LOGINTwo Types of Advice
Elowen's POV The prince just stared at me with a blank look on his face, but a few seconds later, his face changed as he erupted in laughter. As if I had just told him the funniest joke of the year though maybe it is. I turned to Reina, who just shook her head with a sigh. It doesn't even look like she was surprised by his antics. She's probably used to him acting this way. But I wasn't and I felt offended and dejected. “Is that a line from a drama you're watching? Oh, that's funny.”Kohen said after laughing for ages. “I wasn't joking,”I deadpanned. “Then you're more stupid than I thought,”the smile was completely wiped off his face as he stood up. “A piece of advice. Just forget about them and move on. There is no use holding onto something so useless.” He then turned to Reina. “Do what you have to do. I'll come back for her later. Hopefully, you can knock some sense into her head.” He was about to walk out when I stood behind him and said, “Then why did you help me in the first place? Right. Because I am a cure to your curse.”I said bitterly. “Because I am not interested in meddling with human affairs. I wouldn't have cared if you had no use for me.”He turned around and started advancing, making me step backward until he had me pinned to the wall. “You want compensation? You want to avenge yourself? Then I'll give you the money you need, but don't drag me into it.” “You're asking a prince to help you when you can't even help yourself. You're an arrogant little human, aren't you?” I bowed my head when I realized what he was trying to say. He's right. He already saved me twice, and he could help me with anything. It was too much for me to ask someone like him for help on my personal matters. “Human, let me ask you this. When you found out your husband is cheating on you, did you do anything? Did you slap him? Did you even curse him?” I pursed my lips and no words left my mouth. “Then why is a weakling like you seeking revenge?” Kohen pushed off the wall and I released the breath I didn't know I was holding. The smell of leather, woods and vanilla radiating from his body lingered in the air. My mouth remained sealed and I could only watch as he walked to the door, his steps were precise and confident. It suits someone of a high value man like him. “Kohen's tongue might be sharper than a sword, but I assure you that he will help you one way or another. He can really be harsh sometimes, but that's how he is. He doesn't take any bullshit, and he's straightforward. I've known him since he was a teenager, but I'm still not used to his way of speaking.” Reina grabbed my hand and I looked at her. “Come with me, dear. I want to show you something.” We walked to the back door and I wasn't really expecting to see a beautiful garden with colorful butterflies flying around. My problems were temporarily forgotten and at that moment, I wanted to appreciate life again. “It's beautiful.”I exclaimed with a gasp. “Sit with me, Elowen. Tell me everything I need to know about you. I am really interested to hear how you grew up and what you've been through. Life hasn't been easy on you, has it?” I was shocked and I covered my mouth. “Can you read my mind?” “What? No!”Reina denied with a laugh but then grinned cheekily. “Maybe? Haha. I can if you let me. I can't read someone's mind by simply looking at your eyes.” I exhaled in relief and she gave me time to gather the strength to share something about myself. Just thinking about it makes me feel emotional because aside from Henry and Rhea, I haven't told anyone about myself. I opened my mouth and I started telling her my life as an orphan who grew up in an orphanage until Black Mountain adopted me to be a slave. I told her that I graduated as a Fine Arts student but I couldn't pursue it. I told her about my dream of having a family and how I met Henry. I told her everything about what he and Olga did to me. Reina listened attentively without interrupting me and I could see nothing but interest and understanding in her eyes. “Then Kohen is wrong, Elowen. You're strong because you have gotten this far without relying on anyone.” Her words moved me and my eyes teared up. “Thank you.” Reina smiled and clapped her hands lightly. “Alrighty, then. It's your turn to ask. Feel free to ask everything you want to know before the big bad wolf comes back.” “Am I human? I-I mean you said I came from a clan of healers.” “Thousands of years ago, humans had the ability to heal people, Elowen,”a butterfly landed on her finger and she opened my palm so she could transfer it there. “To answer your question, yes, you are a human. A very special human.” “When Prince Kohen smelled my blood, he was able to tell it right away. How come none of the werewolves or vampires can tell?” “Like I said, golden blood was believed to be a myth. You can't even find any book about it. Only my grandmother told me about it. She told me that there was a small clan of healers and a rare one could be found among them. A golden blood that can cure any kind of curse or diseases once you consume them.” I swallowed loudly and fear ran through my whole body. “But don't worry, aside from Kohen and I, no one would be able to recognize it. When they smell your blood, they'd just think that it's special. But just in case, please prevent yourself from bleeding. We don't want the whole world fighting just to have you in their possession, do we?” I could feel all the blood leaving my face as I nodded. I proceeded to ask Reina about things I am curious about. “Where will the prince take me?” “Somewhere close to him of course. The palace.” My mouth fell open in shock. “T-The palace where the King and Queen of the Lycans live? The royals who rule all over the world?!” Reina chuckled and reached out to close my mouth. “Yes, Elowen. Because you need to be close to him whenever he needs you.” “How does that work exactly? Do we just... do it and he'll be okay?” “You don't need to have sex with him often. Only when he's low on energy because of the curse. You will be able to tell because he'd be as weak as a human, no offense meant.