the next morning, she was surprised to see Alexander sitting at the head of the table where she normally ate breakfast alone. She made her way to the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee and cereal and sat down to eat. Alexander cleared his throat causing her to look at him.
“Gavin told me about last light” He started “He also told me that he made the decision to keep you from school until this is resolved, I agree with him on that, but you still need to get an education and there is no guarantee that this will be fixed quickly”
Symphony just looked at him with tired eyes and shrugged her shoulders “At this point I am ahead in my classes as you know and can miss a few days without it affecting anything, but I am not going to hide just because of a note. I am just a regular wolf and there is nothing special about me, sure I have abilities that I know are not normal among the regular wolves, but you can't stop me from going to school” she was quiet for a moment. Never had she spoken like that to him before and she wasn't sure how he was going to react. She held her breath for what seemed like an eternity waiting for him to answer when he finally did, it was not the answer she was expecting from him.
Alexander took a moment to consider her words and he needed to find a compromise to keep her safe but at the same time keep her happy or she might leave. “Well, how about we meet in the middle? I will allow you to continue going to school but I am hiring more guards to be involved around the school and in your classes. Does that sound fair?” He waited as she processed what he had said, she wasn’t stupid by any means, and he knew if she wanted to go to school this was her best choice.
Symphony thought about this for a minute. She hated the thought of more guards than just Gavin around, but this was one compromise she wouldn't be able to get a better deal out of. She sighed and nodded her head letting Alexander know that she agreed with him. She finished eating and placed her dishes in the sink.
As she went to leave the kitchen, she had a sharp pain rush through her that felt like a million knives poking into her. She fell to the ground screaming in pain. Alexander caught her before she hit the floor and yelled to someone, but she couldn't make out who. The next thing she remembered was the sound of her bones breaking.
When she came to, she was still in the kitchen, but everything felt different, smelt different, and sounded different. She saw Alexander sitting beside her staring at her in awe, Gavin was in the doorway looking like he saw a ghost. She went to ask him what his problem was and to quit staring at her, but she couldn’t talk, instead a low growl emerged from her throat. She looked at Alexander confused and tried to talk again this time it was small barks that came out of her mouth. Alexander smiled and started laughing, which pissed her off. She turned toward Gavin, and he was holding a mirror up to her with a smile on his face as well. Where she fell stood a beautiful white wolf. She turned her head the wolf did the same. She about jumped out her skin when she heard the voice.
“Hello, little one, I’ve been waiting to meet you. My name is Starlett, and I am your wolf.”
Symphony then shifted back to her normal self and Alexander took off his suit jacket to give to her. She was amazing.
Over the next five days, everyone was preparing for the ritual that was needed to get Symphony's wolf back. Alexander, Damion, and gaven made sure everything was in order. Damion had been into contact with his friend that was going to prreform the ritual and confirmed that he would be there. Alexander was beside himself. he knew what needed to be done and that it meant that there was a chance for Symphony to come back to him. he was tired of seeing her just a shell of herself. he knew that she wasn't eating like she should and he also knew that if she didnt get Sarlett back soon it would kill her.As the night of the fith day approached things were placed outside by the alter. Alexander brought Symphony down and order that all pack members stay away from the pack house. The only ones that were there wer Symphony, Alexander, Damion, and Gavin along with Damions' frind Marcus. They all gathered around and Symphony laid on the table that sat between them. If she was scared she didnt show
As the days turned into weeks no one had been able to figure out how to get Symphony’s wolf back. Day by day she was getting worse. She had stayed in her bedroom, she spent most of her time crying. She had stopped receiving visitors, and the only one allowed to see her was Alexander. She was spiraling into a deep depression that she couldn’t get out of. She had tried to get the moon goddess to show herself to see how she could make amends with her and get Starlett back, but it wasn’t working. She wished that she could go back and unsay what she said. She knew that the guys were worried about her, and she felt bad about that but what was she supposed to do? She was worthless without her wolf. Alexander had even tried to get her to go walk through the garden with him a few times, but she refused. She stayed in her room and sat in complete darkness. He wanted to help her, but he didn’t know how. He sent Gavin and Damion up a few times to talk to her, but she wouldn’t even open the door
The next day, Alexander called the meeting for Symphony. She sat on the couch in between Alexander and Gavin, Damion sat across from them with one of the men that had been fighting next to her.Alexander had told him what was going on with Symphony and hoped he would be able to shed some light on the situation. He left out the part about her wolf though because that wasn’t his story to tell. The soldier had told Symphony everything that he could remember about the fight. Everything that she had previously heard from the other three men sitting next to her. She was able to remember some of it but not all. After the soldier finished telling her what had happened, he was dismissed.Damion and Gavin looked at each other and then to Alexander and Symphony, even they didn’t know what was going on.“I think it’s time we tell you what is going on.” Alexander said looking at Symphony. She nodded before she began speaking. She took a deep breath before telling them what was happening.“It seem
It had been a week since Symphony had woken from her coma-like state, and she was still trying to piece her memories back together. She had been trying to make a connection with Starlett as well but with no luck. The only good thing that happened this past week was her getting her voice back. She had been checked over by the doctors and they told her that everything seemed normal. She hadn’t really spoken to Alexander much since she woke up. She had been kind of avoiding him. She knew that he had told her everything that had happened before she fell into whatever state she was in, but she felt like he was leaving something out. Even after reading his journal, she felt that way. She didn’t like that feeling. Damion and Gavin had come to visit her every day and even they seemed like they were hiding something from her. She knew if they were it was because Alexander told them to keep quiet, so she didn’t blame them. Alexander had moved his desk out of their room and was now working in
Three months had now passed since Symphony had fallen into her coma like state. Alexander moved her from her hospital room to their bedroom in the new house that he had built. He made an office in his room to be by her side daily. He never let anyone in unless it was the doctors, he even shut Damion and Gavin out. He was slowly slipping into madness waiting for her to finally wake up.Several days later he though he saw her move her hands and immediately called the doctors in. They checked her over and came to the conclusion that he was seeing things. Well, a few days later Alexander saw her hand move again, this time he didn’t call the doctors until he was sure about what he saw. He sat and stared at her hand for hours before it moved again, and her eyelids started to flutter. This time he called the doctors and explained to them what he saw. This time when they checked her over, she moved her hand again and slowly opened her eyes. Everyone drew in a breath as she looked around confu
While Alexander waited for Symphony to wake up, he had men rebuilding his house that was destroyed. He wanted to have it done when Symphony woke up, he didn’t want her to be stuck in the safe house. He checked in with the doctors every day and even though she was strong and had no major injuries she was still in a catatonic state. The doctors couldn’t figure out why. Alexander had guards posted outside of her room and surrounding the hospital, he didn’t want any surprises. He went to visit her every day and brought her flowers so she would have something nice to look at when she woke up. When he wasn’t at the hospital, Damion or Gavin were there keeping an eye on her.Everyone was hoping she would wake up soon, as Alexander was slowly losing his mind with her in the hospital. He even went as far as letting the doctors take her home so she would have familiar surroundings when she woke up. That was denied though as the doctors didn’t even know why she hadn’t woken up yet.Alexander tri
