LOGINSierra's POV
I ran to my room in tears"Sierra, please open the door"my mother said while knocking on my door heavily.
"I am fine mum, just ,just go away please?" I said back to her half sobbing half talking."You don't need to worry baby, I will go talk to your father, I Will not let you get married to that Devil" my mum said.
I sobbed even more knowing there is nothing my mother can do about the marriage alliance and we both know it. She was equally as shocked as I was when my father told us both who I was getting married to, him not telling her beforehand showed that he didn't want her opinion on the matter.
My heart broke for my mother, Juliana , but broke for myself even more, I will be getting married to the devil himself just two weeks from now, and I just wish I had more time to prepare myself for it even though no amount of time could prepare me for being with him.
Lucas Luciano,my husband to be is even much worse and scary than his father Vincent is. It is rumoured that he did not live with his father as he grew up, I mean that should have made him more humane right? but no, it made him much more worse. He had once killed a man at a wedding ceremony, right in front of me. Infront of more than hundreds of people without batting an eye.We all know that the men in the family kill but not in front of their wives and children at a wedding ceremony at that .
FLASHBACK.
It was the marriage between the Salvatore and the Bonanno family, my father had tried to marry me into the Salvatore family but they had declined saying that their son wasn't interested in marriage any time soon which was a lie because we received an invitation to their wedding a month later.
After the marriage oath was taken, the men of the five families was gathered around a table with Vincent at the top of the table.
The remaining guests were mostly women and we were chatting until we heard a table being banged, we all faced their direction knowing it could all turn pretty bad
"SIT. BACK. DOWN" a ravishing drop dead gorgeous man said through gritted teeth,he looked stunning as hell, even as he was positioned on the chair,I could tell that he was a very tall man. He looked furious with his eyes darkened as he talked to another man. "Who is that" I heard a woman across me whispering to each other."That is Lucas Luciano,he is going to be the new Don" another woman replied her.
"I heard he is a very brutal man from my husband, who dares to disobey him" she continued.
"You do not ta... ahhhhhhhhhh" the man stopped talking and screamed. Lucas had stand and stabbed him in the eye with a cutlery"I TOLD YOU TO SIT THE FUCK DOWN" he said .He then took his gun from his pant and shot him through the second eye, making the man collapse on his chair,
he then smiled and said "now you look better on the chair with your mouth shut".Everything quickly turned into chaos, women screaming, children crying, everyone running for their life, the place turned I to shit hole. Then in about five minutes, everywhere was silent, with no one in the hall except for the men talking business as if nothing had happened and me,I was glued to the chair not aware of my surrounding,I could only focus on his face and think about how he could smile after taking a man's life.
My phone vibrated on my hand, snapping me away from my thought. I hurriedly left the hall and went home. He killed a man in front of more than a hundred people and it didn't even faze him."He must have done a lot more worse." I thought to myself then.
FLASHBACK ENDS
"Sierra, open the door "
"What is wrong, why are you crying mum?" Penelope asked across the room.
I opened the door and ran to my sister, hugging her tight and crying and wailing on her shoulder.
"Mum,you can leave" I sniffed "don't worry about me,I will be fine" I said to my mother. She left a few seconds after contemplating.
"Why are you crying "my sister asked holding my face.
"Let us go into my room"I said to her.I sat her down and told her everything my father had told me and my mother, she looked at me with shock in her eyes.
"You are getting married? in just two weeks"she asked "to Lucas Luciano?"
"Yes" I told her
"To the same Lucas Luciano ".I did not respond to her this time.
"No, you cannot get married to him, he he is dangerous, he kills people like he drinks water, you cannot marry someone like him, and, Oh my God " She said covering her mouth with her hand and started crying.
"The rumour about his father and their family, they might harm you and ,I can't let you may someone like him" she said"why would you marry a man like him?"
'Do you think I want to marry him? do I have any other choice than to marry him, and you are here telling me I cannot marry him like I have control over who I marry "I said outrageously.
"I'm sorry, I just don't know what to do, I don't want to lose you"she said.
