Bella was in her cramped room, staring at the dresses, shoes, and bags that she had laid out on her bed. These three items were indeed real, right in front of her eyes. Until now, she could only see them in the media or behind the display cases of their outlets in downtown Brooklyn. She decided to admire all the expensive items up close before she could think of the motives behind the man named Marco Vilante giving them to her for free.
She tried on the red dress. It fit her perfectly, embracing her slim body. Bella twirled in front of the mirror with a broad smile on her face. Expensive items were truly different. They felt so comfortable on her body. The fabric was soft, and Bella felt incredibly elegant. Then she tried on the high-heeled black shoes and the cream-colored handbag. Like a model, Bella walked towards and away from the mirror, strutting as if she was on a catwalk.
After enjoying the expensive gifts, Bella put the items back into their respective packaging. She was not allowed to wear them until she knew Marco Vilante's intentions. Just his name sounded like a dangerous gangster leader. And his henchman, what was his name, Pablo, as he called the guy, even showed a gun to her. Bella shivered in fear.
Meanwhile, at Marco's residence, a mansion located by Swann Lake on the outskirts of Brooklyn, Marco called his henchman, Pablo, to come to his room.
"Have you given her the gifts?" Marco asked. Yes, he called Pablo just to ask that. He was curious about the girl's reaction.
"Yes, Sir, I have given them to her."
"Did she accept them happily?"
"At first, she refused outright." Marco murmured as he stroked his chin. Then he asked how Isabella eventually agreed to accept his gifts.
"I threatened her, with this..." Pablo showed his gun at his waist.
"Are you serious?" Marco chuckled. "She was scared? Ah, how pitiful," he said. Imagining Isabella's reaction when she saw Pablo's gun must be adorable.
"I'm sorry, Sir, I had to do it because she... is a stubborn girl."
"Stubborn? Hmmm, quite challenging." Sometimes he admired his own instincts. If he liked something, no matter what it was, that something would surely have high value. And his feeling about Isabella must be right. From the moment he first saw her, he felt like she had something that no other woman possessed.
"Give her another gift." Pablo looked at his boss, furrowing his brow. Giving another gift to the girl seemed excessive. This time, Pablo decided to speak up.
"Wouldn't it be better to invite her here for dinner or something?"
"It's not the right time. I want to make her curious about me. A stranger who gives her many gifts. Besides, my business with the shipment from Venezuela is not finished yet."
Pablo sighed softly. That meant he had to think hard again about the gift to give to the girl. It was truly troublesome. Moreover, he was too lazy to argue with Bella. His energy was drained because of his annoyance with the headstrong and chatty girl.

"So, the car you crashed into is owned by a man named Marco Vilante?" Darrell asked that night when he and Bella were enjoying dinner at a small restaurant near Bella's apartment.
Bella nodded while chewing a bite of her hamburger. Her mouth was so full that she couldn't answer Darrell's question. After she swallowed the food in her mouth, she could finally speak.
"Yes, and that guy is really strange. Yesterday, he sent me lots of gifts through his henchmen. Do you know what he gave me? Designer dresses, shoes, and bags that are so expensive... you can't even imagine."
"Why did he send you so many gifts? Is it because he felt guilty for hitting your bike? If that's the reason, it's too excessive."
"How would I know," Bella replied with a shrug. She chewed another bite of her hamburger. She felt incredibly hungry that night. Even though she had eaten snacks that she always kept as stock in her apartment earlier that afternoon. "By the way, it seems like you know who Marco Vilante is?"
"Yeah, the name sounds familiar. If I had to guess, he's probably the head of a big gangster in
Brooklyn." Bella closed her mouth. Her guess was the same. His appearance was not far from the gangsters in movies. Neat, arrogant, and cold.
"What if you're being targeted to be kidnapped and sold into the human trafficking market?" Darrell teased.
"Hey, why are you scaring me?" Bella pouted. Darrell burst out laughing.
"I'm just kidding. Or maybe he's fallen in love with you. Ah, so romantic. An innocent girl chased by a ruthless and cold mafia boss." Bella sneered. Until now, she couldn't conclude Marco Vilante's intentions.
