When I got to the beach, I immediately spotted Max. He was breathing harshly, his pupils were blood red, and the whites around his eyes had turned black. Avalyn My eyes fluttered open and I saw a blurry figure in front of me. "Ava!" Nik said and rushed to my side. I opened my eyes and smiled lazily at him. I had had a good sleep. Nikolai "So what have you decided?" Max asked me the second he entered my office. Yesterday night when I was formulating the war strategy, Max came into my office and told me a plan that he had come up with. It aligned with the rough idea of my plan of inviting Gonzalez to Max's club - Club Ekstaz. Max would slip it in that after the Vampire Rebels, I was next on his hit list. Avalyn Nik and I had breakfast together before he left to go work in his office. I hadn't seen Dimitri, Mikhail, or Andrei all morning but I knew they were all busy too. They were all preparing for the war. Having nothing to do, I decided to go out for a run. It had been a while since I had let my wolf out anyways. I walked to the backyard and shifted into my wolf. My eyesight got sharper. My hearing got stronger. I could smell better. I felt a lot stronger. But my wolf felt a little weaker than before.
