Chapter 56 The Wedding

I took in a deep breath as I walked down the aisle where Arnou rood waiting for me.

Granny was at my side and squeezed my arm in solidarity.

I smiled back at her. I tried taking deep breaths.

Eva was weeping from joy and I was happy but I was mostly concerned about not tripping on my dress.

My face was slightly hidden behind my long lace veil but I was sure everyone could see my wide smile.

The train of my dress trailed behind me and I peeked a look at Arnou’s face from under my veil.

He looked tearful. I chuckled a bit as tears welled up in my own eyes.

“You finally got me to agree didn’t you?” I shot at him cheekily.

He seemed startled at my message and I smiled even wider in amusement.

“I admit, I panicked when you didn’t show up,” Arnou replied.

I got to the podium where Arnou stood waiting for me and Granny placed my palm in Arnou’s own.

The crowd that had gathered all around to watch our joining burst into loud applause and o blushed as red as a tomato.

Thank God for my veil.
