Chapter 92

WARD

I watch Keena run up the stairs of the basement and pause at the door that leads to the dungeon cells. Her face drops as looks at the dungeon door. I know that she is worried about that little witch that we brought back with us. She needs something to take her mind off the things that she can't control.

"She needs you right now." The Queen takes a few steps forward and places her hand on my shoulder.

"I don't know what to do for her," I admit.

Queen Ella lets out a sigh. "Keena has been sheltered her whole life. Her father and I have always made sure that she was safe and comfortable. Now her safe life has been turned on its end. There is a young girl in the dungeons because she put her there. She is having a hard time coping."

Reaching out through the bond I try to feel what Keena is feeling but I am met with a wall. "She is blocking me out." I tell the Queen.

"She is a lot like her father in that regard," Queen Ella says with a smile playing at the cor
