Charles's POV

My mate was previously abused by her ex-boyfriend. I already see myself wooing her forever. I didn't want her to feel or remember that anymore, so I promised that I would do everything I could just to make her happy. Without her knowing, she was sitting on the gamma's floor, and my room was next to hers. She's a human, so she never smelled my scent whenever I was there.

Our queen was the main reason she was here, so I also owe everything to her. I will ensure her safety and her being my mate's best friend. I will be able to protect them at the same time. I was thankful to the moon goddess for giving me a submissive mate. No offense meant, but I don't know how to handle her if she was like Queen Clover. Even Alder was having a hard time making her submit to him.

I looked at my mate, who was sleeping soundly beside me. We had intense love-making earlier, and even if I wanted her again, I think she needed a rest. She's human and won't be able to keep up with my stamina.
