CHAPTER FIVE

She was still against him, her teeth deep in his neck, waiting for him to die_which was the normal thing that happened when her kind is to bite any creature, but to her dismay, she could still feel his pulse, the sound of his heartbeat and the astounding questions roaring through his head.

She stopped short and lifted her head, meaning to jump off and run but immediately her head was up, Milan used the chance she was least expecting and tackled her to her back with him coming to the top. He grabbed her two hands and placed them above her head, ignoring her wide disturbed eyes or the way the action made her chemise-free bosom heft up to his face. "Who are you?" He asked with steel in his voice.

"Get away from me, you bloody son of a bitch!" She thrashed, almost making him lose balance. This girl is wild and if not for his powers and how strong he is, she would thrash his mouth to the floor like before. But, he would rather be throttled by his horse than a mere female.

"I asked again. Who are you and what are you doing in my territory?" He boomed, adding more ice to his voice to let her know he wasn't bluffing.

"Get away from me!” She repeated in obstinacy. “They are coming!"

"Who is coming?" He looked around and just as he did, that little distraction, he didn't know how she did it, but the next thing, she was off the ground and scurrying to the deeper corner.

"Some bastard fellas..." Her voice fell. "Leave, I will handle them."

He was overwhelmed by this slip of a girl whose bone was jutting out in different directions which was a clear sign of malnourishment and still she was bold."Well, this is my forest and anyone found here will be considered a rogue, and judging from the scent I perceived..." Plus you are my mate. Though he didn't say that. If she had attacked him and didn't show any form of attachment the way he was already feeling, that means she doesn't know he is her mate. That's a good thing. "...I can tell you are not normal. So I will fight." He turned and burst out of the house at the same time that a group of men came into view, all bearing calloused smiles on their faces.

He stood at the door of the hut and observed them. "These were truly damned humans," He hissed under his breath, his eyes stopping on the first man whose tobacco has tarnished all his teeth making him look more like a ghost than a human. "What are you doing in my forest, humans?" He took a step forward, maintaining a calm exterior.

It wasn't new that humans were always after creatures for sport. But he never knew they would have the impudence to be near his Kingdom.

The man with the soured teeth suddenly broke into a loud shrill, twisting to spare others a look that caused them all to join him in laughter. "Y’know, we were here for that wee wench, to finally have her for sport. But seeing another creature, a man, makes this whole show satisfying.”

Milan growled, the animal in him wanting to burst out and shred the man's neck for referring to his mate like that.

"Let's slay them all!" Siv said, hungry for blood.

"No!" He quickly held him back. "I am trying to be diplomatic here. I will not have a blood bath in my forest. Not that of a human. I don't envisage war."

"Urgh!" Siv snorted. "Our mate is unusual. She is in heat!"

Milan's manhood throbbed. "Just shut the hell up and let me concentrate.'' He scolded and looked up at the men looking at him like he had gone crazy as he wasn't responding to them.

"Hey, furry creature," The scrawny man said. "Let's make this as brief as possible. I just want the girl. She is to take us to someone we have been seeking for months now and if you try to stop us..." The man brought out a silver knife and wielded it. Milan shook his head. These humans are daft after all.

At his age, a silver knife like that would not even pierce his skin, not to mention kill him. "Who is this person you seek and why is she the one to take you there?" He asked casually, ignoring the man's jab.

"Because she knows him!"

Milan seemed to think on it, looking at his nails to flick off an insect that just perched there. "Well, as the Lycan King of this Kingdom, I beg to differ. I can't l_"

"What!" They all screamed. "You are the Lycan King?" The scrawny man surged forward, then his eyes grew in their sockets as he pointed deadly at Milan turned to his followers, and shouted. "He is the man we seek. Get him!"

The moment they all came at him, their silver knives ready to strike him if he showed any form of rebellion, it happened at once. A deadly cry came from within the hut and in the blink of an eye, it was like a wind passed Milan, the only thing he saw was blood splashing in different directions, and no bit of flesh was found.

He staggered back with wide eyes. Once the saga ended and the wind sounded like a tornado and stopped. The girl materialized from the win and fell to her knees. And when Milan looked up, a young boy with eyes as wide as saucers who looked like he couldn't recover from what he just saw, suddenly fell and fainted.

Milan rushed to the girl's side and the minute he touched her, she jerked, and then she fell forward and collapsed in his arm.

"Holy fuck!" He picked her up and at the speed of light, he dashed through the forest. One exceptional quality of a Lycan was the speed they possessed. They had distinct abilities when compared to an average wolf.

"Martin!" Milan reeled as he exited and Martin jumped down from the carriage and ran to assist him with the girl. "Go and get the carriage ready and don't tell me it's not working."

The man obeyed, lucky to have solved the mysterious problem which turned out to be grass stuck in one of the wheels. Immediately, he started moving.

Milan's eyes were fixed in the bundle of beauty in his arms covered in blood. Who was this girl? What kind of creature is this? He has never seen anything like this since he was born.

Once their carriage stopped in front of the greater castle, Milan jumped down and picked the girl, his footmen were already running to take the girl from him but he nudged through them and ran for the door. "Get the bloody doctor!" He careened. "The shaman too. Everyone should be at the castle this minute!"

The aghast footmen ran in different directions to heed his order while his butler ran after him upstairs to the West wing directly to the door opposite his where he placed the girl on the bed and set to rid her of her dress and then paused as he noticed other presence. He turned to them. "All of you out! And don't come back here until you have the healers, doctors, and shamans!"

They all scurried out, including the maids.

He just finished removing her bloodied dress and putting a fresh shirt he had removed from the wardrobe on her and a pair of breeches when the door opened. The shaman ran in with the healer and doctor and they all paused to await his order for them to come in.

"What the hell are you all doing there? Get to work and wake her up!" He shouted at the top of his voice and they ran forward.
