“Alisa, when did you find the time to plan all this?” I asked Alisa in horror.

“A secret of the trade,” she replied with a mischievous smile and pulled me into what I deemed my hell.

The entire room was covered with makeup and hair equipment, and four servants who were in charge of doing my hair and makeup stood with their heads bowed before Alisa and me.

I heaved a sigh of resignation and allowed Alisa to begin her ministrations on me.

“I still won't understand why this is necessary. I'm pretty sure I don't need all this makeup and elaborate hairdos for Arnou to tell me my dress looks pretty.” I said to Alisa with an irritated eye roll.

“Oh come on Daciana. No take backs, you already agreed to allow me to do your hair and makeup.”

“I'm not refusing, I just don't see the need.” I groaned out in mock frustration.

Alisa just chuckled and ignored me.

I sank into my makeup chair and the servants started working on me.

I smiled a bit as I remembered the way Alisa had defended me
