The carriage was probably going through a rocky terrain again as it felt like our coachman, Henry, simply wanted me to keep colliding with Jasper’s chest.

His grip on me tightened as we wobbled along with the carriage that rattled on the dirt ridden road.

“Perhaps, I should get back to my seat” I offered but Jasper did not let go of me.

“Get all the warmth you can from me, I cannot let you fall sick”

But as I felt the chilly wave of cold around me, I recalled something again,

“Did you not say that the Vampire lord’s castle sat on the edge of the Azureus Ocean?”

Jasper nodded, “I did”

“Then how come it is cold here? Aren’t places around oceans supposed to be humid?”

“Vampires use magic to regulate the temperature around them. Some places are colder than the rest and if their population is more or a stronger vampire is in town, he will you know…’accessorize the place according to his wishes”

I raised my eyebrow at that.

“So they also have magic like witches…werewolves and lycans
