~Rielle

I opened my eyes to illumination filtering through the curtains. I squinted at the evading light. I turned my head away but a throbbing blossomed at my temple and I groaned.

"Princess," Came a husky voice.

I ceased moving as the owner of the voice stalked closer. My eyes took a while to focus. When I did see him clearly, my heart stopped. There was no need for introduction. He knew that too.

"I am guessing I don't need to introduce myself."

Raphael De Amato, the Alpha of the Crimsonclaw pack. An Alpha of one of the Triad Packs and the most powerful Lycan. There was no mistaking him with any other. Like the stories said, his eyes were neither blue nor green but a distinctive crimson. He was the red-eyed lycan that appeared only once in a generation.

An Alpha born with red eyes was said to have powers that no other Lycan would have access to. Yet, he was known more notoriously for his cruelty. He had bodies strewn on stakes outside his castle. And now the same man was before me.

"I… I…I… I am…"

"You are Rielle Archer." His voice was smooth, velvet with a rugged edge that made me hyper aware of every part of him. "Only daughter of the late merchant by the name of Riorson Archer."

My eyes widened into identical saucers that surely took up half of my face. "How do you know me?" I asked, my voice was miraculously stable.

He raised a quizzical brow. "Why would I not know the name of the woman I rescued?"

Rescue… I should be dead by now. I looked down and only then did I notice the white bandages that were wrapped around my wrist. Suddenly, the wounds underneath began to ebb. I shook away the discomfort, not quite ready to acknowledge the fact that I should be a cold lifeless corpse by now.

He came even closer, his scent wafted through the air, cedarwood and leather with a hint of wild sage. He had his eyes on me in an accessing look that made me feel naked.

"Why did you rescue me?" I asked.

He finally stopped and crossed his arms over the wide expanse of his chest. "You were dying." he said simply with a slight shrug.

"How did you know… that I was dying? How did you get into the castle?" So many questions whirled around in my head.

His stare became more intense and I could have sworn the red of his eyes dimmed to scarlet. "I have been watching you."

I did not know why his answer shot heat through my core. "Why?"

"Because your father wanted me to."

My brows rose at the mention of my father. "My father?"

He nodded.

"You were his friend?" I found it hard to wrap my head around the possibility that my father knew the most revered lycan Alpha.

He did not answer quickly this time but his eyes bore into me as he gave me an inscrutable look. "Yes."

Yes? Was that all he would say? He took another step and I froze. "How are you feeling, princess?"

It was a loaded question that I was not ready to let myself answer. "You keep calling me princess." It just did not make sense why the lyan alpha would be calling me, a girl who had not even found her wolf yet, princess. If not for my father's money and influence, I would have been looked down upon.

"There is much that you don't know." He replied. "but it will all come to light in due time."

He turned away but I pushed myself to speak. "I still don't understand, what is going on?"

He paused and without turning to me. "All I can tell you now is that a lot is at stake and your pack needs you." Then he walked out, leaving me with far more questions than answers.

*****

I went back to sleep even though I tried to stay awake. Snoring in ignorance while Raphael De Amato was anywhere near me was stupid but my weak body had other ideas. I awoke to the aroma of food and my stomach growled. I sat up and almost fell out of bed when I saw him leaning on the doorway, his long legs crossed at his ankles.

"Eat," He said, "We are leaving at first light tomorrow.

I blinked. "Leaving?"

But he offered no further explanation. I pulled the stool of food to myself, while trying not to wince at the pain in my wrists.

I took the spoon and scooped only to wince. My cheeks flushed at the realisation that he was seeing me fail at eating food. I heard footfall and the bed sank when he sat down. He took the spoon from me and our hands brushed. A jolt of electricity passed through me and charged the air around us. If he felt it too, he did not show it. He fed me the whole bowl.

I stole a glance at his sharp, chiselled features. His rugged attractiveness was accentuated by a well-defined jawline and a tousled mane of dark, untamed hair. The scars on his tan skin only did well to elevate his daunting aura.

I gulped involuntarily when his crimson eyes steadied on me but it went the wrong way and I hacked a cough. Raphael deftly brought the glass of water to my lips as he got up. He rubbed my back rhythmically as I swallowed. His touch was at odds with his appearance in its lightness. The fact was more shocking than the touch itself. My body threatened to lean into him. What the hell was wrong with me? After everything that had happened, the last thing that should have been invading my thoughts was a man.

"Alpha," I raised my eyes to see another man with a letter in hand.

"From Alpha Lucas?" Raphael asked.

Alpha Lucas, as in Lucas Van Berg of Scarletmoon pack. Scarletmoon pack was another one of the Triad Packs. If power was a person it would be Raphael but Lucas Van Berg was affluence personified.

Raphael closed the gap between them and took the letter.

They mumbled words and most I could not hear but I watched the other man's eyes fall on me.