“ Reina reached for my hands and squeezed them. “Elowen, are you sure about this? I'm sorry if we gave you such a huge responsibility.” “Honestly, the thought of doing it with a stranger doesn't feel right to me, but I believe that I was given this blood so I can help him. Maybe he has a huge responsibility for this world, and I am his only chance to live longer.”I chuckled and shook my head. “Maybe he's right. Maybe I watch too many dramas. Kidding aside, he helped me twice, so maybe this is the least I can do.” “Thank you, Elowen. If Kohen won't help you, then I will. Do you want me to put a curse on your ex and his slut of a mistress?” We both burst into laughter and Reina blessed me on a new journey I'm about to take.Olga's Death Along With My HatredElowen's POVI remained frozen on my spot, gasping for air and my whole world freezing before me. I looked down and the dagger was just a few inches away from me!I huffed and puffed, watching how Shane slowly fell in front of me with Kohen's dagger still sticking out his neck. I just saw how the light left his eyes!“Fuck. Let's go, Lena!”I could hear Rick yelling and I dragged my eyes away from Shane to see him grabbing Lena. “But Shane—”“Shane is dead!”The door was kicked open and my eyes widened when Jake flashed in front of the two to prevent them from escaping. They started fighting each other, tearing the house down. “Are you alright?”Kohen asked when he appeared before me. He stared at me, his eyes wandering all over my face and body. I saw how an emotion quickly flashed on his face before it disappeared. He clenched his jaw and wiped the blood from the corner of my mouth.“They covered their tracks and your scent. Fortunately for us, the
The Unexpected CaptorsElowen's POVI was blindfolded so I couldn't see anything but pure darkness. I was surrounded by voices just like in my dream. So it was a vision and not just a nightmare after all. And I was a victim of my own vision. Where are Kohen and Jake? Are they safe somewhere? God, I won't be able to forgive myself if I caused their demise or if they are hurt because of me. Before they dragged me somewhere, I heard one of them saying that they were only doing their job. Were they hired by someone to hurt me? Was it Olga or perhaps the queen? Maybe she took this as a chance to get rid of me once and for all. I don't know where I was. I don't know where Kohen and Jake were. I was held captive by a group of cold blooded murderers. Maybe this is really the end. I winced when the blindfold was roughly removed from my eyes. I shut my eyes tight when the light hurt my eyes a little. My hands and feet weren't tied. Maybe because they knew I wouldn't be able to run away any
Another VisionElowen's POV I had a nightmare that night. I dreamed about Northleaves, but everything turned to pure chaos. Houses were burning, dead bodies lay on the ground. Families lay lifeless on top of each other. And in the middle of the chaos were four people, but I couldn't make out their faces, only their mouths. They were looking at the dead people around them with a sick grin on their faces. I looked around and searched for Kohen and Jake to ask for help, but I was completely devastated when I saw them imprisoned inside a glass box. They were trying to break the glass. They were screaming something at me but I couldn't hear their voices. They couldn't do anything. In a flash, the four were suddenly around me, surrounding me with a murderous aura radiating from them. “They can't help you now.”One of them said, and strangely enough, I could make out a gun strapped on his holster. “You should have left when you were told to.”A female voice said, and I could smell the
The First SuspectElowen's POVThankfully, there was no one inside by the time the fire department arrived. We've received the same look the police officers gave us earlier, as if they were blaming us for what happened. Someone even said that our appearance will just cause things to escalate. “The more they try to drive us away, the more I want to stay here and find those mongrels.”Kohen doesn't look angry or frustrated. He looked annoyed and interested at the same time. “Let's find out who's the cat and who are the rats.”He said with a wide grin on his face and we proceeded to the next house. As expected, the woman named Avery refused to entertain us, not because she's suspicious, but because she's probably heard about what happened. “I don't want those people to come at me. Please, I know it's hell around here, but you guys are only making it worse.”She pleaded and I could hear her breathing shakily and whimpering in fear. “Avery, we are here to help.”I tried convincing her,
Searching For the PerpetratorsElowen's POVWe left a traumatized family behind to investigate and search for the owner of the blood. Kohen compensated them for the broken window, but I don't think it's the least of their problems. “You are not to leave my side, do you hear me? Stay where I can see you.”Kohen said firmly as we walked around. ‘As if I will be stupid enough to be on my own.’I answered in my head but nodded instead. “Yes, your highness.”I held onto the strap of the bag I was carrying. It contains all the files of the townspeople that Kohen asked for. I think because we can't gather everyone, he's planning to visit some of them instead. “Well, the thing is, the scent is everywhere. Those fuckers are playing with us.”Jake said, as he was the one tracking the scent. “Good thing they don't know that I've got one of the best trackers in the world, huh?”Kohen smirked and Jake only snorted. Everyone must have already heard what happened because I barely see anyone around
Let's Save This TownElowen's POV Kohen had a scowl on his face when we left to visit the old woman's house and find out more about what's happening in this town. Because it's morning, there are few people walking around and some cars are passing by, probably to go to work. I guess there are fewer crimes in daylight. I saw some children playing outside their home with their parents looking after them. When they saw us, they seemed anxious and hostile. Some even took their children inside. “They are living in fear. Poor them.”I muttered and sighed deeply. “They saw your face and they went running.”Kohen mocked me and I only scoffed at him. I could have sworn I heard Jake chuckling but he had that usual stoic expression on his face when I turned to look at him. “I understand why they are cautious. You said the killers are possibly living among them. Acting like a human, and even probably talking to them.”“This is her house.”Jake said behind us and we stopped in front of a bungal
