I let out a shaky breath as I heard the King’s voice strong and imposing voice, “come in”

Rain spoke in my head, “This is a bad idea”

“Oh, now you decided to show up?” I grumbled in my head.

“I always do when you are reckless, which you always are” She quipped.

I rolled my eyes at her and she went silent again.

I switched my attention to the scene in front of me. For a minute, I had been worried that I had simply shouted at Rain out loud and guards would come to grab me but nobody came to drag me out of my hiding spot so I was good.

I knew I was being reckless and debated over my decision of slinking into the room and how was I going to do that without either of them noticing.

Matron heard his voice and opened the door as she bowed politely again. She then held the tray in her hands, balanced it to distribute weight, and then walked inside the room.
