118- Letting go

“You cannot outrun your sister with that form, Ruby,” my mother scoffed as she remains seated on the blanket where we had some dishes laid out. “ Quit trying.”

I remember how Ruby tried to chase me that day. Father and I had transformed into our wolves on a cool evening. We were having some family time with no guards around or maids. It was just us.

Ruby was still years away from shifting. I was just a special case. As my father would call it, “his chosen one.”

His wolf was majestic with midnight fur just like mine, it made my mother proud just by staring at us and every run only made me faster and faster, my old man swore I would surpass him some day.

That day never came because I ran.

Even now, I'm running in the woods after jumping down the window and transforming mid air. I couldn't use the front door since John will obviously be there to nag the living daylight out of me. I can't let him take away this passionate feeling in my heart.

I feel so free and alive, my heart beat
