Maximus POV.

I knew that joining the League of Justice wouldn't be easy, but I didn't realize just how difficult it would be to integrate with them. They looked at me with suspicion, treating me like an outsider despite my attempts to prove myself.

Adrian and Kyle were the worst of the lot. They constantly made fun of me, belittling my efforts and pushing me to leave. I couldn't understand why they were so determined to keep me out.

One day, I had enough of their constant snickering and insults. "Why do you treat me this way?" I demanded, my voice rising with anger.

Adrian laughed, his eyes cold and unfeeling. "Because you're not one of us," he said. "And you never will be."

Kyle sneered at me. "You may be a king in your kingdom, but here, you have no orders to give to anyone."

I felt like a cornered animal, unsure of what to do next. I tried to defend myself, telling them that I was trying to fit in, that I was doing my best to be a part of the team. But they wouldn't listen.

As we lowered Adrian into the ground, I felt a sense of closure, but also a deep sorrow for the loss of someone so young and full of promise. "Rest in peace, Adrian," I whispered, as we said our final goodbyes. I couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt wash over me. Adrian had been my enemy, but he had also been a fighter, a warrior just like me. And in that moment, I realized that perhaps if things had been different, he could have been a true ally, a friend maybe.