"Ah, let's not think about it too seriously. Maybe Marco Vilante is just bored and wants to do something random."
"I think that's the most appropriate reason." Darrell ended their conversation because they had finished their dinner. They both left the restaurant and went home.
Since leaving the restaurant, Bella felt like someone was watching her. However, every time she looked around, she didn't see anyone suspicious. Maybe it was just her imagination. Bella entered her apartment without thinking about it.
As soon as she lay down on her bed, someone knocked on the door. Bella grumbled. Who would visit someone's house at this late hour? It couldn't be Darrell. He would have called first if there was something urgent. Bella dragged her feet to the living room, which was separated from her bedroom by a long cabinet.
"Yes?" she said when she opened the door. Her eyes widened. It was him again, Pablo. What did he want now?
"Good evening, Miss Millers," Pablo greeted with a nod. "I have a delivery from Mr. Vilante." The man took something out of his coat pocket. It was a medium-sized black velvet box.
"Another gift? You must be joking. Sorry, I can't accept it." Bella immediately rejected. This was too much.
"Are you sure?" Pablo opened the box and made Bella gasp. It was a diamond necklace with green gemstones. This must be very expensive.
"You must be joking. This necklace is expensive. Why would he give me such an expensive necklace? What does your boss, Marco Vilante, mean by this?" This time, Bella was not happy but rather angered. She was frustrated with that man named Marco. Frustrated with his random behavior.
"You have to accept it." Pablo reached for Bella's hand and placed the box there.
"Are you trying to threaten me again?" Bella pulled her hand away. The box almost fell if Pablo hadn't caught it in time.

"If it's necessary to threaten you, I will do it," Pablo responded to Bella's statement. The girl hissed in annoyance. She was waiting for him to show her the gun. However, this time Bella was prepared not to be surprised. "Listen, Mr. I-Forgot-Your-Name, I don't want to receive any more gifts from your boss. I also don't want to have anything to do with you guys. So, please don't bother me." Bella quickly closed the door. Her heart was pounding fast. She was afraid that he would break in. But after waiting for a while, nothing happened. Bella breathed a sigh of relief.Damn it. Why did Bella feel scared just because she didn't want to accept gifts? She really didn't want to get involved with Marco Vilante or any other dangerous people, if they were indeed what she suspected. Her thoughts were interrupted by her phone ringing on the bed. Bella quickly checked the flat object and saw Darrel's name on the screen. "Yes?" she answered. "What? Darrel is in the hospital? He was attacked?
Bella stretched her aching muscles after a long day of serving customers who came and went without stopping at the cafe where she works. The cafe was quite busy that day because it was the weekend. Her intention was to visit Darrel in the hospital afterwards and get some information from her friend about the attack he had experienced. After saying goodbye to her colleagues and manager, Bella left the cafe with a cheerful face. However, just a few meters away, a familiar black sedan stopped right next to her. She could already guess who the driver of the sedan was. Bella immediately put on an unfriendly expression when she saw Pablo approaching her."What do you want now?" she asked sarcastically."Mr. Vilante invites you for dinner. Please come with me," he said."Dinner? Go with you? Are you trying to trick me? You must have planned to kidnap me and sell me on the black market, right?" Bella ranted."Can you stop being so annoying and make my job easier?" Pablo opened the back door
Bella was perfectly still in her place, the image that Marco had brought her literally paralyzed her. His lips seemed locked, unable to utter a word from there. No small talk, not long after Bella sat in a chair with her body stretched out. Some in white aprons as well as a chef's distinctive cap and cap enter the room carrying a load of delicious-looking dishes, the dishes that were previously arranged on the trolley and then one by one are transferred to the table. The table beside him sat their great master and his special guest, the cooks did their duty with silence. Dare not make a sound even in the slightest. When they finished moving all the meal, they simply lowered themselves before leaving the two still in their seats. "Please enjoy, miss miller!" Marco says, enjoying the meal that is available in front of him, in contrast with the very Bella who is squinting at his eyes. Looking intently at the dishes, as if making sure there was nothing suspicious about any of the dishe
