WARD

Gently I lay Keena on the ground at James’s feet. “Get her out of here,” I tell him.

The High Priestess begins to cackle loudly. “You will never make it out of here,” she laughs. “Evette,” she says as she turns to the little witch. “Compel them.”

The little witch takes a step back away from the High Priestess and shakes her head no. “I refuse to help you any longer.”

“Evette,” the High Priestess’s voice is threatening. “You are making a mistake.”

“You lied to me,” Evette screams in her direction. “You said that the Princess was hiding her powers when she had none.”

“Can you not feel the power radiating off of her,” the High Priestess exclaims. “When she wakes she will be the most powerful witch on Earth. What makes you think that she will want to return to Lycan City where she was shunned.”

I look over at Keena laying on the floor. James is gently stroking her hair, trying to wake her from her slumber.
