LOGINLily touched Gerald’s arm lightly. “I need to use the restroom.”
He looked down at her, eyes still dark from the earlier tension with Elliot. “Do not take long.”
She gave a short nod and walked away from the main hall. The restroom was down a quiet corridor lined with soft lights and dark wood.
She pushed the door open and stepped inside. The space was private and elegant, with marble counters and large mirrors. She had only been there a few seconds when the door opened again.
Cleo walked in. Her black dress clung to her body and her face was tight with anger.
“You just could not stay in your place, could you?” Cleo said. Her voice was low and sharp.
Lily turned slowly and faced her. “What do you want now?”
Cleo stepped closer. “I want you to understand something. You are a paid hole. Nothing more. Gerald will use you and throw you away like the others. Do not walk around here like you belong.”
Lily’s eyes narrowed. “You sound scared. Is that what this is? You are scared he is keeping me longer than he kept you?”
Cleo’s hand twitched like she wanted to slap her again. “Watch your mouth.”
“Or what?” Lily took a step forward instead of back. “You already slapped me once. I slapped you back. Try it again and see what happens.”
The two women stared at each other in the quiet restroom. Cleo’s breathing was hard. Lily did not look away. After a long moment Cleo let out a bitter laugh.
“Enjoy it while it lasts,” she said. “Girls like you never last.”
She turned and left, the door swinging shut behind her.
Lily stayed still for a few seconds, forcing her hands to stop shaking. Then she washed them, fixed her dress, and walked back out into the corridor.
She did not get far.
Elliot Rivera stepped out from a side hallway and blocked her path. His smile was easy, but his eyes were hungry.
“There you are,” he said. “I was hoping to catch you alone.”
Lily’s body went tight. “Move.”
He did not. Instead he reached out and ran his fingers down her bare arm, then lower, brushing the side of her breast through the thin red fabric.
“You looked too good in that dress tonight,” he murmured. “Gerald does not deserve to keep something like you to himself.”
Lily shoved his hand away hard. “Do not touch me.”
Elliot’s smile widened. “Feisty. I like that. Most girls in this world learn to smile and take it.”
“I am not most girls.” She tried to step past him.
He moved faster. One hand grabbed her waist and pulled her against the wall. His body pressed close. His other hand slid down toward the hem of her short dress.
“Let go of me,” Lily said, voice sharp.
“Or what?” he asked, leaning in. His breath was warm on her face. “You think Gerald cares that much? He bought you. I can buy you too.”
When his hand tried to push under her dress, Lily reacted without thinking. She brought her hand up and slapped him across the face as hard as she could. The sound cracked through the quiet corridor.
Elliot’s head turned from the force. For a second he looked stunned. Then anger flooded his face.
“You little bitch—”
Heavy footsteps sounded at the end of the hall. Gerald was already walking toward them, his expression dark and dangerous. He had clearly seen the slap.
Elliot straightened and wiped the corner of his mouth. He looked at Gerald and then back at Lily.
“I will deal with her,” Elliot said, voice cold. “She needs to learn her place.”
Gerald stopped a few feet away. His eyes moved from Elliot’s face to Lily’s wrist, where a red mark was already forming from how hard Elliot had held her.
“You will deal with her?” Gerald asked, voice low and deadly calm. “I would like to see you try.”
The two men stared at each other. The air between them felt heavy enough to break. A few guests had already stepped into the corridor, drawn by the sound of the slap. More people were watching from the entrance to the main hall.
Gerald reached out and took Lily’s arm, pulling her firmly to his side. He did not look at her yet. His eyes stayed locked on Elliot.
“Touch her again,” Gerald said, “and I will forget we are at a party.”
Elliot’s jaw tightened, but he did not move closer. The crowd was growing. Too many eyes. Too many phones that could record.
Gerald turned without another word and guided Lily down the corridor, past the watching guests, and straight toward the exit. His hand stayed tight around her arm. He did not slow down. He did not speak.
Lily walked beside him, heart still racing from the confrontation. She could feel the stares on her back. She could still feel Elliot’s hand on her skin. And she could feel the cold, controlled rage coming off Gerald in waves.
They stepped out into the night air. The limousine was already waiting. Gerald opened the door, waited for her to get in, then followed. The moment the door shut, the privacy barrier went up.
He finally looked at her.
“Did he hurt you?”
Lily shook her head once. “I handled it.”
