Chapter 35: Wanting Him Gone

Daphne was scared to begin with as we began the dance, but when I asked her what it matter what other people thought, she seemed to realize something and began enjoying our night. I led her around through two dances before we finally joined the party and began to mingle. Not a lot wanted to talk to us. They either thought Daphne was some kind of whore, giving herself to a wolf, or maybe her family had made people believe she had given herself away to many. Or that I was a lunatic who had kidnapped her in the night and made her fall in love with me. That she was suffering from some kind of Stockholm Syndrome, but the people we spoke to were quickly convinced otherwise. They saw the love in our eyes. They noticed how affectionate we were with each other, and it changed their view of things. I knew some people we could never convince, but they didn’t want to be convinced. They want to believe the drama, because it was what excited them, but we wouldn’t care. Daphne and I were h