"What the hell do you want?" the bells reflex hearing what Marco is saying can't be denied if he feels so angry at that arrogant man in front of him. And they never knew each other before, but how could that Marco guy do that to him? Contrary to Bella's intense emotion, Marco stood up at the door and shoved his hands into the pockets of the black casual pants he was wearing. His handsome face was too cold with sharp eyes on Bella, as well as one of the corners of her lips attracted to the smiling."Take care of him, don't let him leave until I say so!" "Remember, miss miller, one step out of my door. "Then a bullet will Pierce your friend's body!" continues Marco to Bella after he gave his instructions to his handmaiden, done again threatening Bella. Marco strode off to walk away from the room that Bella was in with his attendant, paying no attention to Bella's Shouting out for clarity. Asking for an explanation as to why Bella was kept in her quarters, and for her, Marco was only
"Oh, no! I have to go to work!" Bella exclaimed after coming out of the bathroom and then looking at the clock on the wall that says half past seven in the morning, half an hour later she would be late! Bella's gegas is running, heading to the wardrobe that's in the corner of her room. But her pace came to an abrupt end when she wasn't in her apartment, when it seemed to come back to the fact that she was still in Marco's house. "Miss miller, come with me. I've packed your clothes!" Alexa, Bella had to walk alexa into the closet. Bella's eyes suddenly leapt to the silhouette of a woman's clothing and styles, so she was convinced that the single item on the hanger would have cost a lot. Still busy with the sight so pleasing to the women when alarmed by the presence of alexa, she brought a dress of navy short sleeves that still looked new."Please miss, you can wear this. Madam don't worry because it's safe, all the clothes here are fresh. "Alexa blurted out the dress in her hand to
Pablo had lost his mind as he listened to the Bella cry, and in his heart he recognized his master's line of sight was so beautiful. Especially when she was appropriately dressed, low-maintenance makeup, anda moderate hairdo. He was also very fit, not too thin, but not too contained. Realizing that he had been too brazen to praise his master's woman, pablo immediately bowed his head. Afraid when the master finds out what he's doing. "Don't be so confident miss, even alexa is so much prettier than you!" pablo retorted while alexa now looked nervous, in contrast to the very decih Bella who heard pablo's excuses."If I wasn't, your arrogant boss would never have kept me in this place!" Bella retorted, hearing him pull his corner of her lips up and form a cynical smile. Her lips speak eloquently to Bella not speak ill of her master, or she will suffer the consequences alone. "Well, you better get going. Surely Lord is waiting for you, don't let her down!" leraj alexa, when he normaliz
Her stubbornness eventually led pablo to surrender, leaving the house that Bella was living in and returning to Lord vilante. Intending to report what Bella had said to him, Lord vilante's response was surely furious. She doesn't believe a little girl like Bella has the courage to defy her commands, but on one side she also feels fascinated by Isabella's character. Marco vilante feels he's not wrong to target Bella as his would-be girl, that girl is a woman of courage as well as firmness in her heart. Remind Marco vilante that if he isn't a kind man, then he thinks about realizing what Bella said about pablo."Give my little girl a lesson pablo, make her regret disobeying me. A regret that would stop him from ever resisting and replying to my orders!" Marco said with a cold look and a sharp look on his part. "Well, Sir, I'll do what you want me to do." said pablo, he sure as hell knows what to do to make Bella regret her stubborn decision. By his hand, pablo wanted to tear Bella t
Bella couldn't hide her surprise when she heard what alexa had to say, how could anyone be immune to the law? All of this created more and more confusion in Bella's mind as to who Marco was, why did he seem to have so much power? "Against master Marco is useless, miss. Better from now on you obey and no longer argue, it would be safer for miss!" alexa said before leaving Bella in her solitude, leaving room on that line to think about what she would do after. Although the woman was also unsure of the destiny of Isabella, since any of those who had known or had an affair with Marco vilante, none of them had ever been heard to live in peace. Most of them have gone mad or lifeless, especially to those who know what Marco vilante looks like and what he does for a living. Even that man would never hesitate to take the life of a business associate or his subordinates who were taken by committing treason against him, no matter how small the cost was life. 'I don't understand how a young
