Mag-log inLeona’s Point of View
“Let her burn!” someone shouts from the back of the room, and tears just roll down my face. Death was better than this.
“Mom, please,” I crawl to her, but she moves away, her eyes burning into me. I’m on my knees, pictures of my dad on the ground. All of them are fake and probably used AI.
“Please, Mum. I am…” I grab her leg, but she slaps me hard across the face. A gasp leaves my lips, my eyes trained on her, and I feel warm, fresh tears falling down my face.
“Mom,” my voice is barely above a whisper.
“You disgust me,” she says through gritted teeth before moving away.
“I will pass my verdict.” The alpha finally speaks, getting up from his chair and then walking towards me.
“What you have done is disgusting and insulting. A humiliation tin this pack that values family above everything,” he starts, his voice dangerously low.
“For your sins,” he pauses, his face straight. ‘I hereby sentence you to death by hanging.” The words leave his lips, and all color leaves my mother’s face as she looks at me.
I feel my heart thundering, and I can hear it in my ears. There’s a ringing in my ears, and I feel bile come up my throat.
“Mom,” I whisper, my voice barely audible. I know she has the power to save me from this fate. The alpha respects her, and her word carries more weight in this.
“Please,” I plead with her, and she swallows hard, looking at me, then the pictures. I think she might say something, but decides to turn on her heel to walk away. The tears keep falling as I lower my head.
“Mommy, please!” I shout at the top of my voice, then she stops in her tracks.
“Let her live.” The words leave her lisp after what seems like eternity. “Let her live with the shame, knowing everyone knows what she is. Death is an easy punishment for her.”
“Doc. She can’t live in this pack. We—” Bastiaan is the one to respond, but she chimes in.
“Please, Alpha. Let her live in her shame,” she says, and the alpha inhales sharply, looking at me.
“Your mother has pleaded that we spare your life. Not that you deserve it,” he says with an exasperated sigh, and murmurs fill the room.
“That’s why… You will be…”
“Father. If I may…” Bastian chimes in, cutting his father short.
“The temples are looking for women to serve there. I was wondering why not send her there. She can be a tribute from us to them,” he suggests, smirking as I lift my gaze, looking at him.
“No. No. Please, Mum,” I plead, trying to grab her leg, but she kicks me away. Sobbing loudly as I fall to the ground. This can’t happen.
“Mum, please. Don’t do this!” I plead, trying to free myself.
“No, Mum… Please don’t do this,” I pleaded with her, tears rolling down my cheeks.
“That sounds reasonable. Get her ready. We will be taking her tomorrow.” The alpha concludes and then walks away.
“Father, if you don’t mind. Maybe I can take her today. It will ease the pain of Doctor Hawthorne.” Bastian offers as I look at him. He will just hurt me again.
He killed my father and came up with this story? Everyone believes him, and they want him to take me there. How blind could they be to his lies?
“Be grateful you are not dead right now,” one elder growls as I gasp, shaking my head, and tears spill from my eyes freely.
Is this my life? Whom did I wrong in this life? Was it a sin to be born? What sin did I commit?
“Let’s go!” Bastian growls, getting down from his highchair as he smirks. He and David drag me out of the packhouse while people spit at me, throwing things and insults at me, so I lift my hand to shield my face.
When we get to the car, there’s no one. I launch at him, but he moves aside, and I fall to the ground.
I get up on my feet, turning to him while he laughs hard with David.
“You lied! You fucking lied!” I growl, lunging at him, and he laughs, staggering back, shaking his head like he just achieved the impossible.
“Well, don’t worry. It was your word against me. Plus, the gift Daddy got for you. It was pretty convincing,” he smiles. “Why sleep with your father? Oh, Leona, you are so disgusting,” he covers his mouth.
“You lying bastard! You know it’s a lie!” I try to lunge at him, but his little minion, David, hooks his arms around my waist, pulling me back.
“If you don’t behave. I swear, Leona, I will fucking knock you out!” David growls. My heart races thinking about what happened last time.
The last time.
I don’t even know what he did to me. My father is dead, and I am accused of sleeping with my dad. The man who taught me how to ride a bicycle. Who would hold me when I fall?
“My dad would never get me such disgusting things. You know that!” I growl, but David is holding me back.
“Of course I know. Jaden was helpful, though.” He smirks, his smile reaching his eyes.
My heart sinks, and it’s like the world just tilted to one side.
“Jaden?”
Jaden betrayed me. Why?
“What the hell are you talking about?” I ask. My body goes rigid. Standing frozen in one place.
“Oh, you didn’t know? David and Jaden are mates.” Bastian smiles, walking towards me as I look at him. It can’t be. Jaden is less than fifteen.
What the fuck was going on?
“Put her in the trunk. We have a long journey,” Bastian shouts. David hauls me to the back of the car.
“No. No. Please, David,” I plead with him, but he grabs some duct tape and places it on my mouth before shoving me into the trunk, then slams it shut.
Everything becomes black. “No. No, Daddy,” I want to scream, but the sounds come out muffled. I choke back a sob, throwing my head back.
I can’t serve the temple.
Death would have been better than being labeled a sinner by those zealots. Those fucking bitches who will just inflict pain on me because they believe I am a sinner. My father is dead now. Probably was trying to protect me.
Oh Daddy.
I am so sorry.
