Chapter 2: The magical Encounter.
It was 8 p.m.. Skylar walked home from her part-time job, lost in thought. She had been trying to move on from her unrequited love with Celeste for weeks, but it seemed impossible. As she walked, she couldn't help but think about the one person who had captured her heart and refused to let go.
Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice the figure walking towards her until she was almost upon him. She looked up and saw a tall, handsome man with chiseled features that seemed to have been carved by the gods themselves. He had piercing blue eyes that seemed to look right through her, and for a moment, Skylar was lost in them.
"Excuse me," the man said, breaking her trance. "Are you okay?"
Skylar shook her head, realizing she had been staring. "Yes, sorry. I'm fine," she replied.
The man smiled at her, and Skylar felt her heart skip a beat. "I'm Skylar," she said, holding out her hand.
The man took her hand and shook it firmly. "I'm Asher," he said, his voice deep and rich.
She felt her heart skip a beat as he strode towards her, his eyes never leaving hers.
"I couldn't help but notice you! " He said.
She offered him a small smile.
"So, Skylar, what brings you out here at this hour?" Asher asked, his eyes still fixed on hers.
"I just finished my shift at the diner down the road," Skylar explained.
"That's a shame," Asher said, his tone playful. "I was hoping you were out here looking for me."
Skylar couldn't help but laugh at his boldness. "Well, I didn't know you existed until a few minutes ago," she said with a grin.
Asher chuckled. "Fair enough!"
They stood there for a moment, just looking at each other, before Skylar realized she had to go. "Well, it was nice meeting you, but I have to get going," she said, starting to walk away.
"Wait," Asher called after her.
Skylar turned back to him, surprised. " What do you want?" She asked.
"Before you go, can I at least get your number? Maybe we could grab a coffee sometime."
Skylar hesitated for a moment before responding. " No thank you! I'm not interested. It was a pleasure to meet you."
As she walked home, Skylar couldn't help but think about Asher and the way he made her feel.
But she knew it was best to stay focused on her goals and not get distracted by a guy she just met.
As she entered her apartment, her roommate, and bestfriend Lily, greeted her. "Hey, Skylar! How was your day?"
Skylar sighed. "It was fine, just ran some errands and met a guy at the park."
Lily's eyes widened. "Ooh, a guy? Tell me more!"
Skylar rolled her eyes. "It's not a big deal, Lily. We just had a brief conversation, that's all."
Lily grinned nudging Skylar. "Come on, don't be shy! What did he look like?"
"He was tall, had dark hair and blue eyes," Skylar replied, trying to sound nonchalant.
"A handsome stranger, huh?" Lily teased.
Skylar laughed. "I guess you could say that."
The rest of the evening passed by quickly, with Skylar and lily catching up on each other's lives. But as she lay in bed that night, Skylar couldn't shake off the memory of Asher. She wondered if she made the right choice by turning him down.
The next day, Skylar decided to go for a walk in the park again. She had enjoyed her time there the previous day and hoped to clear her mind. As she walked, she noticed someone following her. She turned around and saw Asher walking a few steps behind her.
"Hey there," he said with a smile.
Skylar was surprised to see him. "Oh, hi Asher. What are you doing here?"
"I come here often for a walk. It's a nice place to clear my head," he replied.
Skylar nodded, feeling nervous. She wasn't sure what to say to him. Asher, on the other hand, seemed comfortable around her.
"Would you like some company?" he asked, gesturing towards the path ahead.
Skylar hesitated for a moment before nodding. She didn't know why, but she felt drawn to him. They walked together in silence for a few minutes before Asher spoke up.
"I hope I'm not being too forward, but I enjoyed talking to you yesterday. I was hoping we could do it again," he said, glancing at her.
Skylar felt her cheeks flush. "I'd like that," she replied softly.
As they walked and talked, Skylar found herself opening up to Asher. She told him about her job, her family, and her life in general. He listened attentively, and she felt like he genuinely cared about what she had to say.
Before she knew it, they had been walking for over an hour. As they reached the end of the trail, Asher turned to Skylar.
"I had a great time talking to you today. I hope we can do it again soon," he said with a smile.
Skylar felt her heart flutter. "I'd like that too," she replied, smiling back at him.
On the other hand , there was a girl hidden behind a bruise with red hairs and piercing green eyes. She watched as Asher and Skylar said their goodbyes, and she couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. She knew that Asher was her mate, but she couldn't shake the feeling that he was hiding something from her.
As Asher walked away with Skylar, the girl followed them discreetly, her senses heightened by the suspicion that something was not right. She smelled a wolf.
The smell of the wolf was overpowering. She knew that she couldn't confront Asher about it just yet, but she made a mental note to investigate further and find out how long the affair had been going on.
"So Asher you're cheating on me with a junk wolf? That's what we'll see!" She thought then disappeared into the shadows.
As she walked away, Skylar couldn't believe how much she enjoyed spending time with Asher. She felt like she had known him for years, even though they had only met the day before.
The next few weeks were a blur for Skylar. She and Asher started hanging out more often, going for walks in the park, watching movies, and grabbing dinner together. She felt like she had found someone who truly understood her.
One night, as they sat on Asher's couch watching a movie, Skylar noticed something strange. Asher's eyes seemed to glow in the darkness, and his teeth looked sharper than usual.
"Is everything okay?"
Asher seemed taken aback by her question. "What do you mean?"
