One hundred and nine

I would have snorted and rolled my eyes had the question been directed at Jasper. I tried to picture the funny image of Jasper and Ivan dancing together, looking into each other eyes.

But my wolf, Rain, slid further back into my mind when Ivan turned to look at me. His piercing gaze held me like a prisoner and I had no idea how to react.

Sure I had prepared myself for this but I had not expected to be asked to dance so abruptly. Ivan held his hand out for me as I tried to not squirm in my seat.

I was thankful for the cloak and the mask that hid my nervousness as I got up from the chair. The stupid chair decided to creak horribly as I got up from the seat.

The grating sound of the wooden leg scraping against the polished marble floor was roaring in my ears and it made my skin crawl because of my stupidity.

‘Way to land a first lasting impression’ I thought to myself and somehow kicked the chair away from me while smiling nervously at Ivan.

Only that made me kick the chair a bit