My sobs get louder, crying myself to sleep. I wish he were here to defend himself. But Jaden betrayed me. My own little brother betrayed me, had his own father killed.
I can’t believe this.
Leona’s point of viewI groaned, stretching my sore arm. Alex didn’t take it easy on me, but I did my best to avoid him hitting my belly. I had to win the sparring match. If not, I would have to deal with Erik beating the shit out of me the next day. And I wasn’t sure he would understand if I told him to keep away from my stomach.I sighed heavily, staring at my belly, and I could swear I was seeing a bump. I slowly placed a hand on my tummy, tears stinging my eyes.I had to plan how to run out of here. With the little I have, I was going to find a place out of here and protect my child. Was I being selfish? Maybe, but I refuse to be used as a pawn anymore.I threw on my cardigan and made my way out of my room, giving Alex a dip of the head before I walked to the dining room.“We should work on your arms. Maybe start strength training. I know you want—” He was about to say when he paused in the doorway, his breath hitching.“What’s wrong?” I asked, stepping forward when I saw Kylie in
Archie’s point of viewFour fucking days, I have watched her move around as if she belongs in this pack. Chatting with all the men in this pack and smiling at people she shouldn’t be.When I walked into the den and found her leaning over the table, taking my bars of chocolate that I leave here when I try to think, all I wanted to do was push her pants aside and take her there. Her ass peeking out of her nightdress made my cock twitch in my sweats. Hardening just at the sight of her. I have never been one who thinks about sex too much; it was always just to take the edge off, but in the last few days, I have gotten off just at the thought of how she would feel around my cock.I wanted her more each day, but I know she is a fucking distraction that I should probably just fuck and move on. But when I had my hands on her, everything just felt like it’s where she belongs.I wanted to feel her, to watch her break apart. Watch how she cries my name when I make her come. When she moaned my na
Leona’s point of viewWith each passing day, the walls around me felt smaller.“You’re skipping training,” Erik says, walking toward me, his shoulders straight and a glare on his face.“I told you I can’t keep training with all the operations Maddie has,” I retorted, picking up some more supplies from the box. I needed more medical supplies. I made sure I was out of the room by four in the morning just to avoid going for training.“I know. But training is also important for you,” Alex was the one to say. I took a quick look at him before turning around and making my way to the ward.“Stay here. Patients are getting uncomfortable with you guys always hovering,” I said, then closed the door behind me. I sighed heavily, looking at the room in front of me.Most places were simply separated by a white curtain. After four days, I know everyone by name. I straightened my shoulder; who I was didn’t matter here. I always felt fine being here, shutting out the world and its politics.“Can I loo
Leona’s Point of ViewI stared hard at the pregnancy strip I just peed on a few seconds ago. A bit foggy, but every second that passed, I saw it moving. I clutched my nightdress tightly. This was really happening. When the first line appeared, my breath caught, and when the second faint line appeared, I gasped, covering my mouth, tears prickling my eyes.No.It got clearer with every second, and my heart was pounding so hard. My hands trembled as I reached for it, as it would burn me. I was going to be a mother. I should be happy because I wanted this.Get pregnant and get an alliance, form it, but not anymore.I blinked back my tears before placing the strip back on the sink, as if it were too fragile and might break. I took deep breaths, then picked it up. I would tell Steph and see how it goes.I quickly freshened up, changed into jeans and a loose crop top, and put on sneakers. I hid the strip in my coat before I decided to go down for breakfast.“Good morning, Alex. Erik,” I say
Archie’s point of view “We are certain it was Roman?” I ask, leaning on the table because fuck. I’m about to kill every person who dared to launch an attack on my fucking pack.“Yes. We interrogated the one we captured, and all of them confirmed he was leading them before he decided to retreat.” Finn is the one to respond. I hate that I have to listen to them and have peace talks.“Perhaps if we waited before attacking. Right now, we have lost the element of surprise." Finn is the one to respond, and I nod my head. They might not be entirely wrong, but I can’t shake off the feeling that there’s more, and my best friend is lying in that hospital bed.“Let me know if there are any changes.”“We are still—” Claudia shouts behind me.“We are done here,” I growl, already making my way out of the fucking place before I start dropping bodies of my council.I had heard earlier that Marc was doing better and recovering just fine, but I needed to see it with my own eyes. He wasn’t just a man
Leona’s point of view“Where’s Maddie?” He asks, his shoulders straight, eyes roaming all over the place, but doesn’t even look at me.“She’s in surgery,” I mumble before rushing to the gurney. I take out my pen torch to check his eyes, but Archie grabs my wrist, stopping me from touching Marc.“Not you”“Archie.”“Someone get me a real fucking doctor!” He growls. His hands are shaking. I don’t know what happened, but right now, he looks at me like I disgust him.“I just need to check him. Please,” I murmur. He doesn’t let go. His eyes roam around my face. His nostrils flared, but when the paramedic shouted, I pulled my hand away from him.“What do we have?” I ask. checking his eyes, non-responsive. I shouldn’t even be here, but I’m the only one they have.“Get him to bay one.”“Zita, get Maddie,” I shout, helping wheel the bed into the bay. “I need a nurse,” I am screaming at the top of my voice. Checking his wounds, a blunt cut to his stomach.“Leona, Maddie just got in surgery.”“W
