His Treat, Her Fears

Writer ✓

Mrs Malfoy left the castle to Diego's apartment. She wasn't looking happy at all. After hearing all Emma had told her. With the look in her face, the guards feared to greet her. She banged the door open, making her way in.

"What was that I heard?"

"I'm pretty sure she told you already. She doesn't belong to my pack." He replied remorselessly.

"For goodness sake, Diego, have a heart." She eyed him. After a while, she asked. "What have you found about her?"

"Nothing."

"Oh please… you haven't found out any thing because she is your mate." He looked away from her gaze. "If you still don't feel comfortable with her being a human, why don't you bite her and make her a lycan?" She suggested.

Diego moved his gaze at her. He didn't expect his mother would bring such an awkward idea.

"You want me to bite her?" He repeated.

"Since you want a stronger woman who can understand what and who you are, so yes, I want you to bite her."

He scoffed, looking away from her gaze. He looks at her again. "Mother, are you even listening to yourself? I'm still trying to get used to the fact that my mate is a weak human and you think biting her will help matters?"

"Yes, it will help matters since you have refused to be sensitive."

"No one is biting any one. For now, she must remain a human." He said, trying to sound cool to avoid his mother from continuing the conversation.

"Now I see you are becoming more sensible than I thought."

"Is that supposed to make me feel better?"

She shrugged her shoulders.

Night came, and it was time for dinner. Diego has decided to have his dinner in his home instead. Mrs Malfoy thought of sending Emma to serve him his dinner. She was only doing that to bring them together since Diego has refused to play nice.

She called Emma into her room. She knew sending her to Diego's house was a dangerous idea, plus the fact that he still refuses to accept the fact that she is his mate.

"I want you to serve his majesty his meal." She requested.

Emma couldn't say no to her, but her face said it all. She facially pleaded for her to change her mind and have some one else do it instead.

"It takes time to get used to everyone. Don't worry, he'll get used to you."

"But–"

"But what?"

"He hates me, I don't think he wants me serving his meal. He thinks I don't worth being alive."

Mrs Malfoy walked to her side, smiling. "I understand. That was the same way he did to his servant before you, it took him weeks to get adapted to him. You don't have to worry, okay, I can assure you that he won't hurt you."

"I'll do it." She finally agreed for the duty.

It wasn't so easy for Emma but she had no choice but to accept to serve the king that night. And she was beginning to wonder if she was serving both the king and queen all together.

The guards saw her and opened the door for her to enter. Emma had already decided to drop the food on the dining table and leave the house as soon as possible.

But then when she walked in, she saw that the living room was a bit messy. She drops the food on the dining table, and comes to dress the room. She noticed there were claws on some few chairs, and seat pillows.

A part of the couches were littered with foams which were also on the floor. She searched for the kitchen. When she found it, she searched for a broom and dustpan. She was wondering why the house was so quiet and had no maid except for the guards outside.

She returned to the living room, sweeping the floors and dressing the couch in a neat way. She did every thing hurriedly to avoid the king from seeing her.

She disposed off the dirt in the dustbin. On returning, she sees him standing in the middle of the living room, his hands in his side pockets. He was staring right at her. And deep inside of Emma, the only word her brain could interpret at the moment is… Death.