Skylar hesitated for a moment before speaking up. "Your eyes...they're glowing. And your teeth...they look different."
Asher's expression softened as he looked at her. "Skylar, there's something I need to tell you. It's not an easy thing to say, but I think you deserve to know."
Skylar felt a knot form in her stomach. "What is it?"
Asher took a deep breath. "I'm not a werewolf, Skylar. I'm a lycan."
Skylar's eyes widened in shock. "A---A ly---lycan?"
Chapter 16 : in extremis. One of the search units deployed to find Skylar was getting dangerously close to the site of the abandoned factory, below which the Equalists had set up their hideaway.Skylar and Twilight were already outside. The passage they had taken to get there led discreetly out of the underground and no one had seen them exit.Twilight took a breath of fresh air and sighed. "Hah! That feels great doesn't it?"Skylar covered her forehead with her hand to protect herself from the sun. "It's true, it feels really good." Skylar replied."Come, follow me. The wild berries are a little lower. Even if no one ever passes by here, we must not hang around outside." Twilight resumed seriously.Twilight in the lead, the two weaved their way through the tall grass without suspecting that she was heading straight for the search unit."I don't understand. Why are you making so many sacrifices just to see werewolves and lycans living in harmony?" Skylar asked. "Like you, I also find
Chapter 15 : Risk.John took off the hood of his coat and bowed to the Alpha who glared at them all.His satisfied expression had given way to a cautious but authoritative air. Then he sat down and said, "if you say so, everyone take a seat with me and give me more details."The betas resumed their usual places, including John."My Alpha," William began. "If you allow it, we would like John himself to give you the details of the operation."the Alpha turned to John. "Who would have thought we'd be sitting around this table again with you by our side. Go ahead John. Speak up, I'm listening.""Alpha Kane, I am grateful to you for once again tolerating my presence and giving me the floor. Indeed, I discovered the lycans' hideout and I was able somehow to inform William who came to check. " Said John."We already knew that and I'm grateful to you." The Alpha snapped. "But apart from that, what is this defining role that you have played.""If you allow it my Alpha," William continued."The
Chapter 14 : Red-handed."Asher is it you?" Ginger asked surprised when she saw him. Asher blenched, then tried to regain his composure, which puzzled Ginger."As you're never in your office at this hour, I thought someone had broken in." said Ginger, looking at him more closely and cautiously."But I don't understand you Asher. I see you landing on the floor through the window like you're coming from outside. And it's weird, your pants are soaked up to your knees. Where did you come from? you?" asked Ginger."Who me?" Asher said in turn."Of course I'm talking about you Asher. Who else do you want it to be besides you?" Ginger insisted, watching left and right. "Since there's only you in this room?"in embarrassment, Asher proceeded to scratch his head, "Well, you'll never believe me. That's a long story." he said as if to discourage her from trying to find out."Which I would be delighted to listen to." Ginger added, as if to finish Asher's sentence."Well, last night I came out of
Chapter 13: Reunion.A whole day passed. The day was breaking and the rays of the sun crossed the thick forest which surrounded Darkfire city. While the search continued there, below was a whole other universe, a set of adjoining subterranean galleries with solid concrete beams supporting the walls and ceiling, and lit by lamps. This is where Skylar opened her eyes. She was lying on a bed. Her clothes were changed. At first she thought she was in her room in Blackmoon City, but she didn't recognize the place.Skylar sniffed the air, enticed by the sweet smell of chocolate floating around, then she sat up on the bed and put her feet on the floor.Suddenly, a young woman opened the door and entered, leaving the room to be invaded by this voluptuous smell of chocolate that gave Skylar greedy desires."Finally awake." launched the woman with a soft voice supported by a pretty smile. "I thought you would sleep for eternity." resumed the young woman, watching her watch."You've been sleepin
Chapter 12: Trouble and confusion. The crowd of lycans who came to watch Skylar's public execution felt duped when they saw that nothing was happening. Little by little, the crowd invaded the arena.Asher was in the center of the dais and his safety was in jeopardy. The guard reacted quickly and surrounded the prince, which drew more people to him. A madness mixed with panic had invaded the public present. Some were being trampled in the bleachers. Those who were present in the arena rushed towards the prince ready to fight. The soldiers of the guard closed their ranks to face them."Above all, don't raise your hand on anyone." Asher yelled, his voice muffled by the shouts of the approaching crowd."That's easier said than done my prince." shouted Leif, the leader of the guard before turning to face, "In formation." he shouted to his men who transformed. The lycans in the crowd did the same as they closed in. The confrontation was imminent. And suddenly:"people of Darkfire City." thu
Chapter 11: the escape."Asher is it you? Did you come to save me?" Skylar asked. The mysterious savior didn't answer, testing key after key until he found the right one. He finally opened the door to Skylar's dungeon. She couldn't get over it, freedom was smiling at her.She was feverish and her legs were shaking. The man stepped into the cell, took her vigorously by the hand and led her out.The two started running down the driveway. The savior stopped from time to time to remove explosives from his backpack and place them at the entrance to certain dungeons.Seeing them, the other prisoners understood that it was an escape. They began to shout and beat the bars of their dungeons."It's the last one I place. I hadn't foreseen all this noise." Skylar's savior shouted into the cacophony, crouching down to place another bomb. "We have less than five minutes before they realize someone is escaping.""There will soon be many guards on our trail." he continued, getting up. He firmly took