Raphael~My eyes burst open at the sound of the name. I sat up to realize that Lucianne was no longer in bed. Instead, my eyes fell on the figure of my wife, who now stood by the door.I sprang out of bed and put on a robe. Within a minute, I was by her side, my arms around her, regarding the maid and my steward."Alpha..." The steward had an uncomfortable and apologetic look on his face as he glanced between me and Lucianne. "A letter has arrived from her... Alisa," he clarified. So I had not been hearing things. I had indeed heard my sister's name. But that would mean... I glanced at Lucianne, seeing the look of astonishment take over her face. She had just discovered that I had a sister."Thank you," I told them both. "You can go."They both bowed and murmured their goodbyes. Without a word, I guided Lucianne back into the room with me. She was so caught off guard by the revelation that she didn't even look at me for an explanation. Knowing that I had given her access to my memorie

Lucianne~Raphael’s body was a furnace beneath my touch, his every muscle taut with anticipation as I gripped him. His breath hitched sharply, and I reveled in the way he reacted to me—every subtle movement making him quake. His eye, half-lidded and dark with desire, was locked onto mine, and for a moment, the world outside ceased to exist. It was just us—our bodies, our breaths, the rising heat between us.I stroked his cock slowly, deliberately, feeling the soft, velvety heat of his shaft beneath my fingertips. The low, guttural groan that escaped him was a sound born of pure need, a desperate, almost feral plea for release. I watched as he clenched his jaw, his chest heaving, trying to hold on, to keep control. But I wouldn’t let him. Not this time. “Lucianne…” His voice was a rasp, thick with hunger, his hand trembling as he reached for me. The restraint he usually held so tightly was fraying, the battle evident in the way his body shook beneath my touch. If I let him, I would be

Lucianne~I read through the red letter for the third time, my blood boiling. "The nerve!" I scowled.Raphael sighed deeply, his gaze unreadable. "Jackson always has that, the nerve indeed."It seemed that beyond the fact that they were on opposite sides of the war to come, there was more that connected the two of them. But I had an inkling that it was not the time to delve into things like that, not when I was still digesting the fact that the enemy had sent a letter to taunt my family while I was still incapacitated. It made me even gladder that Raphael and I were past the bitter patch in our relationship."It does not matter now. You are better, and he probably knows that he has lost that battle," he tried to calm me down. "We are together now, no more issues," he smiled, relief written all over his face.I nodded. "Of course," I whispered, pulling him down to sit by me on the bed. I interlaced my fingers with his, my ring's ruby glittering. "Nothing will tear us apart. Not again."

message, they walked ahead of us, matching my father's pace to make it easier for him."You look happy, my dear," he was the first to speak. "You have a light in your eyes, one I never thought I’d see again.""There are so many things to look forward to, Father. I have reasons to be happy."A peaceful smile crept onto his face. "I’m glad. You deserve all the happiness our world has to offer. I just wish your mother had been here to see it." Solemnity crept into his voice.I grabbed his hand in that moment, and he halted in his tracks, turning to face me with a question in his gaze."I met her, Father. I met Mother."He seemed to freeze, and I found myself gripping his hand a bit tighter. "Father..."He finally seemed to snap out of it, blinking at me, his expression overtaken by astonishment and fragile hope. "What... You met her? Your mother? Where?" He wasn’t sure what exactly to say."In strange, dreamlike visions. The first time was at the arena when I found Nova, and the second w

Lucianne~"You look ethereal, Luna," my personal maid whispered in awe as I got up. I had been extensively pampered and cleaned since the first light of dawn hit the castle. Now, I was clad in a lovely but regal navy blue gown embellished with gold accents. The corners of my lips raised in a smile that felt almost genuine despite the heaviness in my chest. Today was goodbye. Maybe not for too long, but it would be the beginning of a new chapter in my life.I breathed deeply through my nose and let the air out through my mouth. I was ready, and then the door opened, and Nova stood up straighter. We both knew who it was before his voice reached my ears."Lucianne..." His words faltered as his eyes locked onto me. For a moment, it seemed as if time itself had paused, trapping us in a bubble where only the two of us existed. His gaze traced every curve of the gown, every gleaming gold accent that reflected the soft light of the room. But it was more than just the dress—his eyes lingered o

Raphael I opened my eyes when I no longer felt the warmth of her skin against mine. Panic momentarily coursed through me until my gaze clashed with a pair of green eyes. I rose from the bed. “What’s wrong?” I asked. “Why aren't you sleeping?”“Can I heal it for you?” she asked. “The eyes….. can I replace it?”I blinked before I smiled wryly at her hopeful expression. “If you want to try….” I told her before reaching up to loosen the patch. “Go ahead.”She sighedand reached out, cupping my jaw.She closed her eyes, her brows tinkling in concentration. When she opened her eyes again, they were glowing. Nova’s ability was coming to the forefront. She traced her thumb over the missing eye. The warmth of her light made my body relax, but apart from that, nothing happened. After that…. nothing.I watched her shoulders slump. She raised her hand to look at it. “But why?” she murmured in dismay. “I’m a healer, aren't I?”I simply took her hand and raisedit to my lips, placing a kiss on her k
