Chapter 10

Della's POV

I jerk my head back and focus to my left side to see Daisy there there in her night wear, clutching Tom in one arm and scouring her eyes sluggishly with her free hand.

I think back to Alessandro who is frozen, gazing at Daisy, still standing in between my legs. I immediately put my hands on his chest and that appears to wake up him from his frozen state. He takes a look at me and makes three strides back.

I leap off the counter and move toward Daisy, getting her and holding her to my left side hip. I take a look at Alessandro again to see him looking from me Daisy with a befuddled demeanor all over.

"Mom, who is he?" Daisy asks with a delicate voice as she puts her head on my shoulder and stares at Alessandro.

I open my mouth to speak but nothing emerges. I didn't believe that he should see her. He shouldn't have any familiarity or closeness with her.

"I am Alessandro." He addresses her question as he ventures toward us.

My hold around Daisy unknowingly fixes as I marginal