"Get out" I said silently"just let me be" I whispered
"what?" she said."Just leave my room, I want to be alone"I said to her.
"What"she looked at me with welling eyes. "you want me to leave your room" she said. "I just want to be alone right now" I told her. My sister left my room crying.SIERRA POV Three days had passed since my conversation with Lucas. Three days since I walked out of his office feeling like my entire understanding of my father had been ripped apart. I still hadn’t completely recovered from it. I had barely spoken to my father since then. Not that he wanted to speak to me except it had to do with the wedding. Not because I hated him. That was the confusing part. I didn’t hate him. I was angry. Hurt. Disappointed. But somewhere underneath all of that, there I am still the little girl who remembered him holding her hand while crossing the street. The little girl who used to believe her father could do no wrong. The little girl whose her father was always the hero. Maybe that was why his betrayal hurt so much.
LUCAS POV Three days had passed since Sierra came to my office. Three days since I had watched the realization of what her father had done settle across her face. I should have forgotten about it. But I couldn’t. Instead, I found myself thinking about her more than I cared to admit. Not because I felt sorry for her. At least, that was what I told myself. I had seen plenty of people make deals they regretted some didn’t regret. I had seen fathers sacrifice sons, brothers betray brothers, and men sell their closest friends for money. Edward was no different. He had simply found a different currency. His daughter. I sat behind my desk, staring at the report in front of me. The warehouse had been quiet for the last two days. Too quiet. No unusual mo
LUCAS POV A few seconds later, the door opened again. And Sierra walked into the room. My eyes moved over her before I could stop them. She wore a top and trouser. The top hugged her body perfectly, following the curve of her waist and the trouser highlighting the shape of her hips. It was elegant, but far more revealing than necessary for a visit to my office. The fabric clung to her in all the right places, drawing attention to every curve she seemed completely unaware she was displaying. I tried to look away. I failed. My gaze lingered longer than it should have, tracing the way the dress shaped her figure before slowly moving back to her face. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. So she had finally decided to do what her father asked of her. He had sent her here to seduce me and apparently not subtle ab
LUCAS POVThe report didn't make sense. The numbers didn’t make sense.I stared at the report spread across my desk, my fingers tapping slowly against the polished wood.Three shipments. All through the same routes.Three different dates.Yet whoever was watching them had made the same mistake. They had followed the same pattern. My eyes narrowed.I picked up the first report and read it again. The shipment had left the southern warehouse at 11:40 p.m.It was supposed to go through the western warehouse but it was being followed so I changed the route. It was supposed to reach the harbor by 2:00 a.m.It never did.It was an hour late. The second shipment had followed almost the exact same route two weeks later. And the third…The third had been almost two hours late. Someone was studying my shipment patterns. That wasn’t unusual. In my world, people were always watching.Competitors wanted information. Enemies wanted weaknesses. Men who wanted what belonged to me were constantly s
SIERRA POV “Yes.” His answer came so quickly and coldly that it hurt even more. I looked at him. There wasn’t even a hint of regret in his eyes. “And that is why you will do everything I ask of you,” he added. I stared at him for a long moment. I wanted to scream. I wanted to tell him that I wasn’t a property. Neither his nor my father’s. That I wasn’t something to sell and be bought. That Lucas had no right to own me. But then I remembered the man he had killed. I remembered exactly what Lucas was capable of.
SIERRA POV “I told you before, my father asked me to come,” I said smugly. Lucas stared at me for a few seconds, his expression unreadable. Then his jaw tightened. “Why don’t you drop that bullshit?” My smugness immediately disappeared. “You are here because your father wants to use you to control me,” he said, his voice low and serious. “But that wouldn’t work.” I swallowed. “So…” He leaned back slightly, his eyes never leaving mine. “DO NOT LIE TO ME and tell me what you know about it.” The look on his face made something inside me freeze. For a brief moment, I was no longer sitting across from Lucas. I was back at the Lucchese wedding ceremony. Back to the night I had witnessed him kill a man at a ceremony. The scream of the man he stabbed with a cutlery.
