Chapter 3: You Need To Live

He is a vampire.. He is a vampire!

My brain was running quite slowly because of my shock and now I started to realize it. Does he mean anything bad? Will he attack me?

But then I saw him lower his guard. He stood up straight and bent his body slightly.

“Greetings…” He stood up straight again and looked at me with a small smile on his face. "My name is Adam Novak." He introduced himself.

“I have arrived at Elden Wood a long time ago. Months? Years? I do not remember. But this is the first time I've found anyone else, even another Dryad here.” He said.

I could feel that he was sincere. But I still can't just believe it. I can't let my guard down.

“Nice to meet you Adam Novak…” I bowed my head. I have to remain polite. He didn't do anything, there's no reason for me not to greet him too.

“My… My name is Cyllina Ivybow.” I decided to use my Dryad name. I guess this is fair since he is also a Dryad. But I didn't expect that who responded to me next wasn't Adam.

Suddenly the wind blew gently and I began to hear voices. The sounds of small and large animals, cirpping and flapping their wings, and other sounds that make my eyes widen.

“Cyllina? Cyllina? Cyllina Ivybow….” I heard lots of murmurs saying my name over and over again.

I looked around me and sure enough, now all the plants and plants were waving, moving. As if they had just woken up from a long sleep.

"It's nice to see you here Cyllina Ivybow.." I turned around and it was a big tree there that greeted me, waving its branches at me. I bopped my head towards him.

“They welcome you.” Adam said nodding with a small smile on his face. “I didn't expect to meet another half Dryad. I thought I was the only one."

I could hear the relief in his voice. I nodded. To be honest, I thought the same thing too. I thought that I was the last descendant of the Dryads. Just like Adam, I felt slightly relieved.

“Take my leaf…” I heard the voice coming from behind me and I quickly turned my head.

The Sawang plant waved and released one of its large leaves for me. I thanked her and immediately received her very large leaf.

“Are you injured?” Adam asked as he walked closer. But I quickly shook my head.

"Not me.."

……

I ran fast. I don't care what I step on. But it seemed like the roots of these trees moved to make my path easier. I don't want to wait any longer and want to immediately give Largo these cure plants.

Adam helped me find other plants that he said were very helpful for poisons. I couldn't think anymore, but just accepted it and went back in the direction where I left Largo before.

I need to be quick.

Not long after, I arrived where Largo was still lying among the tree vines that supported his upper body higher than the ground.

He was still Largo, still in his Lycan form. He would not return to his human form because that would be very dangerous him.

“Love!” I rushed to kneel beside him and check on him. His body was very cold, beads of cold sweats dripped from his forehead. I could clearly see how pale Largo was.

The black veins that spread from the wound on his chest were still there. I haven't pulled out the dagger yet. I wouldn't dare to pull it out until I found this Sawang leaf.

“This Lycan with you?” I heard Adam's voice beside me. I couldn't think anymore and just nodded while crying.”

“Come one, I'll pull out the dagger and you will use the Sawang leaf on his wound.” Adam now also squatted beside Largo's large body and stretched out his hand to hold the dagger that was still stuck in Largo's chest.

“Wait!” I held his hand in panic, my hands were shaking, I was panting between my sobs. “Is that okay? He will lose a lot of blood…” I couldn't control my tears. I hope Delcan and Finn are here to help me.

“Cyllina, you can use the Sawang leaf as soon as I pull out the dagger. This dagger is poisonous, we can see clearly that if he is not treated quickly, it is likely that he will not be able to live until tomorrow.”

I shook my head hearing things I didn't want to hear at all.

“No, please save him…”

I let go of my hand and let Adam pull out the dagger.

I calmed Largo who was whimpering when Adam pulled out the dagger slowly. I know that Largo is now unconscious. He seemed to not aware to his surrounding at all.

“Love, hold still okay? You will be fine. I promise." I squeezed Largo's big hand and didn't get any response from him. However, it was clear from his slow panting breath and pale face that he was in a lot of pain.

After the dagger was pulled from his chest. Largo roared weakly. I quickly took the Sawang leaf, put it on his opened wound, and pressed it lightly, so softly that I didn’t want to hurt him in any way possible.

“Quick, give me the black leaves I gave you earlier.” I handed over the small leaves that were almost crushed in my grasp.

I saw Adam squeeze and crush the leaves which then released a black liquid that looked like ink.

"Made him drink this." Adam calmly directed the liquid towards Largo's mouth and I immediately helped Largo to open his mouth.

“Love, open your mouth, please… please….” I tried to open his jaw with great difficulty.

Finally I managed to open Largo's mouth and Adam directed the black liquid that looked like ink into his mouth. Unfortunately, Largo, who was not yet conscious, couldn't swallow the liquid.

I don't want to give up, remembering what they did in the past when I had difficulty swallowing water.

“Give it to me.” I took the leaf from Adam's hand who seemed to be looking at me confusedly.

I squeezed the leaves tightly, just like Adam did and when the liquid came out, I quickly put it into my mouth.

I opened Largo's jaw again and my mouth met his, I use my tongue to flow the liquid to his throat.

Please… Please let this cure him. He is my family. I need him because I love him...

While saying it in my mind, I massaged Largo's throat so he could swallow it.

Not long after, I felt the movement up and down in his throat. Finally he managed to drink it.

I sat upright watching what was happening.

Instantly, the black veins that carried poison through his body faded, slowly but surely the black veins disappeared, until they were only left around open wound on his chest.

The wound left by the dagger also no longer bleeds. The wound was dry, but still left a fairly large gaping scar.

“He was lucky, the dagger didn't stick straight into his heart. Just missed a little.” Adam said and I nodded. Then he told me to put the remaining leaves on Largo's wound.

I took a deep breath. Largo now seemed to be breathing more stable, although cold sweat was still dripping down his forehead. His body was still cold.

I sat looking at him still with a worried face, while occasionally wiping my mouth. Now I just realized that the liquid tastes bitter.

“You came together through the portal?” Adam asked again. He's still there, watching Largo and me, I think.

“Yes. He is my mate.” I nodded. "Why isn't he conscious yet? He still looks in pain..." I wiped my tears while continuing to stroke Largo's hand. Praying that he will open his eyes anytime soon.

"That's what I wanted to tell you..." Adam took a deep breath. “The leaves ward off the poison, but the poison has already spread a lot.”

Immediately I started to panic. “What should I do? What should I do...?” My tears started flowing again. I don't want to lose the person I really love and loves me sincerely.

“You are the one who can help him, Cyllina. We are descendants of the Dryads. The pure soul of trees flows in our blood. You can make the healing process faster and work perfectly by mating with him..."

My eyes widen at him, then at Largo, who was still lying pale and limp, unconscious.

“I'll leave you guys here and watch around for you. You already know this place is dangerous. And I don't think you two are the only ones coming out of the portal today.”

Adam looked at me sharply and I could only nod my head. But I'm tongue-tied, I couldn’t say that Mira, that dark witch, is the one we purposely brought along here with us.

Adam frowned and looked around him. He stood up and walked a few steps.

“It's best not to delay if you want him to survive. I won't be far. You can call me if you sense any danger. Remember this forest is cruel, but they’ll be easy on you if they know who you are."

With that, Adam left Largo and me. Now the tree tendrils began to surround the two of us. As if making room for me and Largo to do it.

I knelt down and started to take off my clothes as soon as I can’t see Adam anymore.

I don't know how I did it with him like this, but I'm sure Largo could hear me clearly.

“Love, you need to live. I'll do anything, please…”