Gerald’s eyes dropped to the red mark on her wrist. His jaw flexed.
“No one puts their hands on what is mine,” he said quietly. “No one.”
The car pulled away from the estate. Behind them the party lights faded, but the tension inside the limousine only grew thicker.
Gerald was reviewing numbers on his screen when Mako walked in without knocking. His second-in-command’s face was tighter than usual. He carried a tablet in one hand and closed the door behind him with the other.“You need to see this,” Mako said.Gerald leaned back in his chair. “What now?”Mako placed the tablet on the desk and turned it to face him. “Cleo released this footage earlier today. She sent it to half the families in our circle and also put it online. It is spreading fast.”Gerald’s eyes dropped to the screen. The first video started playing. It was clearly from a club. Dim lights. Loud music. Lily was on the floor in a short, tight outfit, dancing between two men. Their hands were on her body without shame. One man gripped her ass and pulled her back against him. The other slid his hands up her waist and openly cupped her breasts over the thin fabric. Lily was smiling in the video, moving with them, used to the attention. The camera stayed on her long enough that there w
Lily needed to move. The tension from the party, the slap, the kiss, and the way Gerald had taken her the night before sat heavy in her body. She changed into tight black leggings and a sports top, then took the private elevator down to the gym inside the apartment complex. The gym was quiet at that hour. She put on headphones and started with the treadmill, then moved to weights. She pushed herself hard, sweat running down her back, until her arms and legs burned. For a while the physical effort drowned out the noise in her head. When she finished, she grabbed her towel and walked into the women’s locker room. The door had barely closed behind her when she heard voices near the far lockers.“That is the girl Gerald Maldovo has been keeping,” one woman said. “ Everyone knows she is just a paid sex toy. Nothing serious.”“I heard the same,” another replied. “He only brought her to the party for show. She is not his woman. She is just the current hole he is fucking, disgusting.”Lily s
The next morning Gerald sat behind his desk with a fresh cup of coffee that had already gone cold. The city looked the same from his office windows, but the weight from last night still sat on his shoulders. He kept seeing Lily’s face when he kissed her. He kept feeling the way her body had responded to him. It was becoming a problem.Mako walked in without knocking and dropped into the chair across from him.“We have a mess,” Mako said.Gerald leaned back. “Talk.”“Cleo has been busy since the party. She is telling anyone who will listen that Lily is nothing but a paid sex toy. A temporary hole you bought for fun. Before she started talking, people were actually starting to believe you might be serious about the girl. They had never seen you act like that over a woman before. You claimed her in public. You almost started a fight with Elliot Rivera over her. Now Cleo is making sure everyone remembers she is just a contract.”Gerald’s jaw tightened. “Of course she is.”“It is working,
The limousine ride back to the penthouse was silent. Gerald sat close to Lily, one hand resting on her thigh, but he did not speak. The city lights slid past the windows. Lily could still feel the ghost of Elliot’s hand on her skin and the sharp sting of the slap she had given him. Her heart had not slowed down. When they stepped into the penthouse, Gerald closed the door harder than necessary. He turned to face her. His eyes were dark and stormy.“You should not have been alone with him,” he said.Lily dropped her clutch on the table. “I went to the restroom. I did not ask him to follow me.”“He put his hands on you.”“I handled it.”Gerald stepped closer. “I saw the mark on your wrist. No one touches what is mine.”Lily’s breath caught at the raw possession in his voice. “I am not a thing you own.”“You are tonight.” His voice dropped. “You have been since the day you signed those papers.”He reached up and cupped the back of her neck. For a second they only stared at each other. Th

Gerald kept his hand firm on the small of Lily’s back as they stepped into the grand hall. Crystal lights hung from the high ceiling and threw soft gold across the polished floor. Long tables covered in white cloth stretched through the room. Men in dark tailored suits and women in expensive dresses filled the space. The low music mixed with the sound of glasses and quiet conversation.Lily felt the air change the moment they entered. Heads turned. Conversations paused. Eyes moved over the short red dress that clung to her body and left her back bare. She kept her chin high even as her pulse quickened. She had been stared at before in clubs and on streets, but these stares carried more weight. These people had real power.Gerald felt every look. He saw the way the men’s eyes dropped to Lily’s legs and the deep cut of her dress. He saw the women studying her with envy and calculation. A dark satisfaction settled in his chest. They all wanted what was his. They could look. They could
